  1. We don’t understand the fascination with those tables with a view and after our first Edge cruise have always declined the offer to sit there. Hopefully we’ve made a few people happy. 😉 How early do you have to arrive to get a good table? That depends on how early you want to eat. 😁
  2. The same process of X collecting passports happens when you cruise to Russia. Nothing unusual… unless you miss the ship's departure as two passengers did on one of our cruises. Their passports, and luggage, were turned over to the local authorities since they had to find their own way back to the US.
  3. Yes, the food is saltier than I prepare at home but I haven’t stopped eating the food on board and I don’t use salt at the table. I do drink specific bands of bottled water and I haven’t had a problem with any swelling in almost 20 years.
  4. YMMV, but unfortunately the ship's water on board is not “excellent” for everyone to drink, especially if one needs to watch their Sodium intake. I discovered this problem many years ago. All crew members are also aware of it.
  5. The secret is out now. 😁 They are delicious and go very quickly!
  6. At the time of the incident it was a mystery and since then it has remained one, at least to many of us on CC. I have an idea how and why this happened, but will not share that publicly.
  7. Cruise line pricing is done much the same way as the airlines do, it is based on demand. When a ship has an abundance of cabins available prices may be lowered to fill empty cabins. Once the desired percentage of cabins are booked, the cruise line will raise the prices.
  8. I'm more interested in why he said the following:
  9. Prices are also based on time of year and holidays. Spring breaks, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas fares are usually priced higher.
  10. Some good news… Italy lifts all Covid entry restrictions Wednesday, Jun 01, 2022 0 Italy has eliminated all remaining Covid entry curbs for international travellers. From June 1 unvaccinated tourists no longer need to take a test before arrival. Travellers are no longer required to fill in a Passenger Locator Form, even if unvaccinated. However, masks are still required in certain settings until at least 15 June, including on flights to and from Italy and on all public transport. Masks are still ‘strongly recommended’ in all indoor public places.
  11. This is the change just announced by Italy: Italy lifts all Covid entry restrictions Wednesday, Jun 01, 2022 0 Italy has eliminated all remaining Covid entry curbs for international travellers. 12. Anyone interested in the supply chain issues regarding the wine industry, just Google “wine shortage 2022”. There are lots of articles. Everything has been affected, from the herbicides needed to protect the grapes to the bottles and corks to hold the wine as well as shipping and transportation issues. 🍷
  13. I totally agree, it's definitely a supply chain issue. We are experiencing this problem in our state. I tried and failed today to locate our favorite wine. Every location within driving distance is sold out.
  14. Jeanne, Your husband was a great asset to the Celebrity board. I really enjoyed his posts and the wisdom and wit he shared with everyone here. My deepest condolences to all who loved him. 🌺🌼💔🌼🌺
  15. We've also had GE since it's inception. It's worth every penny. 👍
  16. Prior to boarding for a cruise each passenger must upload a picture through X's APP. Everyone boarding or leaving the ship passes by a camera shoreside. Facial Recognition software automatically identifies you. It's fantastic and has speeded up the immigration process tremendously.
  17. We love TA cruises and many of ours have been quite active as well. Years ago I, or someone else on the roll call, would design customized tee shirts which anyone could purchase if they desired. Not only was it fun to do, everyone would have the opportunity to get a special keepsake for their cruise. I've never been on Millie, but “Millie's Marauders” is clever. Is there a story behind the title? 😉
  18. That’s OK, Den, I don’t take anything but sunscreen (also rarely use it). 😎
  19. I think that's a great idea. In 18th century France ship launchings and christenings were somewhat like traditional marriage ceremonies with both a male and female participant. So why not do the same today?
  20. I am aware of Zenith's history, she was in X's fleet when we started sailing with them. 😊 Pullmantur sold Zenith in 2020. She is currently laid up.
  21. ZENITH. But unfortunately there is already another ship under the Royal flag (Pulmantur) by that name.
  22. I concur. That was the procedure in Fort Lauderdale when we sailed in March.
