  1. What exactly is meant by 'with courses served tableside'? I am not quite picturing this in my mind.

That is interesting word choice, isn't it? It evokes the concept of table side food preparation like tossing a salad at the table. But "served tableside" is what they do now. Coming out from the kitchen with trays with plated food on them and then the wait staff serving you the plates at the table IS being served table side.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the trials. I'm confident that operational teams from corporate will oversee this roll out hands on aboard the ships and will fine tune, change, add, eliminate service styles and menu items as the trials gets underway. I wish them well and hope this will be a positive experience across the fleet.

  2. Not fond of the whole table sharing thing at all. I prefer to order what I want and not pass it around the table.

I'm a fan of being seated with other but this will make me request a table for only my party.

Smart decision, less chance of catching Noro-Virus. I have to wonder what the USPHS at the CDC will have to say about this family style of passing foods amongst strangers.

  3. Yes you will most likely get the same gift twice. We start a back-to-back on Monday and I'm expecting to have the same gifts

We wish Carnival would just give us a $50 eBay gift card and then we could receive the Tervis cups, the cooler and the visor altogether! :)

  4. Thank you. I did, not too worried about the view but about the noise, if any.

On another thread you were asking about the noise in 4125 and I provided you a link to "drag it decks" so you could see 4125 is over the walkway of the shopping area. Yes, it is a quiet cabin. Have fun!

  5. You are kidding right?

Ever see a Big Mac on TV then in person that looks the same?

    So you let it slide?

And I said menu items should be an honest reflection of what is served, not that they are.

  6. They take liberties. For years they have had chateaubriand on the menu and while good it is not the real thing.

They have learned to tenderize cheaper cuts of beef.

Thanks, Stu but I did want to hear from the member I quoted.

  7. I was on the Dream last week and got the Eggs and Filet Mignon.... It was NOT a filet mignon by any stretch of the imagination, it was a cheap cheap cut of the flat iron steak if even that, and was about 2-3oz at most..

Did you let it slide or did you speak to the staff? Menus should be an honest reflection of the foods served.

  8. But that over easy egg in the benedict may still be of concern to you .

Actually those are overcooked poached eggs on the Benedict.

OP you can request a scrambled Eggs Benedict where the cook substitutes scrambled for poached eggs. Just a thought to share.

  9. What is this area?

That is the ice making machine pantry accessed by the crew to fill up the ice buckets in the cabins. Room service dirty trays are sometimes parked there for later pick up. The ice maker itself should be on the opposite wall from your cabin.

  10. I am concerned about the noise level on 4125, the PVP said that port side is better than state board side.

The deck below is Atlantic, so I am worried about the noise level.

Did you use the "drag it" deck feature on the link I posted for you? If you drag Main deck on top of the Atlantic deck you'll find 4125 is above the Yellow Brick Road walkway next to the Formalities Shop so that should be a quiet cabin.

Starboard side or port side, I have no clue what your PVP means by that!
