  1. For the first time, I will need to request wheelchair assist for boarding the Discovery Princess at pier 93 in San Pedro. Does anyone know where I need to go once there? Is there someone around the luggage drop off area I can ask or do I have to wait until I am inside the terminal? That pier has a pretty long zigzag queue even before entering the terminal so I am hoping not to have to stand that long. Thanks!
  2. On the Emerald, the maitre’d came to our table every night and listed 3 “surprises” added to the dinner each night. They were things like pastas, risotto, rib eye steak, special appetizers, etc.
  3. I am not the person who took the picture but it sounds like you heard this from one of the teenagers and got a whitewashed story. There is more about the incident and more witnesses in a different cruise group.
  4. I spoke to the woman. There was one group of teenagers not allowing people on the elevator. She took their picture to share with passenger services, not to share online. She had asked them to move because people were waiting for elevators and they just pushed the door close button. You are just stirring up trouble where there was none.
  5. It wasn’t me but it was reported that teenagers were laying down in the elevator and refused to move to let people in. Passenger services sent security to look for them. There have been some wild teenagers roaming this cruise. Some thought it was fun to play ding dong ditch and run off laughing.
  6. You might have to call and ask. They aren’t listed like normal cabins for some reason.
  7. See if there is a family suite available in your cruise. That will sleep 6 and gets all of the benefits of a full suite. It is basically two cabins joined with a common area in the middle.
  8. I used to get extra cruise credits for upsells all of the time back when they were offered. I would just go see the Captain Circle rep.
  9. We bid the minimum bid for a penthouse suite and got it. Since it is for a 20 day cruise, it was worth it to us. We sail next weekend.
  10. I’m not on this cruise but when we were on a cruise that required testing before a port they asked us to be in our cabin at a certain time. Two people came to the door and, standing in the doorway, swabbed us, then moved on to the next cabin.
  11. I think that’s for pickleball. Signups for things like that are in the gym.
  12. I believe the largest balconies for regular balcony cabins on this class of ship are on Caribe deck. They are half covered and half open.
  13. If you win using free play and cash out, the winnings go into your normal casino account. Then you can collect the winnings at the casino cashier like any other.
  14. I received my FCC within a couple of days of leaving the ship. My husband received an FCC a couple of weeks later. He tested negative but was told not to leave our cabin after I was moved to quarantine due to direct exposure. We were disembarked the next day so he just stayed in and packed.
  15. I tested positive during the first cruise of a scheduled back-to-back. I did not receive any paperwork from medical when we disembarked after the first cruise. I filed a claim for the cost of the second cruise with AON. They wanted proof of the positive test which I didn’t have. Fortunately my TA was able to get us FCCs instead. Of course, we also got FCCs for the time in quarantine and eventually received checks from Princess for the balance in our casino accounts and onboard accounts. People should definitely request a copy of their test results before disembarkation.
  16. I tested positive during our sixth cruise post Covid. I always wore a mask except when eating or drinking. Hubby tested positive after we got home. We did not have to fly to port so I definitely caught it during the cruise.
  17. I actually just checked and I didn’t see it. We have done six cruises since the reopening and I could have sworn I saw that option available but I don’t see it on our upcoming cruises. Sorry for the misinformation. I always found that a good way to budget my casino play in the past.
  18. You always set up your casino account first because the only way to cash out is to your casino account. You can purchase casino credits ahead of time on Princess’ website. If you do that you will get cards in your cabin that you take to the cashier for cash to play with. If you play enough you may get some free play in your next cruise that shows up when you create your casino account.
  19. I tested positive during what was supposed to be back-to-back cruises. The positive test was on the morning of day 6 of the first cruise. My husband tested negative and was allowed to stay in our cabin but was told not to leave. I was moved to a deluxe balcony. I was lucky in that the following day was turnaround in our home port. We were disembarked after the ship was cleared. Since we had used a town car service to get to the cruise port, we were taken home (about an hour away) by a medical transport SUV. I thought it was interesting our driver did not wear a mask for the entire trip even though I was sitting right behind her. I did get an FCC for one day for the first cruise and one for the entire second cruise. I also received a check for the balance of my casino account I wasn’t able to cash out.
