We were on the Feb 8 sailing. I developed a cough 4 days in as did my husband. I’m just now getting over it. It was violent coughing fits. Since returning home and chatting with our Facebook group of over 600 members from that cruise, I’m finding that most of us got sick that week. Now I’m thinking we should have notified Carnival. Thoughts?

Anyone know of any excursions in Aruba, Curacao or La Romana that can accommodate a scooter?
-
We are Platinum and our friends traveling with us are first timers. Their reservation is linked to ours. My question is can they board with us? We are in separate cabins.

For some silly reason my friend keeps renting on the ship. She could have bought 2 scooters by now. They really are not that expensive. Mine has a higher weight limit and was only $1600. Heck the lift for my car was more than that.
-
Although it doesn't need it I charge mine every night while sleeping. I have a Pride Victory. Its a heavy duty one and has a 15 mile limit. That being said, they do use more power going uphill so I would calculate about 10 miles per charge. Have never had it run out yet.

I would talk with a PD clinic and have them make the arrangements to ship supplies to the ship. It is done all the time.

My only experience with this was on the NCL Getaway. Put your card in the door and it auto opens. Inside is a button to push when you are leaving the cabin.

I have a really heavy duty cable lock. when needed I lock it to a bench or iron fence. Those are abundant in the islands. LOL

I ride mine right to the door of the plane. They take it from there and stow it with the luggage. We wait to be last off the plane and it is waiting for me at the door again. Easy peasy.

Buy, Buy. BUY. Its the best thing I ever did. I rented one at a casino for the day $15. and the next day I went and bought my own along with a lift on the car so I can go places (the mall) without hubby. We've driven from Ohio to Miami twice with it on the lift with no problems.

Hello. We are going on a Caribbean cruise with Royal Caribbean in late November. Someone in our group is elderly. She can walk but she walks slowly and has difficulty. She usually uses a wheelchair. She is trying to decide whether or not she should go on shore excursions. Does anyone have any experience on this?
The shore excursion we are thinking about for San Juan is "Old and New San Juan." The activity level is "Mild." RC won't let me copy and paste what this means from the pop-up but it talks uneven surfaces and a limited number of steps. The tour itself is: "a guided tour on the historical landmarks in Old and New San Juan." Do you think she would be able to go on this tour?
We are thinking about doing one of Bernard's tours in St Maarten. I don't think she'll be able to go on this tour due to the beach visit.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am pretty sure the tour you are talking about is just a bus tour with a few stops and the opportunity to get off the bus for a few minutes or stay on. They put my folded wheelchair up front by the driver after everyone was on the bus. It is a long walk from the ship to where the tour busses are located if you have any mobility issues.

Our HC cabin on NCL Getaway was huge. Lots of scooter room. Plenty room to turn it around . And the bathroom had lots of grab bars and a fold down shower seat.
-
My scooter has a 15 mile range but I have never challenged it. When on vacation/cruise I charge mine every night.

I personally cannot fly or take a train .Therefore I am limited to cruises .Although I have major walking difficulty I will do everything until the day that I cannot do it any more.
I am in somewhat the same situation. I say TRAVEL WHY YOU CAN. In May we cruised on NCL Getaway in a HC cabin. It was great/ Lots of scooter room and the bathroom was great. Grab bars everywhere and a fold down shower seat.
I take my scooter right up to the door of the plane and it is waiting when I get off. People everywhere are so accommodating.

Hi Judy,
Do you find that you are invisible to able bodied, I'm the size of a small country :) but it seems as though I'm not there.
Pete
OMG I've been saying that. I'm like a Super Hero. As soon as I sit on my scooter I am invisible.Very frustrating. I don't want special preference. I just want the same courtesy given to walking pedestrians.

Loving your review. Makes me feel like I'm doing it all over again. I know you don't recognize my CC name but you know me as Countdown Connie.

It really is quite simple. Don't sign up for the UBP and you won't be charged the tips charge. Same goes for the Specialty dining. But leave the rest of us alone and Quit your bitchin!!!

Hopefully I don't get flamed for this. On our next cruise, I was going to bring my mother-in-law one of those wheeled walkers (It is a walker that had a seat on it and all wheels. a lot of time older folks use them to help them get around). She doesn't generally use one as she is in overall good health, but our cruise is pretty port intensive and she wanted it to help her get around and save her energy. She gets tired out walking long distances and her legs have given out on her before. I have a spare one that was my grandpa's I told her she can use. The issue is she is about 700 miles away from us, and I do not have the time available to drive it to her before the cruise. And while it is collapsible, it doesn't fit in my suitcase. I could always wheel it around the airport, BUT that makes me feel weird as I don't need it personally and I wouldn't want to take up any carry-on space for other passengers on my flight that might actually need space for a walker. Can I treat it like a checked bag and just have it go with the suitcases? Or is that a bad idea? Is it best just saying sorry, it just won't work?
I am pretty sure that all airlines do not charge for mobility devices. They don't charge me for my scooter.

I know thiss info doesn;t help you but might be helpful to anyone now considering aTravescoot. It's been report on CC that Travelscoot has to reached out customers in the area to arrange for a perspective buyer test ride it .
That's an excellent reason to deal with a brick and mortar business. And you can check out several brands. Think about it...would you buy a car you knew nothing about or couldn't test drive on the internet?

On Cozumel I got a massage right on the beach. There is a curtained area under Palm trees but that was on a Carnival cruise. Not sure where NCL docks.

I agree that the house blend is still the best red wine on the list.
I own a wine shop. I will try to figure out who makes that blend for them. Maybe one of my reps will know. My guess is Gallo or Mondavi. My cruise is in 40 days. I'll report back.

We just got off the Getaway today. I know some had heard that NCL was expanding their wine by the glass choices so I wanted to post what I took at the Atrium Bar. From what I remember from our Escape cruise this past November, it does appear that they did add a few more choices.
Exactly what I was wanting to know. T hanks

New to NCL and wondering what brand of wine is served with the UBP?

We were on this cruise too. In a Havana overlooking the pool. Loved it. I thought the lido was pretty much like that on the Breeze. There are 2 Lido buffets. I never understood that concept.
Did you guys get sick on the cruise or right after? Loads of people I’ve chatted with afterwards were sick. 4/4 in our group. I’m still coughing a little.
