  1. Same here no immigration etc for Curaçao at all just Barbados before we sailed and immigration the day we arrived back there. Good tip re the passport photo. There was one port that demanded to see the photo ID before we got through to the main port. Can't remember which one now ... think it was St Kitts.
  2. It's usually fine in the Med. and European cruises but this was a specific menu for the Caribbean. Never had a problem before and have been there lots in the past.
  3. I am more than happy for spicy stuff on the menu but when it is all spicy it means I have no choice at all. Surely they can half a 50:50 menu. Re the MDR am not sure as I thought I saw something spicy?
  4. Must admit we didn't like the Beach House Menu on our Caribbean cruise - it was a special menu and everything seemed to have chilli in it or other strong spices ! Even some of the desserts ! Why they have changed it, no idea -- perhaps just a few Caribbean specialities, not the whole lot !
  5. Thanks for that info. I know when we booked we were told who was providing the flight for next year when I asked so I guessed then that P&O already know the line up for next year. (I think you yourself have already told us many pages back).
  6. Apparently the pilot was from Gatwick which made us smile hoping if he knew the way to Manchester. Those cabin crew didn't half work hard on both flights. Bet they hit their steps .
  7. We reverter to the tried and tested go up and ask for a table and have a pager system on Britannia this time like most folk. It worked fine so why they need that stupid holiday virtual queue who knows. It clearly doesn't work when it's busy.
  8. Re flights and the pressure on airlines. Last Saturday we flew with TUI. The cabin attendant told me that out of the whole crew on the Dreamliner only 2 were from Manchester and they had all been pulled from here there and everywhere to staff the plane .. including the one of the pilots. I think the industry is struggling across the board and doing what it can to keep things going. Ps it was a great flight!
  9. To be fair we thought the MDR was ok and if you compare it to some 4 star hotels in the UK you have more choice. Perhaps it's us being too easy to please but when compared to the price we paid for the cruise we still think its good value for money.
  10. Hi we stayed on the ship until our leaving time which was 1.30pm. We had to leave the cabin for 9am which is not too bad. Everything was open as normal as for some people it was their first full.day. Am taking it that you fly on a Saturday. If not it will be some people's last day! Everything was open in terms of dining rooms and speciality restaurants. Cases were collected the night before as normal but you could leave your carry on bags in the theatre. Lots of shops in the terminal.if you wanted to get off and have a wander that morning. We were OK staying onboard and just parked ourselves in Java and relaxed there rather than get all hot and sweaty before a long flight. May be tempted to do the Copacabana Beach stay before flying next year as we quite liked it when we did a half day there. Hope you have a great time ans the weather alittle less of the liquid sunshine ;-)
  11. The cruise terminal area is worth getting off the ship for on its own. We loved the atmosphere there ... it was our favourite day. We did an excursion though which was amazing but like someone has said the terminal area is fun. We envy you..:-)
  12. We asked at time.of booking last week and were reassured it was TUI for January 2025. I asked directly. I asked twice
  13. One thing we noticed in the Caribbean is that the sun goes down so much quicker .. the sunsets didn't seem.as pretty but that may be the weather. Stunning tonight
  14. Have to say that we didn't see anything like this in the Caribbean. What a beautiful sky this evening.
  15. Must be my mistake but we can't remember keeping the keys. Whatever we don't worry about leaving keys as long as the house keys etc aren't on them. We always record mileage etc. Tbh we generally use the Radisson Blu Manchester and their service is spot on
  16. We've cancelled cruises twice with a TA and never had to pay them anything .. that's a national company as well.
  17. We booked for next year on the ship last week and the person selling us the cruise was able to look up the flights and confirmed that the flight would be with TUI as this year. I asked for specific details re the flight and wouldn't expect them to give such specific details if it wasn't going to be the case ... or am i being naïve?
  18. No we always use the Holiday Inn. Just saying we've always had to give keys in and it's been fine.
  19. We've never arranged parking either at a hotel or provider before a flight or cruise and not been asked to leave our keys with whoever we are using. Have never had a problem
  20. I imagine, as in all things in the newspapers, we will only know part of the story. Pretty drastic action for some reason ...
  21. When global warming hits the North Wales coast to that extent we will all be long past caring ......
  22. We never thought to ask the cabin steward re the biscuits - we just it that it was something that had 'disappeared'. No major issue - it probably means we only put on half a stone in weight rather than 3 quarters 😉
  23. I think the words 'bike' 'your' 'on' come to mind not necessarily in that order ! Have done as a child but past that now. Perhaps one day if we have a heat wave like 1976 !!
