OK it you have a good TA. It's the opposite for us so we prefer to book direct for PO and Celebrity

We got a really good deal last year for a Caribbean cruise - good discount, extra onboard spend and a low deposit. We.dont tend to use a TA as we've had some bad experiences with ours in the past bit we were happy with the outcome. May have to cancel it sadly but at least the deposit was very low it we do .......

Sorry just seen this .. teach me not reading all the thread. Their loss as we may just cancel and go with another cruise line 2026 if we are not tied to them.

Saldy we are probably having to cancel our cruise in January 2025. It says we can only move it to a cruise before January 26. We can't find one we can do or really want to do before that and ha e other holidays booked for 2025. Is it worth us asking if we can move to one in 2026 as we've seen a number of fly cruises we really fancy....... Or is it wishful thinking ????

I'd still ask for clarification... better be safe than sorry. You can only.regrer not asking them....

Tbh I'd email them and ask them to put it in writing what they cover. Don't trust insurance companies one bit and think they will do anything they can to get out of paying. The more evidence you have, the better should you need to claim.

Would you recommend this cruise .... Off topic sorry but it's either this or we lose a deposit and book nothing ...

We have done ski breaks in Lapland many times in Finnish Lapland in February which is above the arctic circle and know that on some rare occasions they have minimum snow early December. That is rare though and Santa season over there so is very unusual as it is their main tourist time. Have looked at weather sites and can't see why they would not operate in Dec that high up in Norway.

Tbh I just thought it had to of equal or greater value so of it was Saver or select, it didn't matter. I'm not expert though as this post shows .

We are currently looking at a cruise on Aurora first 2 weeks of December 2025 to Norway. One of the main reasons to go would be to do the snow based excursions like the huskies etc etc. Have just seen a note saying that in the Autumn you can not do the snow based excursions. Sounds silly but think I am right that the meteorological winter starts Dec 1st .. though I always think of it as the 21st December winter solstice. Not sure which PO use ! Has anyone been on a cruise like this in December and were you allowed to do the snow activities? If not back to the drawing board ...

We've purchased all of our excursions too so will be cancelling them before we cancel the whole thing to make sure we get the money back. We probably would anyway but prefer to sort them out. Your package above looks very complicated! Let us know how you go on.

Many thanks for your help. Makes it easier as the cruises we were looking at were all lower than the 6k. Just another question... does the new cruise have to been within 12 months of the old one ?

Sadly we are having to transfer our cruise for January 2025 to another cruise. We know that the cruise we move to has to be of the same or more in terms of cost so are trying to find out how our current cruise is costed. We have paid about £5k for the cruise itself and over £1k for the premium flights. We are wondering if the seats class as an optional extra in the same way that the drinks package does. I.e. does the cruise cost come out as 5k or 6k? Thanks if anyone has experience of this sort of transfer.

I might be wrong but think they are over the Live Lounge so there may be some noise. F deck isn't too bad (we've had an aft cabin there a number of times) but we would avoid anything lower.

Very much doubt it as October half term will have come and gone and the Christmas one too far away. Re children not in school ...it is harder than it's ever been to get an authorised absence but parents are happy to pay the fines as it is still loads cheaper than the price they pay term time.

Hi, we last sailed with Celebrity on the EDGE in 2019 when she was new. We are thinking of treating ourselves to another Celebrity cruise, preferably on an Edge class ship, and are wondering if arrangements for the evening meals in the 4 main dining rooms are the same. We really enjoyed being able to book the exact times and meals before we went and / using the app to organise meals once on board. (We know that this is possible for the select dining restaurants) Are you still able to do that? Thanks for any help

We did last year and to cut a very long story short despite customer services at Southampton getting involves we still didn't get a booking for the Retreat. We were told that it was a system error for everyone but it was clear on CC that others had booked. By the time Customer Services tried to book we could only be put on a waiting list. To be honest, we didn't miss it at all so we didn't follow up the matter further. If you want a space there I'd contact PO directly asap and if no luck customer services. Don't be fobbed off and take it to the top if needs be

Hopefully we will get a wider choice of itineraries in the UK then. It is currently very limited and I am disappointed that my question was merged with this thread so that my specific UK concerns weren't addressed. Oh well.

Thanks. We were able to ages ago but you are talking in 2011 - 2013. We did upgrade last time on Edge but that was a special cruise and we'd be looking to save some money not spend more next time unless it was lots cheaper. 😉 Ps it cost us over £900 to move to a SV cabin as the reviews on the IV cabins weren't brilliant at time. It was a great decision !

Sorry to jump.on this thread but am just seeking clarification that if a cruise becomes cheaper than you paid hen booking you can get your cruise price dropped before final payment. We used to be able to in the UK but that was a while back. We are thinking of returning to Celebrity at some point so the info would be really helpful. Thank you.

We have had many wonderful cruises with Celebrity to the Western / Eastern Med. Our last cruise on EDGE was incredible and we would love to sail on an EDGE class ship from Southampton. We know that APEX will be based there but the choice re destinations seems very limited (mainly Norway) with very few cruises sailing to Spain, Portugal or the Canary Islands - or even the Med. Is there any chance that in the future an EDGE class ship from Southampton can have more creative itineraries please.
