  1. A beautiful day here in North Wales. Can't believe it's the weekend and the sun is out. Off to Bodnant Gardens in search of Autumn colours. 19 working days left before we retire .... doesn't sound a lot !
  2. And without it we would't have met such good friends eh ;-) Re the Teddy bears ... Mr and Mrs T Bear go everywhere with us. On the Avatar. Think they are about 28 yrs old now... ;-)
  3. Can tell you are on a cruise.. you're getting all soft and mushy! You been on that drinks package? 😀😃🙂🙃😊
  4. Something for me to read on our cruise to keep me quiet. Don't shoot me but I either read Agatha Christie or Jeremy Clarkson !!!!
  5. Morning the Pete14 family Could you send a wine list please if they have one re what you can have per bottle or glass. The £14 seems expensive. We are trying to decide whether or not to take up the 10% off the drinks package offer but don't think we'd make use of it.
  6. I think Gervaise knew Pete was there and always wanted to meet him .....
  7. Great to hear you are having a great Time all. Can't believe you have Gervais there ... a great after-dinner speaker! The sea looks so calm and the weather perfect. If it was only as good here in Wales !!! Say hello Mrs Pete and Pete Jr Ps You do realise that after this you may earn a special badge 😉 😀 😜 😄 👍
  8. Have a great time all and keep sending those photos.
  9. Is there an up to date one anyone? Mainly for Europe?
  10. If all else fails, I know of a good live youtube feed that he can take a photo of --- we won't tell 🙂 Seriously, looking forward to your reports - have a safe journey down and we hope you all have a great first cruise since you know what.
  11. I always find that today and the week leading up to it so moving and we make sure that we have times of remembrance at school. It is important that the present and future generations never forget ... My family were relatively 'fortunate'. My mum's bother was sent home from the army for medical reasons and my dad was I think too young to be called up, but worked on a farm anyway. My dad's eldest brother was in Burma, - my dad told me it was the Chindits. My Uncle spoke about it very rarely and after getting home would only talk about his experiences on very rare occasions. I don't think we can even imagine what these young men and women lived through - and the nation as a whole - during those times. Lest we forget ........
  12. Welcome home Kalos - have missed you and was wondering if you were ok. Must have missed the message about your travels. Nothing like fish, chips and mushy peas 🙂
  13. We've had any good meals in the speciality restaurants on Celebrity, but also some rubbish ones and we paid a LOT more for them than on P&O. We've always found the restaurants on P&O good value in comparison. Having said that, we've never had a 'bad one' on P&O but am sure we would say something different it we had. I think out problem is that are English and don't like to complain so put up with it all on whatever cruise line we are on ................................
  14. Have been to Biddulph Grange today on one of the few sunny days we have jad recently. It's been a beautiful day. Have load of photos but only posted a few
  15. Hi hcat, remember chatting with you and the late vtcruiser when EDGE was being built etc up until our cruise on her in August 2019. Sadly due to Covid and other issues we have yet to return to the EDGE class ships, but as we retire soon we are looking at some of the new itineraries for 2025 with interest. Hope you are well and we can 'chat again' if we book Us Prestos
  16. Sorry, can't answer your question, but welcome to CC. I can't promise everyone will be gentle, but most of us are ok ... ish 🙂 🙂😉
  17. We are so sorry Josy - words will probably seem hollow. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family. Hugs across the internet tonight.
  18. We have a strategy - we find a table then go one at a time while the other protects the table ! To be honest we avoid the days when we know it will be manic and use the buffet when everyone else has got off and peace resumes !
  19. Re music - am surprised that Pete14 hasn't mentioned this one before and I am ashamed that I haven't either. The amazing Rick Wakeman.
  20. No words Josy - they are never enough. Thoughts and prayers with your family x
  21. Its been interesting reading about the buffet v the MDR each morning for breakfast. First of all - that butter dish .... ugh Having said that we either have cabin service for breakfast if we are on an excursion or the buffet. We would use the MDR but find that it is open too early for us when we just want to have a lie in and not have to be up with an alarm clock. Perhaps when we retire we won't be as concerned about being ruled by an alarm clock. Then again, I am a bit of a night owl. I prefer to go to bed very late on holiday and wake up about 9ish. This retirement lark is going to be a real game changer me thinks 😉
