Must admit it has given us a taste for land holidays. Azamara was in the other day and we didn't envy them at all ... it is great to stay here and soak up the atmosphere and stay a while.

Apparently this is the sister hotel of the Capadimonte... they've really kept it modernised though so bet the others are the same. This one is the other side of town. Wld recommend it to anyone and everyone

We have been looking at the Facebook page and thinking of Wales. Looks like good weather for everyone. Been to Pompeii today and had a great time until they decided to cancel most trains so no trains from about 1pm until 4.35pm. To say we played squash on the way back to Sorrento is an understatement.. but an experience. !!!

Hi it is called the Grand Hotel de la Ville . About a 5 to 10 min walk from the centre. Not sure what it is like in August but may be checking out some time. It is excellent

As promised the ones with the sun in ...

Morning all from beautiful Sorrento. The sun has come out today after a damp start yesterday. Have to say the hotel is amazing... probably the best we've ever stayed in in Italy. The room furniture is all inlaid wood .... the view from our room 180 degrees across the bay and the food and service faultless. Lovely friendly people. Saw some cruise ships and did not envy them as this really has reminded us of the joys of a land holiday. Have attached some photos of the hotel to date ... Will post some sunnier ones later !!!

Have packed for every weather apart from snow !!! Have 2 small umberellas and a decent waterproof !! And me t shirts and shorts JUST incase ..... in my dreams 😉

Reading this makes me twitch ! Sorry if this is off topic but where were the quarantine areas on Britannia? We cancelled a cruise on Ventura as we knew our cabin was being used. As someone has said, we thought the days of Covid being like the Black Death Plague were over .....

Where is this? Is it our local Park? TBH we haven't been as much now that we are limited to an hour a day. Shame on us as it is a lovely area. When we retire we will make more use 😉

We are off to Sorrento for our first land holiday abroad since Feb 2020. Been reading up on the Easter processions etc etc in Sorrento and just hoping that the weather will warm up a bit and the rain keep away. Have NO idea what to pack so have packed for every sort of weather. Thank goodness Jet2 do 22Kgs and 10Kgs hand luggage !! Have heard that Sicily has had snow -------- for some reason have not packed our ski gear for our holiday ..... Southern Italy and April doesn't make me think snow !!! Must admit, have found it all really stressful. We booked this about 18 months ago --- been a long time coming. TBH it will be strange not to be at our little piece of heaven by the sea in Wales. Then again, we have loads of long weekends and bank Holidays coming along in May 🙂

Many thanks for these photos - they are REALLY helpful for anyone wanting to book an aft cabin. We have been trying to find a photo of where the canopies are for ages and haven't been able to find one. We had booked F729 in the past and have booked the one above for our cruise in Jan 2024. Looks ideal if you like the shade - I'm a bit more of a green house 'flower' and prefer more sun. Thanks again

Oh nooooooooooooooo. I remember once in Rome, we ate at a lovely family restaurant and I ordered some sort of lamb. It turned out to be lambs head and there was NO meat on it whatsoever. No eyeballs either Apart from that the meals are the best we have ever tasted and all of the locals queued up to eat there. Didn't complain -- just decided it wasn't for me .... ugh
