  1. I cannot imagine how painful that injury must have been, my goodness I am so sorry to hear it. I am glad you were able to get right off the ship and did not have to wait to get help and pain medication. What a blessing. We had a sea evac three weeks ago on Serenade on the North route and they had the coast guard take the passenger off from Halifax so they were in Canada. Of course no idea what happened or how it turned out but a lot of us were praying they had travel insurance. You never need it until you need it. We always just buy Royals as well. Hopefully never need it. Prayers for a speedy recovery and safe trip home!
  2. Thrilled to see you back cruising! We finally made it back after two years in May and again in September. It’s hard not to catch the cruising bug again. We were on Liberty about the same as Mariner. She is due for a refresh but we barely noticed it. Heat was overwhelming. I think we are just getting older and it is harder to take. Pacing is important 😂 Your son has grown in to such a handsome young man. I bet he is very popular in school…he just has that confident look. Great job mom and dad!
  3. The shows were wonderful! Food was decent MDR was struggling with a very full ship and many dishes arrived only lukewarm at best. Tasted great just not hot.
  4. So we just got off on Sunday from a Western Caribbean trip. We had multiple issues to the point where we were given 10% off our next cruise. 1. My suitcase showed up 5hours after the rest of my group. Dropped at the door no one in sight. I bring it in, put it on the bed to unpack it and immediately smelled an awful smell. Unzip it and the entire bottom of it is soaked in red wine. Then I realize it is dripping out of my bag. Someone else smuggled a bottle of red wine in their checked bag which broke all over mine. By then it was 6:00 and we had dinner reservations at Chops so I hustled down to guest services after I separated what was not soaked in stinky wine and put the bag on the balcony. They picked up everything and laundered it. Only lost one shirt and hat to permanent stains. I appreciate that they did what they could to fix it. It was an absolute mess bringing up the luggage day one and took apparently until late that night to get it all delivered. They said a freight elevator was out. 2, Fridge never cooled. They replaced it …the second one did not either and I did not bother to ask again. I saw them wheeling at least three more down the halls. 3. the rubber floor of our balcony was literally a gooey melted mess. In 15 cruises I have never seen anything like it. Holes in it from the legs sinking down in the muck. The maintenance manager said there were many on the ship like that and due to age and what they had to do to fix them they could not be repaired until dry dock. After he came by the last time a letter showed up from the hotel manager with the discount for my next cruise. I did not request anything at all do appreciate how they tried to make me feel better. The room steward was so awesome but clearly looked worn out as did many of the waiters and bar tenders. The ship is past due needing an update. If 2024 is the next one I would consider booking another ship if that is an option. We had a wonderful time and it in no way ruined our trip just relaying that I will wait to book anything else on Liberty until after her next redo.
  5. We have the Klymet blow up mattress it is quite small for packing and an absolute necessity. Last cruise in May we would have not made it without it. The extra comforters really don't work. There is not a simple solution you do have to blow these up but they are super easy to inflate. I bought one after reading one of CKRobyn's reviews several years ago...she commented above. 🙂
  6. It is 115-150 per person per day depending on whether you want a park hopper pass or not. Less is for one day one park. However it is INSANELY hot and crowded right now. So if you do decide to do it and can book the day thru the ship so you don't have to worry about the return time, I would consider it if you will be happy just strolling around and taking it all in for the experience. Ride waits can be brutal just about all the time now since they implemented the new Genie + system (which costs extra). We are annual pass holders and just got back a couple weeks ago and it is kind of shocking how big the crowds have gotten since the beginning of the year. We also all came home sick...not with Covid...but it is a germy place for sure, LOL.
  7. Have you done this lately? What is the biggest concern. Atlanta these days is a hot mess with short staff at TSA so they have really slowed people down going thru the airport here. Is that a concern at Hobby too?
  8. Normally we are walk offs with luggage. Never been out of Galveston for a trip so really looking forward to it. Doing the research looks like about 30 minutes from the port to the airport. Feels like allowing 7:30AM walk off...generous 90 minutes to get thru customs and to the airport we should be there around 9AM. Anyone had any experience with this lately that can gauge if that sounds about right? Our next flight option is 2PM and I sure hate to pick that one if I don't have to. 🙂
  9. Hard pass on the Stroganoff. The rest is not terrible the braised beef is one of the most tender dishes and well worth eating. Hope you have a great trip!

  11. Well now I am wondering if I screwed up and ordered the tests from the wrong site. I followed the Royal link and ordered from Optum. Then I pulled up the Emed site and looke like they want you to buy theirs. ugh. I will go watch a you tube. Hope I didn't just waste 100.00 on tests I can't use via Emed.
  12. Hi! I have searched and searched the Royal website. I ordered my Binax test today and I know it will be a proctored test but how do you make the appointment to do it? Does an instruction sheet come with the tests? Is there a phone number with them to call? Thanks in advance!
