  1. Yes, I understand this completely and AFAIK all cruise lines work this way, not just Princess. I didn't book this on Princess.com (used a TA), but even without that I can see multiple fare codes for Princess by using other sites (against T&C to mention them here, but several sites allow you to see this). Don't understand how that answers why Princess said I had to rebook instead of refare. I've done this a few times on different lines and except for MSC (which *always* makes you rebook) it seems "random" to me whether you can refare or renook. Perhaps it's the rep you get, or perhaps some TAs I use are better than others 🙂 Regardless, it made no difference to me then, and doesn't now other than curiosity. I didn't lose anything by rebooking instead of refaring.
  2. Sorry, i don't understand your response at all. It seems like you are trying to tell me why I had to rebook instead of refare? Or are you saying something else?
  3. First, I thought I made it clear that with all of the changes I'm unsure what perks I have...this is my main reason for calling. Second, there is a difference between rebooking and refaring. My point was I was unsure *why* I couldn't just refare and had to rebook - this is *independent* of the plus package. Lastly, I'm very appreciative to the OP and others on different threads that have made this point clear about old vs. new packages, but that being said, to be *sure* of what I have, I'm calling Princess...not sure why that would confuse or perplex anyone. Again, happy for the reassurances here, but I want to hear it directly from Princess (and I know, reps are wrong all the time so that doesn't guarantee anything).
  4. Yes, that is what I think but I'm still going to call to see exactly what I get. I'm honestly confused about the perks I have. And I bought it included in the fare. Like I said, I had the cruise booked, there was a massive price drop so I canceled and rebooked (not sure why they couldn't refare).
  5. Thank you so much for this. I got the email and only skimmed through the threads that talked about this - thinking I understood everything - so didn't realize this until reading this thread. The funny thing is I was just telling my wife that Princess is so confusing with what you get and don't get with these packages. I'm not a newbie cruiser (but haven't cruised Princess yet) and I'm completely confused by desserts, fitness classes, prix fixed menus, etc. I can't keep track of it all. Anyway, due to a price drop, I think we cancelled and rebooked in Feb of this year so *should* be good...but I'm not 100% sure, lol. Going to call Princess now to confirm what we have and don't have.
  6. The prices people are quoting is to upgrade...so they already have the standard wifi. You can toggle back and forth with a single package, but only one can use it at a time. Usually it is cheaper to buy the 2 package deal instead of two 1 package deals.
  7. It's instantaneous. You may need to exit the booking and come back in.
  8. Ty...I just got OBC for something that couldn't be canceled.
  9. The same thing happened to me. I had my TA apply 2k in cards and they applied 1600 and reduced the price by 400...which then affected his commission. He couldn't figure out why or even how X did that.
  10. Yeah, I'm the OP of that thread. You can definitely use it the way @SRQbeachgirl wants to. As for the no refund, a few people have now said that X will refund to a new GC. I suspect when they removed the 1k limit there was a lot of confusion on their end so maybe the policy has evolved a little. We won't know for sure until someone tries it 😀 One other thing to watch out for is it seems that some trip insurances will NOT cover portions of the trip paid with a gift card. We typically use nationwide and they said they *think* it should be covered, lol, but we called another and they said no. I think the issue is being able to prove you a) bought the card and b) actually used it to pay for the cruise.
  11. Enjoy and travel safely. What parts are you visiting?
  12. In Europe now on the Poesia so no YC. I think what @morpheusofthesea described is correct for the Caribbean and YC equipped ships. I'll find out in a couple.of days, but we were told the procedure is as @CruisingFox27 said. With priority, you basically show up and get in the next available tender. No need to wait for your number to be called.
  13. I knew pax got on and off at the various ports in Europe on MSC...very different from the US and Caribbean, lol. However, we just left Iceland yesterday and I was surprised that people embarked in Reykjavik...and not just a few...it was probably close to 100.
  14. That was a big draw for us too. That being said, if this time next year things are the same with Ukraine and Russia...would you feel nervous about visiting that part of Europe?
  15. More info...shuttle is every 40min and it drops you at Harpa in town
  16. See post 103...was never my intent to attack you. If you felt I did then please accept my apology.
  17. Everything you said is correct. I was initially dubious of the claim. The OP.showed it to me, and I researched it. He was right. At that point, the ONLY disagreement was the degree to which it is done. OP implied it was commonplace...it isn't...it's one ship. It is not at all.my intent to attack the OP. Yes, it was my intention to make fun of the caps and emojis in the original post...but I also said repeatedly that I agreed with his position (the weed part). If someone shows it's more than one ship on carnival I'll happily say I'm wrong and the OP was right. But if it is only one ship then I'd like the same people (not the OP) to agree that one ship isn't the same as fleet wide.
  18. I think everyone on this thread agrees with this. The only disagreement is the degree to which it occurs. Some people don't understand what words mean and then get upset when you try to explain it to them...or quote pithy sayings since they realize the argument is lost. But you are 109% correct. And if you look at my earlier posts I clearly said some dogs.living on some ships for some sailings. And everything posted so far backs that up.
  19. I've seen people ask about taxis, etc...lol, I'm one of them. Anyway, I can confirm that MSC runs free shuttles from the port to the center of town. We aren't taking one today so I'm a little unsure of exactly how they work, but it seems to be every 30min. Of course with MSC, YMMV...but regardless, no need for a taxi or to walk.
  20. Hmm... it's a case of facts and a dictionary. Maybe look up the definition of backpedaling along with exaggeration. Not sure you know what either of those mean. I guess because you can't find where I said anything to prove your point, and you continually prove mine, you are feeling triggered? If so, I'd advise you to take WEED (SKUNK) Lol, I feel bad for you. Please reply and get the last word in. You can quote Yogi or anyone else again instead of facts. I promise to not reply to you again I know it will make you feel better.
  21. Lol, my day so far has been VERY fun...and I haven't had any WEED. Is yours good or bad?
  22. Lol, once again you prove my point...thank you. What I quoted as an exaggeration was dogs loving on ships. Since you yourself note it is ONE ship, I think saying ships meets the definition of exaggeration. I guess the only surprising and unbelievable thing is that anyone would be surprised by this. How is this a big deal? There are drug sniffing dogs everywhere...no big deal.
  23. If you read the post you quoted me on you'll see I'm at sea. I'm not sure if be able to do what I'm doing on my smartphone in the 20th century. So... upgraded already??? And thanks for proving me right. Why do I need to watch the video when you will.do it for me and confirm what I've been saying all along.
