Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Disclaimer-I don’t dance or rather my husband won’t but I always enjoy watching when on a cruise. We did a first TA in Sept/Oct and I had heard good things about the largest dancefloor at sea and was looking forward to seeing it in action. I personally think it was very underused resource. There were maybe 8 couples dancing most nights, the usual mix of outright show offs and the competent. I can see why it would be intimidating to get on the floor as a newbie unless it was a freestyle/disco dance. Just my opinion but why are the professional dancers underused in the evenings? They did a quick maybe five minute exhibition dance and then they were off. It would surely be a good opportunity for them to get involved, help with dancefloor etiquette and get some more people dancing without feeling unwelcome.
  2. Thanks for all the replies, have tested negative this morning,so onboard tomorrow. Sure I will find lots to enjoy.
  3. Southampton on Thurs then Le Havre and TA. I think there is a short trip to Hamburg at the moment?
  4. No we get on Thursday. I guess cases have gone up although they could be being ultra careful for Canada. Someone joining in NYC for the Canadian leg has had the same email.
  5. Lol, I have heard that as well, but we have an online observed test, they may wonder why we are messing about with orange juice.
  6. So as the title says. This has been the most stressful prep ever for a cruise. Arranging observed tests, all the paperwork, Arrivecan etc and then this morning an email and oh joy mask mandates are back in place to be worn in all public areas except when eating and drinking! Kind of hoping I get a positive result tomorrow so can cancel.
  7. Ah thank you for the info, just have to keep fingers crossed. I am having nightmares about these tests in NYC. Good job my blood pressure doesn’t have to be checked to board!
  8. Hi, if you are still looking for a test,I have just arranged to use On Point video observed antigen tests. They were very helpful, can set up a zoom link ,appts available 24hrs/day/7 days $18.99 pp and bring your own Uk govt approved test with a CE stamp
  9. Ah sorry just read it properly now, the 8 day transatlantic is on there as well. Presumably that doesn't mean 2 tests😂 Still makes no sense as the cruise won’t reach Canada until what 10 days later when everyone could be positive.
  10. This just gets more ridiculous. Are they saying we need an observed test to do Southampton to Le Havre and then another Le Havre to New York a day later? If so they can take a running jump. I am already so over trying to find somewhere for non U.S citizens to get tested in NYC
  11. We are having a similar issue. Appears to be very little useful info out there. We are arriving on Cunard transatlantic on 23/9 to Brooklyn and going on NCl the same day from Manhattan so need a rapid antigen test in a short timescale. I have found Medrite on w42nd st and have emailed them,I will let you know what they say.The other option I was wondering about was taking UK tests with us and booking a telemed appt.Sounds like we may have time to do them whilst in the check in queue😂
