Look for a bag in the draw. Nice quality one.

Sorry, there are no real sales. Cruisers think they are saving but when the price increases by 20% and there is a discount that amounts to 10%, that is obviously not a savings but it is a so called "sale".

Hi! Quick couple of questions for our upcoming cruise
keesar replied to stvntra's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You should bring along your final Booking Confirmation-Guest Copy. This shows your perks and OBC. This has been helpful for me. Also, I have been asked to show my credit card upon boarding. This is done to confirm what I had reported when checking in online. Have a great trip. -
We were not able to order from the MDR menu on Reflection. It depends on the staffing numbers and the management. So we made arrangements to dine in the MDR.

Celebrity Beyond Anytime dining not available
keesar replied to cvil8888's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I would not worry. When we were on Beyond, we were told that everyone had Anytime Dining despite what time you were assigned. We even had "reservations" but were told it was Anytime Dining and reservations not needed. Have a good trip. -
Speciality Dining - do they tend to sell out pre-cruise
keesar replied to MissisM's topic in Celebrity Cruises
On our cruise on Ascent, we did book pre-cruise as there was a modest discount. However, when we got onboard, discounts were ranging from 25% to 40% off. My opinion was it was related to the increase in price and how good the food was in the MDR. However, if you are celebrating a special event, book well in advance just in case. -
Not free anymore.

Officer visibility is not that important to me. However, self-promoting oneself is not something I like on a cruise. Gets tiring really quickly in my opinion.

You will notice some differences between Celebrity from the 2000 and 2006 time period. This is not to say you will not have a good time. The major changes I have found include room attendants no longer having an assistant and being responsible for more rooms by self. They tend to be overwhelmed by the increased responsibilities. Food also tended to be of better quality but that is my opinion. Still, we have had great cruises on Eclipse and other Celebrity ships despite the changes. I also do miss those smaller classic ships.

We did a cruise on Celebrity and had a good time. In retrospect, I wished we had considered Princess or Holland America for the itinerary. They go to places that Celebrity does not go to. We enjoyed a trip to the Yukon in Skagway and we did a float plane tour in Ketchikan. Both were highlights. Expect rain in Alaska. Some ports will get 230 days of measurable precipitation a year. Dress for wet, cool weather. You can get some nice weather which is a bonus.

When we visited Samana, ship time was not the same as port time. You really have to pay attention. However, on the vast majority of ports, the two times are the same.

When we were there in late August, the temperatures were in the mid to upper 70's. I don't consider that cold.

Port Canaveral - Equinox in Jan 2025 - which terminal

Our cruise from Port Canaveral was a pleasant experience. It was not as busy as Port Everglades. -
Port Canaveral - Equinox in Jan 2025 - which terminal

Looks like we need either a poll or a pool for this important question. -
The buffet and the Mast Grill will definitely be open. The Spa Cafe was open on our cruise but that is subject to change. Sushi on 5 is a good choice but there are fees there. Many find it worthwhile, especially those avoiding the buffet that day. Can be crazy.

On the Ascent, we had requested for body pillows but they were not available. They had two types. The down and the hypo-allergenic pillows were the choices. I remember the days when there were at least 4 choices on the pillow menus left in the room.
-
Not down pillows. They are queen size.

There are no coupons or booklets on Celebrity. You must show your card to get a drink. On some ships, you need to show your card to get access to the area serving drinks. No sharing.
-
There is a semi-private area in Murano that will accommodate larger groups. In the Tuscan Grill, larger groups are accommodated in the rear on the port side.
-
Do you mind waiting in an area at the Terminal until you are called? That is the risk you take. The good news with a time of 2 pm is that there will be shorter lines everywhere. Very beneficial at the buffet as we tend to stay away until around that time. Not relaxing around noon to 1 pm as it is like animal house.

Clarification on dining times on Beyond
keesar replied to Justafigment27's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I spent a good deal of time booking reservations for the MDRs on the Beyond. When we showed up the first night, we were told there were no reservations as it was Anytime Dining for all. Told just show up where we wanted to eat when we wanted to eat. What was even more confusing is that we had an assigned time to eat on the website as well. Food and service was excellent. -
On Beyond, I asked several different staff members in Blu if I could order from the MDR. The answers were consistent. "NO". However, on the Ascent, the answer was "YES". I guess it depends on the staff, especially the number of staff working I would guess.
-
Our "assigned" dining was Late but we were told it is Anytime Dining. As mentioned, show up where and when you want to eat and you will be fine.

Sometimes I wonder whether the pizza or cardboard box tastes better. 🍕 I find the pizzas as being bland. I try to get them to load pepperoni, sausage and onions on the pizza. That helps alot.

Silent disco & headline the band taking over?
keesar replied to bandp407's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Typically, you see about a dozen couples dancing on the small dance floor in the Atrium. That is about all that can fit in that small space. There are many more being able to dance to the sounds of the Silent Disco. I see it more as another cruise ship activity rather than "a takeover". And people who are participating in the Silent Disco also feel that is the right mood and love that activity.
