Do any of you have a preference for size or age of ship?
sverigecruiser replied to sjde's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
We prefer new, big ships. But we "need" ship within ship so that we still can get outside space and lounge without lots of people. When in MSCs Yacht Club lots of people is only a problem at the end of the cruise, standing in line for a cab! -
I can't think of any portcity in the Western Mediterranean with many direct flights from the US. We prefer to sail from Barcelona.

And better!

What MSC itineraries are on your to-do/bucket list?

What MSC itineraries are on your to-do/bucket list?
sverigecruiser replied to no1talks's topic in MSC Cruises
Your first cruise was on Norwegian Wind from Honolulu. We went to Fanning Island so we didn't just cruised around the Hawaiian Islands. We had four seadays but I think that NCL had cruises with Norwegian Dawn to Fanning Island with only one seaday in each direction. The same itinerary we did then on one of the newer MSC ships should be perfect for us. -
The older ships without Yacht Club are not at all interesting for us. We have cruised on Meraviglia, Divina and World Europa. Our next ship will be Seaside.

We had lobster on World Europa last summer.

Scandic Haymarket.

14 types of people who should not cruise
sverigecruiser replied to ontheweb's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
On the cruises I have been on there has been music in the lounges for some time but the main part of the day there is no live music and then it can be boring, I think. -

We don't cruise to meet new people but I agree with you that conversations with people is an important part of the experience. If I didn't drink I should easily be bored if sitting in a lounge and then I should miss many opportunities to converse but if I drink Champagne I can sit there the whole day and increase my opportunities for conversations. -

I don't see any fascination of it but if I shall cruise without being bored alcohol is a part of it. I can easily spend a few hours in a lounge drinking Champagne but without drinking that should be very boring, for me. -

I always speak to myself. I said that people who don't drink can cruise, did you missed that? How do you spend a typical cruiseday? -

And I said that people who don't drink can cruise but personally I probably shouldn't. If I didn't drink alcohol I should probably be boared on a cruise. -

I agree with you that people who don't drink alcohol can still cruise but I should probably not do it anymore if I for some reason couldn't drink alcohol anymore. The reason for that is that alcohol is such a big part of the whole cruiseexperience. I love the afternoon Champagne in a lounge and wine with dinner. To spend time on the sundeck without drinking cold beer should be a real waste of time for me. And no, non-alcoholic drinks are NOT the same thing! -
How do you feel about sailing on MSC's oldest ships?
sverigecruiser replied to Stockjock's topic in MSC Cruises
We loved the size of World Europa. -
MSC 1st and last time sailing this line.

Great food. Elegant ships. Excellent staff. YACHT CLUB. -
I don't know if they are the only ones but if they are, it's probably because it's an italian cruiseline and italians often eat late.

'Live From' MSC World Europa - Yacht Club - 10/11/23 - 17/11/23
sverigecruiser replied to Captain-John's topic in MSC Cruises
When we cruised in July one hot tub was enough but it's possible that it was a little too hot on the pooldeck then. We paid for VIBE when we cruised on Norwegian Breakaway. The main reason for that was that sometimes there are too many children in the Haven and we wanted to be able to avoid that. -

We cruised om the WE in July and they always gave us the papermenu. I wish they had them on the tables. -
But more big suites in the YC will probably mean more children there and I don't want that.
