  1. No IC on Diamond or Island. Kai is casual dining.
  2. In case you missed it, there a multi -page thread on this already, with a lot more detail, and speculation of course, lol. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3003226-41324-princess-rolls-out-fleetwide-dining-revolution/
  3. As noted, above and elsewhere - Sun Princess dining isn't yet open past end of May 2024. You're simply too early.. Everyone is in the same boat (pun intended).
  4. Nope. Guest entertainers change weekly. The production shows will be the same week to week - those haven't changed in years! Your app will have some things showing up in advance, but not the guest entertainers, etc. Otherwise, nope.
  5. In case you missed it: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3003146-new-dining-room-changes-fleetwide/
  6. Sun Princess dining is currently only open through end of May. For everyone. BB and Spellbound come and go for reservations but everything else, not open yet past May 2024.
  7. Yes - that would be a great confirmation - if all suites have reserved seating in Arena (production shows or all shows) and Dome shows. Thanks!!
  8. What sort of plantations are you looking for? Chocolate plantation, working good plantation, old slave plantations, plantations turned botanical gardens, what? Help us help you - your question is remarkably broad.. You can visit Morne Coubaril, Fond Doux - working plantation , hotel, and grows cocao for Hershey, Diamond Botanical Gardens, a former plantation of Empress Josephine, and then French troop rehabilitation), or Rabot plantation (grows coxao for Hotel Chocolat in St Lucia. Many others around the Caribbean, and a few in Hawaii...
  9. Have done my cruise tour with one suitcase (28 inch), one carry-on (under the bus or with luggage on train and boat) and one backpack (with me physically aboard bus, train, boat). Didn't need a separate bag for land versus sea, it all fit fine in the one case.. Absolutely no way I could do a 6 night land tour and 7 night cruise with only a carry-on...
  10. Have your travel agent do it. If you didn't use a TA, then yeah - call.
  11. As noted, Sun Princess dining is only bookable through May 31. No other dates have opened yet. Once the next set is open, you'll hear about it here, and virtually any other Princess or Sun Princess forum. It's simply not available yet past end of May..
  12. I don't think Jack is one of the options. Dewar's for scotch usually. And Courvoisier sometimes. Absolut vodka, sometimes Sky.
  13. You'll have 8 alcohol minis, 2 beers, 2 Perrier, 2 still waters and 6 mix of soda/mixers. For a total of 20 items. You can trade all for water, all for soda, all for a bottle of wine, or like for like, ie swap all the booze for one type of minis or all beer, and all the non-alcoholic for all water or all soda or all ginger ale, etc. Room Service or your room steward to change. Generally, the minis are 2 vodka, 2 gin, 2 or 4 scotch . No rum available on minis. (50ml, airline size.).
  14. And yet on other forums, suite guests have talked about kids in there, speaking with the suite concierge and having their kids allowed. Time will tell .
  15. No, not the only difference. Sun's Sanctuary is quite stark, virtually no shade unless I'm a Cabana, way more loungers and not all are padded, lux like the older ships. It does have a dedicated bar within it.. it also has Park 19 activities right above it and forward a bit And no one has been able to get definitively answer whether kids in suites are allowed or if it solely adults only - given it's now Suites first and a suite perk, denying the suite kids would be odd... Waiting on an actual definitive answer on that one.. most people say AO, but then there haven't been a whole lot of kids aboard, in suites...
  16. Yup. Have had it happen back when it was cruise cards and even back when I had to sign a receipt (although that was much rarer). When they're asking cabin numbers, then inputting multiple drinks at once, things get screwed up. My card was very rarely ran, it was just asking cabin number. Same with medallion - very rare, IME, to have the actual medallion scanned particularly at a busy bar, rather an asked cabin number, and they input manually as they enter the drink order. Transposition happens, drinks get out on wrong account, etc. With receipts, it's was rarer, but happened occasionally - and was caught immediately when I would have a receipt to sign for 3 drinks when I ordered two. With the card and no receipts, had to go to Guest Services and dispute, generally not an issue... With the app, I can see a charge on my folio for an incorrect drink (one covered by a package, for instance) and can check drink count any time and know if I've been charged drinks I didn't order..much easier nowadays... YMMV
  17. One question: Do all suites have reserved seating in the Arena for production shows? Or just Sky Suites? I'm reading conflicting info on different boards, might as well ask directly... Thanks, enjoy!
  18. What couch? To get a couch in Sapphire, you have to be in a Mini-suite. On Sapphire, and all Grand/Gem class ships - Oceanview cabins on deck 8/Emerald are basically the same as balcony cabins. Same layout, bathroom, space - and 3rd/4th berth are Pullmans. On very rare occasions, the 4th berth can be a rollaway (rare . With a 98.9 certainty - the 3rd berth will be a Pullman berth. There's no couch, no large chair, nothing like that in the cabin. It's Pullman, or rollaway.. and rollaway is extremely unlikely! Enjoy!
  19. Signature Restaurant is a standalone separate restaurant with separate decor, service, etc. However, when it comes to the menu ; so far, reports are that it's mainly the same MDR menu, with a couple different options - and none has seen the elusive prime rib vary that was advertised for months as a fixture, lol.. More exclusive than the ropes of Reserve area as on prior ships - but not a major difference in menu and such, like Lumiere (Celebrity) or Coastal Kitchen (RCCL) or such on other lines... CB's Reserve class was outstanding last November, among the best I've experienced...
  20. They'll give you a key card, and yes it can be printed with name and sail dates. They do keep some, just in case there's medallion malfunction, or a someone has a concern with pacemaker or whatever. Ask at guest services. Although, it may be time to start a new collection! The medallions have name, ship and dates on them also ..
  21. I'd be inclined towards CB. But a string lull to Sun too.. CB: Much much larger room. Included adults only pool aft. Much nicer Sanctuary Familiarity (don't discount how much this helps you relax). Great crew Lovely Wheelhouse lounge. MUTS much more contained Old and showing a bit of age Less passengers than Sun Beautiful promenade all the way around the ship Longer cruise. And ports tours more interested in. And no tendering!! Sun: New Signature Lounge (CB does not have a suite lounge). Signature Restaurant (first ship with suite only restaurant). New dining options New shows Dome Sanctuary with suite access included (don't know what the situation is with kids in the Sanctuary on Sun, since it's a suite perk.) But - much less inviting looking environment around the Sanctuary) Enclave!! Not included for suites, but very relaxing. New venues Shiny and new Very very different layout, concepts, etc. As you noted - may compel you to participate and explore and go go more than you want to and less relaxing... Basic itinerary. And Princess Cays is a tender port, with long lines to get back, even on the much smaller ships. A lot more passengers! Flip a coin. Ask the other two their opinion. Put deposits on both, and out off the decision till the Sun has been sailing a while longer, lol (that's what I'd do, give it some time to shake out). All said, overall, id probably go CB..longer cruise, more ports, no tendering, less people, larger room.... And save the bells and whistles for some other time.. .
  22. Your 17 year old will have all the Plus Cruise Package benefits, ie WiFi, casual dining, crew apprecireciation, juice bar, etc - and the Zero Proof drink package. She can order all the mocktails, sodas, waters, specialty coffees, whatever non-alcoholic as she likes . 18 year old, full plus beverage package included in Plus Cruise Package, as legal drinking age aboard is 18. Or, you can oot to only purchase the Plus Cruise Package for the first 2 passengers in the cabin, assuming the 17 year old is listed as the third passenger.. the Cruise Packages only have to be purchased for passengers one and two in the same cabin. Passengers 3 and 4 don't have to have them Of course, if you're going to be paying her crew appreciation, buying WiFi and the zero Proof package separately, it's more economical to purchase the bundled Cruise Package for her, even though she can't buy alcohol..
  23. Yes, suites have comped specialty dining on the first night. On all Princess ships.. There's no other free specialty dining on the first night..
  24. Did you write to special needs at sea for Princess? Or generic customer service? Either way, Princess most definitely has a vegan menu....and has had for a while... unfortunate you didn't get a response from whatever address you wrote to. Glad Holland has met.your needs.. Thread from 2021 and forward on Vegan on Princess: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2812038-vegan-food-on-princess/ Newer vegan menus also introduced last fall posted below... For future reference... Hope you enjoy Holland America! .
  25. Yup. And you can also order in advance if you like.
