  1. We are sailing on the Epic Western Mediterranean 9/29 and 10/6. We are platinum. Are we entitled to the extra specialty dining vouchers that come with each sailing on both legs of our trip? We have 2 different reservation numbers but are in the same cabin.  Also, what happens in Barcelona on turnaround day? Thanks

  2. Thanks for all the information. We did the British Isles on NCL Jade last year and have booked the Rome RT Epic for next June. The great responses to the Epic are encouraging. I would like some input on hotels if anyone did pre cruise in Rome and Naples Excusions that folks did either with NCL or a local. The Palma advise was great, thanks. We did the local bus in Scotland at a port and have the funniest stories from it, so doing as the locals is always memorable.

We are sailing on the Epic on 8/29 R/T Rome. We rented an Airbnb apartment. It looks beautiful in the reviews and photos! I will let you know!

  3. We are sailing on the Epic R/T from Rome. We are also in the Haven with priority disembarkation. If we carry off our own bags and have the shuttle reserved, can we reasonably make our 11:45AM flight? When I called NCL they said we would definitely be off the ship by 8:00AM. I understand that it is close to an hour drive to get to the airport. Thoughts?...

  4. Thanks! We originally had flights on Norwegian Air with plenty of time (6:05pm). They have changed the flights to a charter (Privilege Style) which makes me nervous. We can cancel without penalty. Of course, since I had searched for alternate flights, I keep having ads pop up on my newsfeed with rates from NY-Rome. I can't help clicking on them and found a good deal on United for about the same price. Privilege Style has no Wifi or entertainment which is going to be a big disappointment to my daughter and niece. Oh well.

  5. We are going to Nachi Cocom on 3/29. I have been there twice. It is a beautiful, relaxing day. My daughter and I each had a massage on the beach. It was very reasonably priced and worth it. The guacamole is amazing! Enjoy!

  6. The pre-existing part of the insurance is not necessarily the travelers health. It would include the immediate family members of the traveler. My daughter was booked on a flight to Paris while in college to visit a friend. Her dad had been diagnosed with stage IV cancer two years before. As her trip got closer, his condition became terminal and we cancelled her flight. He passed away one week later. We were refunded the entire cost of the trip.

I am sailing to Alaska next week. My Mom just had an angioplasty today. It could have turned into a complete bypass surgery. Thankfully, everything went well and she will be discharged tomorrow. You just never know what the future holds. Just my .02

  7. The passengers currently in the mini suites will probably bid for an upgrade to a suite and that would open up some mini suite cabins. The only way that you would get a suite is if you did an upsell or bid for the suite yourself. Does that make sense?

Just because they are not showing any available cabins in a particular category doesn't mean they are not going to be moving people with the upgrade advantage.

  8. Thanks everyone! I did in fact book a cabin without a deposit. The rep I spoke to said to do it that way. When I call the Celebrity casino # on the certificate it says on the recording that you can leave a voice mail (but the mailbox is full) or send an email (the email was not deliverable). At least I have a booking # and a sail date booked before the deadline. She thought that they will be in on Monday (presidents day). So I will try. There is no penalty if I cancel.

I have 2 upcoming cruises on NCL and one on RCCL before this Celebrity cruise. I have learned a lesson about waiting until the last minute. Hopefully it will work out. (Fingers crossed!) Today is my birthday so I feel lucky! :)

BTW- The certificate is from Celebrity, not a travel agency.

  9. Back in November, I received a certificate from Foxwoods Resort for a complimentary Celebrity cruise. The certificate states that you must reserve by February 19, 2017 and sail by November 19, 2017.

Above this, it says to book your cruise, please call Monday through Friday from 9AM to 7PM EST. This certificate cannot be redeemed in any other way.

I didn't realize that the deadline fell on a Sunday and the casino reps are not in. This is my first Celebrity cruise. I don't know what I should do?

  10. Personally, I would choose the Getaway. They have a lot of bars and specialty dining venues outside on deck 8 called the waterfront. New is nice.

The Jade is smaller but a bit dated. The Jade does offer the great outdoors, which is an extension of the garden cafe in the rear of the ship. You can dine outside and there is a bar.

    Have a great trip!

  11. We just sailed on the Jewel in a forward PH Suite. It was a 12 night cruise. We could have booked the haven 2 bedroom on the upsell but I didn't feel the need for the courtyard and pool area. We still had Cagneys/Moderno for breakfast and lunch and the butler/concierge. It really depends on what you enjoy doing. I am not a sun worshipper so the haven was not that important to us.

We did sail on the Epic last September in the haven and we did appreciate the quiet space that the haven provided on a ship of that size. It was port intensive in Europe but we enjoyed every minute of it!
