Thanks to everyone who has posted. We had our tests today & tested negative so we are on our way to Miami on Thursday for Friday embarkation. Any of you who have posted on the next cruise? We are calling it the mystery cruise since we have no idea what the itinerary will be, but who cares!

Trivia teams are limited to 8 people.  You can make up your team with anyone you want and sit as close to them as you want in the Riviera Lounge.   No drinks are allowed in the Riviera Lounge to ensure you keep your mask on while sitting next to someone.  Paul is doing a great job with the trivia questions.  When the Entertainment team were in quarantine he also did the 8:30 quiz in Horizons.   Some evenings it may be name that tune with the piano player in Martinis.

The Entertainment team are back doing the games.  They are all being played outside.  Normally it has been  bocce ball at 9 am,  table tennis at 11 am and after lunch at 2 pm is golf putting then at 3 shuffleboard.

Today and the next two days we are back on our regular itinerary.  😀  I think in all we had 7 port changes/cancelations.  Two days in Barbados, twice in St. Martaan and a new port of Tortula (which was a great port)   We expected changes (maybe not so many) but are having a great time and are glad we are cruising.

A lot has been posted regarding the specialty restaurants;  both the great food and the availability to get extra reservations with the ships so empty.  Being this will be our first Oceania cruise, we want to sample everything so is the Main Dining Room also highly recommended to try?  We actually figured that we would go there on embarkation night rather than to get an extra specialty reservation that night.

The main dining room is excellent, too. You won't be disappointed.

  4. Is the spa & library open? Also are there still bridge lessons?. We are on January 28th cruise & the following one & are looking forward to it. Not as much fun wearing masks, but we will board our "mystery cruise" since we probably will be going to different ports than the ones we signed up for. From reading posts, food is still terrific & that's good with us. Just looking forward to warm weather & meeting some new people. Thank you to those who are posting.

  5. Heard that there is a lot of vibration on the Navigator, especially in the rear of the ship. Would that be enough to cross it off your list? Saw a roundtrip cruise Miami-Miami which goes to Bermuda in May which sounded interesting. Only other Regent ship we have been on is the Mariner.

  6. We are taking a Caribbean ocean cruise in February & the airfare is free. I understand there is a deviation fee if we want to go into Miami early. Does anyone know what airlines Viking uses & if their bookings are usually fairly direct. We don't live in a city with nonstop air to Miami.

  7. LLarson,

Saw you had booked a tour to Sintra from the ship. Can you tell me the name of the company you are using? We are ending our cruise in Lisbon & have been there before. We would like to book a tour leaving from the ship to Sintra & then dropping us off at our hotel in Lisbon later that afternoon. We will have luggage, so they will need to accommodate that. Any suggestions from you or anyone else? Thanks.

  8. Thanks for all the information. We will be in Cairns mid-January. I will book the reef tour before we leave. I will leave Kuranda & Daintree until we get there & have a better idea what the weather is like. Appreciate the restaurant suggestions. Have you eaten at Red Ochre? College student kids of friends of ours said that was the best meal they had in Cairns.

  9. Thanks to everyone for your advice on reef trips & Kuranda. My husband will not snorkel, so we would like a glass bottom boat/semi-submersible,etc. Reef Magic was suggested from Cairns (they leave right from the esplanade). They are not as large as Quick Silver (already knew not to take it). We are staying at the Pullman Reef Casino Hotel in Cairns. Lots of people told us about Port Douglas, so we thought we might take a day to visit Port Douglas, but if we are doing full day trips most days, it shouldn't matter where we are (besides the Pullman had a great price). If we go to Kuranda, do we need to go to Daintree, too? This may be our only trip to this area, so we want to see whatever we can. Also, can we wait until we get to Cairns to book Kuranda &/or Daintree. Reef Magic e-mailed me that they have a 12 hour cancellation policy, so we could book in advance. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

We will also be in Sydney for 4 1/2 days, so any recommendations here beside the Opera House would be good.

    Thanks again.

  10. Buccaneer,

Since we haven't been to Melbourne before, what do you recommend? Also, being from Oz maybe you can help us with our few days at the GBR prior to coming to Sydney for a few days before embarking on our cruise. We will definitely book a reef trip. We have seen some recommendations for the Kuranda tour & also the tour to Daintree. We will be staying in Cairns, so we know the Daintree trip is a long day. If we go to Kuranda, should we do Daintree, too? We have never been to either Australia or New Zealand, so we are really looking forward to this trip. Thanks for any help you can give us.
