This actually happened to us. We don’t know how long the battery was dead. It was just a fluke that we tried the door handle without using our card (forgot we weren’t home), and the door easily opened. We opened and closed the door, and then tried it a few more times, and it just opened, with no lock engaged. When we called maintenance, they said they would repair it within an hour. We were on our way to dinner and didn’t want to leave the cabin unlocked. This surprised the maintenance department, but they came immediately to change the battery.

If the battery for the door lock is dead, the lock doesn’t work, and the door, although closed, will not be locked, and will open when the door handle is used.

We use VIA Rail and the Up Express. Usually, very reliable.

i have done this twice on royal Caribbean . as Honolulu is usually a turn around day, you arrive early and the ship doesn't sail until late, usually around 11 PM if you plan well, you have lots of time to visit Pearl Harbor.

A couple of years ago, we booked the holiday dinner in Chops for Christmas Eve. There was nothing special about the menu, and there were maybe 10 other passengers besides ourselves. There were a few larger tables of staff. We felt totally ripped off. I think the only thing extra, was one glass of champagne each. The menu they posted online when we booked, was not the menu presented to us that night. Never again!

Great review. We saw you and your family in the Concierge Club, and were very impressed with the excellent behaviour of your daughters, and loved how your family seemed to spend a lot of time together.

I don’t think they keep milk cold enough to drink. I’d suggest putting a carton of milk in a plastic bag with ice, and then putting it in the fridge. I know I’ve had bad experience with trying to have milk for my coffee.
