  1. We just got off the Grandeur today and it was changed to the 18+. I did notice that a lifeguard did ask two girls to leave the Solarium, they did look young. They left with no problem. Another lifeguard did talk to a mother and her daughter, they didn’t leave. I am going to assume she was 18, from a distance she did look young.
  2. I booked our MTD reservations through Royal’s website on my desktop computer. I was able to do a year out. I have better luck through the website than the app.
  3. I cruised on the Sun Viking in 1983 with two girlfriends in an inside cabin. Our cruise started in Miami and ended in Barbados. We flew to Miami on the day of the cruise and flew back from Barbados to Miami and stayed overnight in Miami. If I remember correctly we paid one price for everything and included the transfers. I wish I could remember the price we each paid.
  4. It has been this way for quite a few years. You have to be in the picture to use the free photo voucher. Found this out many years ago when I tried to get a picture with just my brother and sister in law.
  5. On all our cruises it has been at 45 day mark to check in.
  6. No, they are unable to become Diamond Plus off of your status. They will have to earn Crown & Anchor points on their own.

  8. The bread with the raisins and citron in the Windjammer for breakfast. Reminds me of the Norwegian Christmas bread that my grandma made. Of course bacon, we hardly ever make it at home.
  9. We were on a 6 night Odyssey February 5th and they had lobster night. I was surprised that they offered it.
  10. Yes, when it was about the size of a shrimp. The rest of ours were larger. First complaint in over 30 years of cruising.
  11. We were on the Odyssey January 28th through February 5th. The first week we all ordered lobster. The second week my husband ordered steak and lobster no problem. My friend’s lobster was so small the carrots were bigger than the lobster. She did complain and they did give her another lobster.
  12. I have a feeling they are only serving lobster (free one) on 7 night cruises or longer.
  13. I just checked the menus I didn’t see lobster listed for dinner. The lobster that is listed is the one you can purchase, this is on the menu every night.
  14. In the app for the January 22-28 cruise there isn’t a “Royal Night” listed.
  15. I still have two of them, it was fun to see where everyone was from.
  16. Sovereign was my third cruise, we sailed her 1988, 1991, & 1996. All three cruises we stayed on the tween deck. I think it was deck 6 and didn’t go all the way through.
  17. Glad you enjoyed the Grandeur, we were on it in 2003. We have it booked for May of this year. I am looking forward going on this ship.
  18. You might want to make sure they don’t bring the cake to your cabin the first day. When you first get on the ship go to the dining room and talk to the dining room manager or whoever is at the podium and let them know. They should be able to work with you. Normally when they do the birthday in the dining room they only bring the person celebrating their birthday a piece of cake.
  19. This will depend on your plan. In St. Thomas or San Juan I have never had additional charges with my plan.
  20. When I started cruising with Royal Caribbean there wasn’t a loyalty program. When we reached Diamond there wasn’t access to the Concierge Lounge, it was only for suites (we didn’t even know there was a lounge for suites). We enjoy the voucher system and will still stop in the Diamond Lounge to check out the appetizers. There have been many changes over years, but still very happy to cruise.
  21. The new menus remind me of when I first started cruising. Every night was a theme night, French, Italian, Caribbean, Captain’s dinner, etc. I may be one of few who is looking forward to the new menus.
  22. We disembarked the Liberty yesterday, driving across Alligator Alley we hit some fog. We live in Fort Myers and when it is foggy we cannot see across our pond.
  23. The flourless chocolate cake was the best. It has been off the menu quite a few years, probably at least 10 years. I am hoping one day they will bring it back.
  24. We were on the Liberty in November and the hand sanitizer on the desk when we arrived.
  25. Most likely ship time. It also depends on your ports and how long you are in a different time zone.
