Because HAL is concerned about emergency response and passengers’ needs for equipment or assistance in response to emergencies. Limiting the number of people who may need special assistance during emergency response to a number that the ship can actually provide services for is smart.

Because the line does not want to take on the task of relocating equipment and deal with accusations of breaking equipment or causing passengers to be late because of any time delay in retrieving equipment.

Because scooters left in passageways for any length of time create unnecessary obstacles that present safety  operational hazards. Left in passageways, they block access to handrails, obstruct others from passing down the corridor, including wheelchair and other scooter users, and interfere with ship operations.

Leaving scooters in elevator lobbies aboard ship also creates hazards, including blocking access to handrails.

Because the cruise line is looking out for the interests of all, not just individuals.

    Very well said.

Suez canal transit is in the itinerary for the World Cruise 2027, we've booked a segment from Singapore to Lisbon on the Volendam. However I expect this may not happen and we may be routed around Africa, so the 29-day segment may become a 41 or 42-day segment! I'm sure HAL will decide early next year and let us know, seeing that changes to the Oosterdam has come thru 12 months ahead of the cruise date.

    I think you mean 2026

Just curious...I would love to do round trip TAs, however, wouldn't you have to stay in Europe from Spring to Fall or vise versa? That's about 6 months.

We fly one way into Amsterdam every August. And take the ship back to Florida.
