  1. We just sailed on the Summit and had som of our best staff yet.  Our butler told us that they prefer the smaller ships as they are better able to offer excellent service when the "competition" among staff to provide for their guests is not as great.  He said that when he competes against 3 other butlers instead of 17 other butlers on the larger newer ships he is better able to procure what he needs.   That being said, as Zenith members we have never been by any crew members on our sailings

I’ve heard that it may not be til at least November and was wondering if the points would be added before the X cruise, should the two systems not be uncoupled before then.

You are correct.  They currently are still connected and if you have 2 weeks between the cruises, you will probably get the credit in time.  Enjoy

Again- the slot machine credits you get cannot be cashed out.  Play them on the cruise of lose them.  They are played first.  Anything you win is fine to turn into cash.

Sorry, you are incorrect.  You can get cash for slot machine credits not played.  It is the table chips that MUST be used and are not redeemable for cash.

Does anyone know if Luminae will be open for lunch on embarkation day?

Hopefully the butlers will be out of quarantine by the end of next week. The sailing on the 17th will have more families on board as school will be out so the passenger count will be higher.

The weather in the Northwest has really been funky with only a few days here and there of sunshine.  We were spoiled as the last twice we have been to Alaska it has been sunny and nice. We spent a lot of time on our balcony.

They are definitely open in Luminae on embarkation day and all sea days.

The butlers were still in quarantine on the 10th, the day we departed, however, service was NEVER lacking

The weather on our cruise was not good.  Missed most  of Victoria, arrived very late due to weather and the se day was windy and rainy.  Still did not stop us from having a wonderful cruise

  5. We always eat in  Luminae as we book suites.  That being said, the two tops are close together.  We chose whether we want to talk to the people seated next to us or not.  If you do not wish to talk to the people seated at the table next to you in the MDR or Blu or Luminae, a simple good evening said, and then return to your private conversation.

  6. On the Solstice right now in a suite.  There are 2100 guests on board, all suits occupied except 3, I believe.  Food has been wonderful, service great.  We just found out that 3 of the butlers are quarantined, so the 2 remaining are working very hard.  Weather not so good on this trip.  In Juneau and it is rainy and many excursions cancelled.

The entire crew is working very hard to ensure everyone is having a great cruise experience, and they are succeeding

  7. Since the restart, the ships have to be completely cleared and cleaned, the only exceptions being B2B cruisers.  Extend your stay will not return until this pandemic goes away and things return to normal, if ever......  Even when they had it is the past, it was only on selective sailings....

Be careful with riding outside the app. (unless this was scheduled via the app.) That is against Lyft/Uber rules and you have zero insurance from the company if something bad happens on the trip.

That is very true, but we felt very safe with this particular driver.  Thanks for the heads up

  9. We used Lyft.  We asked our Lyft driver who took us from the Hotel in Miami to Ft Lauderdale if he would pick us up n the day the cruise returned and he happily did.  That way he mae the entire fare himself...   Also in Miami, just some friendly advice, DO NOT stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, Miami Airport West.  We are Diamond members and always stay at Hilton properties.  This was, by far, the worst experience we have ever had at a Hilton Property.  The staff is rude and not helpful  and the rooms are old and dirty, not updated at all.

  10. We have also stayed in all three and agree with your pros and cons.  We also ha a problem with the desk location in the Villa.  I cracked my head on the stairway wall several times heading to disconnect my computer.  One if the best parts of the Villa as the TOTALLY private terrace, as opposed to the Iconic and Penthouse suites.  We would be happy to stay again in any of these three Suites for the right price.

Disappointed as I was really looking forward to that cruise.  What angers me is they pulled the cruises from their site, and when people called to ask why they lied to them it appears.  With Covid we all must accept changes  but just be honest and upfront about it.  Not too much to ask.

Yep, when the 2 cruises disappeared our TA was assured that they were not going to be cancelled, they had just stopped accepting new bookings.  We are out over US$20,000 for the 2 rooms now and have until the due date on our charge card to get our refund......:-(

  12. the only issue we ever had before moving to Suites was if your stateroom door and your neighbors shared a common center wall.  We had some VERY rude guests next door to us who would leave their door on the lock open so their friends and family members could walk in all night long to party an let the door slam behind them.  Happily Guest services after trying to get them to stop moved our stateroom.

  13. Very unhappy at the moment with Celebrity.  We paid for our April 9th Eclipse cruise in full and the April 16th payment was due on Friday, THE SAME DAY THEY CANCELLED ALL OF THE CRUISES.  However, the sales agent did accept my payment from our TA Friday morning. 😞  The refunds for both cruises had better be refunded before our charge card payment date or they will be protested with the charge card company.  I will not pay fees on over $20,000 in charges that need to be refunded.
