  1. That’s true if you only do double occupancy. Single only pays once for taxes and port fees but double fare so those fees need to be know and factored. Similar with more than double sometimes.
  2. Again the search function fails. Looking for recent experience on Horizon and embarkation day or other day happy hour drink specials
  3. Someone on our upcoming just announced they have 120 ready to go and wonder if they should bring more (is there any doubt?) “so those who don’t participate in the season (Christmas) do not feel left out.” Two months to go so undoubtedly will have more than one suitcase full. And they are probably the ones who complain they were stopped from dropping off their luggage in the cabin before they were supposed to.
  4. Maybe want to give them a couple minutes to update their requirements and then update the website. All these changes are not automatic and need to go through channels. There is still time.
  5. Thanks for these. I found a dive shop along Church st which rents gear to take to other places. Is Smith’s Cove Bacadere Beach? That was suggested by the Sunset House but they don’t let their gear leave the premises. Still trying to decide if it is worth the cost to take Carnival’s snorkel tour or if shore side is sufficient.
  6. And if you read them, you will notice the first one was edited AFTER the second post was made. The statement in question was likely not there when the second post was made. Lighten up.
  7. Did you notice if people were snorkeling there? Were there any rentals or boats going out?
  8. Are there places along 7 mile that rent snorkel gear and/or have boats to take you off shore to snorkel? Where would be a good place along the beach to relax, drink, and snorkel?
  9. I’ve always worried about the ship sinking while in port and we would all drown. 😂 I carry mine around in case I can’t make it back to the cabin.
  10. The next obvious question would be do you need to eat in the steakhouse to get the offer. Can you go there on the first night and purchase a bottle for use in the MDR?
  11. Water on the ship is free (tap water) and perfectly safe to drink. I don’t often carry a water bottle at home because I don’t get thirsty that often but when going ashore, it is mandatory. I will not stop to buy water every time I want a few sips if the walking is hot and I can just as easily carry a light insulated bottle with cold water. Those stops would add up to both time and money wasted. I have a belt which holds my phone in one zippered pocket and card in another and that is all I usually carry on the ship.
  12. Agree. I bought insurance for my last trip and didn’t use it. Can I get a refund? Lol
  13. Surely you must be mistaken as it is only Carnival with problem cruisers. Lol
  14. Wouldn’t it be fun to have suitcases with video cameras so we could see their adventures. They apparently sometimes need a vacation from us. 🧳 ✈️
  15. Different strokes for different folks. My packing style allows me to get the most use of all the space and NO wrinkles. Suitcase doesn’t need to be full to prevent shifting and no digging. All those extras like shoes and bathroom supplies need to go somewhere and it is easy to just lift out a whole cube at once. I once packed for a cruise, including formal wear, and did 12 days of land travel before opening the cruise suitcase. Not a wrinkle anywhere. Cubes are really great if you are moving around rather than unpacking once. No matter which way you do, it just takes a little practice to perfect. When I see people departing on a one week trip with two suitcases and a couple extra bags, I know they haven’t practiced enough. 😂
  16. Have you tried packing cubes? I use them all the time and love them. Nothing but nothing shifts!. Many sizes to choose from and can be compressed too if you want. Much less disturbance of clothing when retrieving an item. I sometimes fold to size and layer clothes, sometimes roll and put the tubes in a row. Agree about the clamshell type, especially the larger they are. Thankfully when I accidentally purchased them, I got bright purple and I love how well they roll. They just are not for trips where you don’t unpack for the duration.
  17. Thanks. Just something that popped into my head that I hadn’t used for a while. Yes, I have not needed it lately for cruises as there have also not been lines. Doing a European trip soon and wondered. You are also correct about it being for immigration. My late night fingers don’t always thing clearly before typing.
  18. I have previously used the Mobile passport app for customs. Haven’t used it for a while and when I wanted to check whether I had updated my newer passport, I got the message it is no longer available for mobile customers. It directed me to download Airside digital identity. Has anyone used this app and how did it work? It has only a two star rating. It doesn’t appear to be specific for passport use.
  19. You’re right that many casino goers pay a lot more to cruise. But there have been several just on these board who have never set foot in the casino and get great deals. I do have to shake my head at those big spenders (losers) who proclaim free cruising though.
  20. Unless of course you want to wear PJs or brush your teeth in the morning. 🤣
  21. Non D/P self assist get mixed in with all others with checked bags. They have called alternating tag numbers with muster stations (self assist) on all the recent ships I have been on. I always do self assist but it is never faster than the low tag numbers. Title of thread is embark/disembark
  22. Yeah, I worded that incorrectly. I struggled because I thought that was too long also but thought about how many teenagers sleep for 12 hours straight. And the idea of being in separate cabins is foreign to me. We were never fortunate enough to go on a cruise with our kids (before they were paying adults) so don’t even think about the stupidity of some parents. We would have been on vacation to be WITH our kids, not get away from them. While every hour during the day is a bit restrictive for teens, every 2-3 is not. Totally agree with all the other things you said.
  23. She was a terrible guardian if responsible for a 16 yr old and did not have visual contact with him at least once every 12 hours
