  1. The second poster already answered the question. There may be some instances where you need insurance. Need to know the specific cruise and ports.
  2. Maybe consider giving a small tip as well to offset his loss of income.
  3. Wow. First reply and it does not answer the question asked, is incorrect, and condescending.
  4. Disembarking on Sun and testing pos on Sat doesn’t point to getting it on the cruise unless you were positive before that and you will never know. Probably more people getting it running around with untested people right after the cruise than around recently tested negative people on a cruise. You never know when you got it unless you test every day.
  5. Thank you but I did not ask about unvaccinated who as you know have variable severity and symptoms.
  6. They work for the people who have conquered the “difficulties of learning” how to use them. Major tongue in cheek. They don’t work for those who haven’t learned. To each his own.
  7. Are there any published valid statistics regarding the transmissibility, or illness severity differences between having three, two, one or no boosters? I’m all for dropping all testing of any asymptomatic individual regardless of vaccination status.
  8. Since we have veered into the camping world comparison—-We were tent camping once when late at night the neighboring tent seemed to be having a zipper contest. Zip the tent, zip the sleeping bag, unzip the bag, unzip the tent, zip the tent. You get the picture. After tossing and turning for about half an hour of this, my husband exclaimed in a rather loud voice “the next time I hear a zipper I’m tying a rope from a tent to my bumper and taking off”. Not another sound. 😆
  9. Stores in our area don’t carry them or I haven’t looked for/seen them. My experience is with AARP for the 10% discount. Glad we all have options. I’ve told people about the discounted cards and have them tell me it is too much bother. Geeez
  10. Some people go with the flow and some people complain or they are not happy.
  11. Haven’t followed the protocols but did you previously need a doctor’s note to board after receiving an exemption? I would have thought exemption granted would have been the end of it.
  12. Except you would not use a whole pound of cubes in one bag so if you are that close to the limit, take out a sock. Carefully folded until the bag moves and the clothes are not tightly packed as in cubes. No dead space if done correctly. Quite the contrary as a properly packed cube could if necessary be shaped around other things without disturbing the packed clothing, thus again preventing mussing or wrinkles. Efficient use of space only requires thinking ahead.
  13. What material do you think cubes are made of? Mine are thin nylon (basically the thickness of a piece of paper) and 10 of them together weigh no more than a pound. They are also great for preventing wrinkles but you need to know how to do it.
  14. You need to access the card number and pin from your email. I always print that out for my information in case I lose the email. Has the nice Carnival logo on the top. Perfect gift that doesn’t take up any luggage room. 😆
  15. I don’t have that answer for you but some things to consider. You don’t load a single card with a chosen amount. You buy them valued at $100 or $500 (in my experience). If you are an AARP member you can purchase up to 5 cards (virtual) a month at a 10% discount. That can be any combination of 100 and 500 cards. They do not expire so you can use left overs later. Remember to add in port fees, gratuities, and extras you wish to supply. The cards can be used for any purchases on the ship. If you need to do a trial run, I am available. 😂
  16. And again you have been proven wrong by the real engineers. They say it is aerodynamic but does not give aerodynamic function. Big difference from your “no chance it is aerodynamic”
  17. Exactly. They just had an unsold cabin at a higher price and wanted to get it from someone in a cheaper cabin. You may have gathered that not all people who make definitive statements here are correct.
  18. We were visiting at a small town rural cemetery today for family members. There was a three generation family of 14 there who were in a circle holding hands and praying around the unique (statue of a soldier) marker at a grave site. Later they were walking around the cemetery and we remarked to the man how unusual the marker was thinking he was family. He said no, we don’t know them. We just picked this cemetery this year to teach the kids about the meaning of freedom and what it costs. He was an ex marine and we were visiting the grave of my husbands cousin who was killed in Vietnam.
  19. If you don’t see the contradictions and confusion here, have a nice day “sport”
  20. I’m guessing that if it had been a case where the cruise line reimbursed you, that would have been subtracted from the 150%?
  21. The document of recovery is signed by a doctor attesting to your recovery. I haven’t looked lately but the statement originally said your infection and positive test must have been either 10 or 14 days prior to sailing and we know that people are not infectious longer than that. That is why the work around was created—for those who test positive long after they are infectious.
  22. When you are fully reimbursed by Carnival why would insurance help? Insurance plans clearly state they cover non reimbursable expenses. They may help with flight changes—if Carnival had not extended the $200 or it does not cover it. I am struggling right now with what insurance to get for a trip so am reading lots of policies. A question I have is what terms cover you if you need to extend a trip due to covid or flight cancelations. Is it interruption, delay, something else? The coverage limits are quite different for each of these and are not necessarily inclusive of all you expenses.
  23. THANK YOU. Somebody finally got it! From my explaination on page 1 that many people just couldn't comprehend.
  24. Common courtesy anytime of the day as there are late sleepers and nappers, or just people who do not wish to be disturbed. Yesterday in the store, my husband was refolding a shirt after trying it on and a clerk approached him saying “I should give you a dollar for that. I’ve never seen anyone do that before”. 😂
