Help - Norway Fjords options between Apex and Silhouette
ladylemondrop replied to harbourxie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Different folks, different strokes! I too love an aft cabin, the wake is hypnotic and often offers some wonderful panoramic views of fjords when you wake up. I don’t think its a subject that needs arguing over. If the front floats your boat, go for it! OP, I think you made a good choice, have a wonderful cruise. -
Help - Norway Fjords options between Apex and Silhouette

Whichever you decide, be sure to get to a supermarket and look for Bumsemums, marshmallow chocolate covered teddies, they are delicious! Only in Norway! 😁 And if there is a RIB tour, do it, its so fun. -

All of Norway is stunning, if you live in UK then sailing from Southampton will be a plus? -
Are Ultra Deluxe Veranda Stateroom the largest cabins?

Makes sense, much more realistic than trying to be a suite. To be honest, ultra spacious cabin with veranda would be more accurate! -
Are Ultra Deluxe Veranda Stateroom the largest cabins?

We have sailed in these on S Class, as Family cabins, and they were fantastic as a family room especially for space in the master bedroom, and the living area, but were not so good in terms of location - far forward (noise early morning when docking) they have a small veranda, and tiny second bunk bedroom. One bathroom with shower only. We loved it when we had 3 kids with us! Currently being sold as Horizon Suites (which I could never understand, as they are not a suite by any means other than cabin space) Now seems they are re-categorizing? Back to a veranda class. Interesting.... -
Here is a link to a blog about it - https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/video/chefs-table-by-daniel-boulud It says date and time will be confirmed on embarkation day, so yes, if you find it clashes, you would have to rearrange other events around it. They would try and help onboard. We haven’t done this but am sure they would make it a special evening.

This thread has been so helpful and interesting to read! Alaska is on my bucketlist of cruises. I actually made notes from all the information given here so that when we are ready to plan we know what to book! Thank you all.

Oooo that lovely oversized comfy lounger on the balcony! I loved that so much, I am not sure it is still on other ships now that they have been 'revolutionised' (ruined) When will Celebrity realise COMFORT is everything for a holiday, not 'style' Your cabin looks lovely, and am pleased that your embarkation went well, looks very civilised! Great food photos too. Your report is really good am enjoying following!

Great time of year in the med, just before it gets scorching hot (avoid July, and August) will be really pretty! Enjoy 😊

Thats a shame, but its quite strenuous and no shade, so probably best avoided in heat wave! There is a lovely taverna in the Plaka area called Gods Restaurant, with a shaded terrace and excellent greek food. In the past we have also taken a taxi to Cape Sounion, and seen the temple of Poseidon. Cannot wait to hear more from your report!

Condition of the Reflection- Yes or no?

Beautiful ship! -
Sounds fabulous! We love Reflection, and Rome, last year we did a fantastic Segway tour there with Fat Tire Tours. Highly recommend. Alnd then we had dinner opposite the Colloseum at Ristorante della Salute. It was very good, if you can get a table outside. We booked ahead and got a discount online. Looking forward to following your report! Have a great time.

They have nice piano music in the Ensemble lounge, just outside Murano, usually every evening, or something similarly relaxing. Other entertainment is like most cruise lines, a mix of comedian, magic, production shows etc, in the main theatre.

Tour discounts and prices vary from time to time, sometimes, if there is a sale they drop quite a bit, and if you notice it is cheaper than what you already have booked, you can cancel and rebook (we did this with both excursions and dining package a couple of weeks ago for our cruise) Just keep an eye on it maybe, or as you say explore private tours - check your roll call for offers of these, or use Viator.

Hi, I am also from your part of Suffolk! Small world. I think you will love Silhouette, a beautiful ship, lots ot enjoy. Being on the hump is usually quite nice! We love the angled balconies and views. Things to enjoy - Cafe al Bacio, lovely coffees, pyramid tea bags, and free pastries, cookies etc daily… Sunset Bar, in the evening, for a lovely view of the wake, and a drink. Murano for a special meal, it really is worth the upcharge. Lawn club, for a more homely casual meal, again, we love this as a change from the main dining room, the warm cookie dough dessert or carrot cake are soooo good! 😊 And if you like cocktails, try the Martini bar, Lemondrop martini, frescatini, whatever flavour you can think of, they have it! Try them all…. Hope you have a wonderful cruise.
