Does anyone happen to know bed location for 11960 on the Joy? Thanks for your help in advance.

@ludalex The General Manager of the Joy confirmed that Starlink will be installed during the dry dock. In fact, most ships in the NCL fleet will have Starlink by end of 2024 and "all" by end of 2025.
The Starlink team is traveling with us and make prep work to have the system online for the return. Also, access points for on-ship WiFi are being upgrade to improve coverage. Not aware of any additional cost once the link is upgraded. That's TBD.
As for the package, you will need the premium for VPN and streaming services. However, premium is NOT faster than basic, it simply unlocks those capabilities. I suggest using your free 150 mins for the first day, or as long as you can. The Internet package will drop progressively by $30 per day through day four. So long as you still have minutes in the free package you can then get the upgrade for unlimited access for the rest of the trip. DM me if you have questions.
Elements show, Magician, Aerialists and Comedians will be with us on the return trip. They're all pretty good thus far.
Thank you for looking into this! Do you feel confident that the install will be completed based on what the GM said? We had a horrible experience on a TA on the Getaway with no internet for about half of the journey. We work remotely, so not having internet was a big miss and we are hoping we don't have that issue this journey! Thank you again for the information.

Any other LGBTQIA+ folks on the NCL Joy for the Transatlantic following its dry dock refurbish? This will be the second Transatlantic for my husband and I and we are looking forward to the many days of relaxation. We are curious to see if everything will be complete in time for this sailing and hope that this dry dock will include Starlink install. Would love to meet others on board as well! 🙂

UPDATE - we originally planned on taking our bags off and continuing on the cruise, but upon speaking with the ships Embarkation Officer, we were informed that doing so would be classified as "transportation of goods" and we would be subject to heavy taxation. In addition, we would be required to fully itemize all of the luggage and its contents, applying values to everything so they could calculate the taxes. Instead, we opted to just disembark the cruise early and not complete the last leg. When doing this, our bags were considered personal luggage and were not subject to any taxes. This saved us quite a bit of money and hassle.
This was all arranged with the Embarkation Officer once onboard the ship. I would recommend waiting until you get on the cruise vs. trying to arrange it in advance - in speaking to others, it sounds like there is a lot of pushback given when arranging prior. We had no pushback at all.
The port in question was Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.

Has anyone had experience with taking pieces of luggage off a NCL cruise prior to the final port disembarkation? We are traveling on a NCL Transatlantic from the US to Europe and want to take most of our luggage off in a port (where we will be living) prior to the final port but will be getting back on the ship to enjoy the rest of the journey. I’m wondering if anyone has done this with NCL and what was involved and if there are any recommendations. Thank you!

Added info - we are traveling from the US to an EU destination.

Has anyone ever taken bags off prior to the final port? We are doing a Transatlantic cruise and actually live in one of the ports (NOT the final port) and we want to take the majority of our luggage off the boat when we arrive. We will be getting back on the ship to finish the cruise but curious if anyone has had issues/recommendations from doing this before. Any information would be helpful!

OK, thanks! it appears all the excursions are sold out for Azores. Maybe something will become available once we set sail.
Hi!! We booked the Furnas Valley excursion through NCL awhile back. That’s the only excursion we booked in advance. We’ll just be winging it on the other stops :)

Hey Emailguy269 and Mirroring -
I havent been on here in awhile, when I initially posted, there weren't any responses so I stopped checking. Glad to hear from both of you. We haven't heard from others but there always seems to be a good group of guys on all NCL ships. We went on one this spring and met a great group. We are looking forward to the rest and relaxation with limited ports - too many ports can be a bit hectic. This will give us time to rest and regenerate. I would assume there is a LGBTQ meet up on the agenda - usually at the martini bar. We will plan on attending that for sure. Hope to see you both on board!

My husband and I are booked on our first transatlantic cruise on the NCL Getaway. We are hoping there are other LGBTQ+ friends aboard as well! Let me know if you are sailing to Lisbon as well!

Greg-
We don't rock in Rome until 10/9. Not sure it's the same cruise that we will be on. We leave Barcelona on 10/4.

Hi ATLFuzzy! My husband and I are on the same ship on the 4th of Oct. Wondering if you might have any tips for us. We posted on the ships G&L Roll Call and didn't get any responses, had hoped to find some friends to dine with!
Let us know any inside scoop you might have! Hope you are having a great time.
