  1. I hope you had no serious damage from the wind 🤞 So very sorry to hear about your friend who has passed away at such a young age 😢. My condolences. Cancer is just too cruel 😡 ‘Sigh’. I just love a thankless job 😔 I will make note and try to change if necessary. the Fleet Report is not under my control. Ahhh, I am so sorry to hear this. It is hard when you lose your partner 😢 Thanks Ann. I hope so too. I hobbled out and got all the stuff she instructed and am following her programmed diligently. that will just leave me with my back and leg problem. Much easier to deal with if the foot isn’t handicapping me 😗 I’m glad to hear your DD is doing ok 👍. If your Mariner Recognition is anything like my last one, it is fantastic. I love the new menu. I am wondering if your friend Jane is our mutual friend (J & J). I know they were crossing the pond to get to London but I don’t remember the ship they were going to be on. Thank heavens you are on higher ground and escaped the flooding 👍. Glad to hear you got a bit more sleep but 5 hours is still not much 😔 thanks Vanessa. Rats on the Ipad 😢. I went to copy from Notes yesterday after I posted and the bolding etc didn’t hold either. The FCL and Fleet Report are on Word Press so that must be my saving grace. (Brian @POA1 was nice enough to let me use his site years ago when a CC update kept my WP from working properly). @atexsix Bruno, I posted on your thread on the HAL board and hopefully you saw it. My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear Father. You took such great care of him for so long.
  2. So sorry this has turned into a wheelchair cruise fo you, Gail. Sadly they prohibit visiting a lot of places in Europe because of the cobble stones and irregular stones as I quickly discovered. You don’t really think about it until you are dealing with one. I am so glad you can get to Keukenhof gardens. they are so beautiful and the chair should be maneuverable there.
  3. Never ever think that! Everyone is welcome to the Daily and no one is ever out of line (unless they get political 😂) Most people were new here at one time or the other 🙂 😉
  4. Good Saturday morning and thanks to Rich, Roy, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie & Debbie. Great collection of days and love the Langtry quote. The meal sounds yummy - no Swiss chard though so maybe I will have fish and Chips. No appointments since it’s Saturday but I do have errands to do to purchase things the foot nurse specialist wants me to use. She was very thorough - far more than the podiatrist - spent an hour and 1/2 with me tending to the feet. In a nutshell - what the podiatrist said was healed is not and other diagnoses were incorrect. Julia has taken care of a number of things and is confident that the infection should clear in a few days with the new protocol and I will hopefully be pain free before Friday. It’s a long list which I don’t want to bore you with but the podiatrist is lucky I’m not litigious & I am lucky I went to the nurse. There will be more to do when I get back but I am good to go. The sun is actually shining - it’s a surprise. If it stays that way, I will hobble out to the back yard when I get back and do some more clean up. It’s hard to find it all in snow and ice 😉 Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain, health issues, worries & those that need them 🙏 Cheers to those celebrating & cruising 🥂
  5. Bon Voyage! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time!!! Welcome to the Daily 🙂. So glad you hear that your Meet & Mingle has worked out well. You are most welcome - I’m glad to hear I could be a bit of help. @AncientWanderer Bon Voyage Maxine!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!
  6. Bon Voyage 🙂 I hope you have a lovely crossing. My friends are doing the same as you. They are taking the train (Eurostar?) to London after the cruise and enjoying time there. Great minds think alike 😉 😃
  7. Welcome to the Daily 🙂. No need to lurk any longer - please post again and join us 🙂 It worked for me this morning on both the Fleet Report & BV thread. I hope it does for you, too. I’m with you on the Ipad. What I got only for cruising is my go to very day. the only thing I use my laptop for is the spread sheets now for certain things. Oh Terri - I am so very sorry to hear about your friend, Anita and sadder that you discovered from the obituary. 😞. She is in my prayers as are you as you suffer the loss of a dear friend 🙏 Go for the referral Sandi. It can’t hurt to take that one extra step and may solve the problem. I hope you can be helped 🤞
  8. The only noise you can hear (depending on your location) is when the deck chairs are taken down at night and put back up in the morning. the other is the sound of the cars in the Lido Market. I’ve been in NS’s on several ships where they are under the LIdo deck and we never had an issue with noise - but I tried to choose carefully. I’ll be on the Volendam in a week and will certainly report any issues in my live thread.
  9. Oh Bruno, I am so sorry to hear this 😔. My condolences to you and your family. I pray that the many good memories you have will help sustain you now and in the future.
  10. A nice relaxing cruise with some nice stops to sip the wine & savour the flavour. We hope our CC friends enjoy their time in port and on board their BHB and, of course, we wish them fair winds and smooth seas. Bon Voyage to Zaandam - 7 day Wine Country & Pacific Northwest: Jananza - with friends & neighbours Bon Voyage Jananza !!!!!! Have a great time and a WONDERFUL cruise !!!!!

  12. LOL my hearing is very sharp. Perhaps that’s the issue. I don’t like a lot of noise. My hearing hasn’t dulled yet. 😉 Each to their own. I didn’t hear anyone argue at our table about the intolerable noise. We were all in agreement and said thank heavens we have CO. I was on the Koningsdam for 19 days and the Roterdam for 15. I only went to the MDR a very few times and after a lunch, dinner and Mariner’s reception I was one and done.
  13. It was the same on my K cruise. Rotterdam seemed more civilized but just the same, the lines were there. I only waited once for 5 minutes for CO on both ships. Much quieter and far more personal.
  14. No that cabin isn’t under the Canaletto but my TA and I both thought it should be safe. I’ll find out. Choices were limited so we chose from what was there. I’m surprised as I have been under the Canaletto on several of the smaller ships (where the Lido is above) and we didn’t hear the carts. It needs to be the fully carpeted area IMO but obviously your experience was different
  15. I am so, so sorry for your tumble, Gail. 😔. I pray that nothing is broken and you can recover quickly. I am so sorry to hear that you have to change your plans. Health is first of course, but you have waited so long for this cruise and trip. My heart breaks for you both 💔 Well done - go ahead and enjoy. I’ve been in that boat (so to speak). CC friends call it “the wheel chair cruise”). I hope you can enjoy things as much as possible with it to assist you. 🤞
  16. Firstly - it is indeed shower /tub combinations still. Not sure why - maybe not enough space or plumbing to convert? The OV’s and insides have all been converted to shower only. Book under the carpeted area of the Canaletto - it’s pretty safe. I have 7032 for next week and think it should be fine. I’ll certaily be reporting on my live thread if there are issues.
  17. Since you only sail Koningsdam now, your experience in MDR’s of the other ships is somewhat limited. All of the Pinnacle Class ships’ MDR’s are VERY loud. Much louder and noisier than the other ships in the fleet. Fixed dining is not as bad but open dining is horrific. We could barely hear the person next to us at the Mariner’s reception. The sound just reverberates like an echo chamber. I have been on Koningsdam for 3 segments B2B2B and Rotterdam for a longer cruise and my experience was the same. Dining rooms are much quieter on the other ships in my experience. I will not cruise on a Pinnacle Class ship unless I have Club Orange and can use that dining room.
  18. Nice Patti. 🙂. That sounds like a lovely way to enjoy the holidays I’d be tempted if I thought I could get out of here 😉 Delighted to add it for you 🙂 ps - enjoyed my sailing with you on the Rotterdam 🙂 Great roll call and cruise 👍
  19. Yikes - you are so right. My apologies and thank you. I was able to edit, Edi. Too long a day today, I guess.
  20. Karen, my sincere apologies - I wasn’t on much earlier this week due to just too many appointments and a funk. I am so very sorry you lost your DSIL. My deep condolences to you and her family and prayers 🙏 I hate cancer. It has taken too many wonderful people. Good for you on becoming a good solo traveller. I am so pleased for you and hope you have a fantastic cruise 🙂
  21. @AncientWanderer I am so glad you enjoyed Yokohama. Have an absolutely wonderful cruise! Aww - you are a sweetheart - thank you 🙂. Please don’t use data if it is costing you $$. I can check it tomorrow and amend if needed. It’s no big deal. Vanessa after a bit of frustration, I did some googling and think I have a resolution for you. Instead of selecting the first word in your piece you are copying and pasting, go down to the last word and select all. And the do your copy. That works fro most things but when it doesn’t, I discovered if I went down to the last word and selected it and then moved it so that I had it all covered and chose copy it would paste. Select all worked today with my FCL using the last word and select all but for the Fleet report, I had to select the last word and then scroll up so it was all highlighted and then choose copy. Both pasted so it seems to be a bit of trial and error. the key is to start at the bottom, last word and not the top. If that doesn’t make sense, I’ll see if I can find the article again and give you the link. the weird thing is everything worked for me until this morning. there was another update last night so I guess that’s what did it. My IPads are always completely up to date. LOL - it is tempting. I so loved the Prinsendam and the service and food that was a step above the other HAL ships. I’m a tad nervous though being a solo now. At least on the HAL ships there is a chance there is someone I “know” or even have cruise with before. Whe we sailed O, I found them very cliquish if you were new. It wasn’t a big deal at the time as I was with DD DH and other friends but being solo, it would be a whole different kettle of fish if passengers were “d cliquish”. New passengers were looked down upon in my opinion. I’ve never treated new passengers on HAL that way and it was a bit off putting.
  22. You’re just trying to really tempt me now, aren’t you 😂
  23. Thanks ever so much, Bruce. I thought it might be like the old Chef’s Table that used to be on HAL. The price is actually quite in line with what HAL used to charge, surprisingly. thanks Ann. I confess, I didn’t look at it today. Colin let me know about the new port yesterday and was able to reach Rich @richwmn (who likes his records absolutely correct 😘) and I understood he had fixed it. I’ll watch it tomorrow and manually change it if need be. Cobh is such a great port and how nice you can meet up with Colin and Ellen @VMax1700
  24. Like a birthday? Or anniversary for a cake to be served and celebratory singing by the staff? No panic unless it is embarkation day. You can let the Dining Room manager know when you board (possibly remind them the night before) and it will all be taken care of. Hope this helps.
