Safe travels..we return on the 16th to Venice.. Yes, let's get together next season..

Easy answer...Not in public on furniture others might want to enjoy!

As I said they were super seniors. Sal and I never snooze in the library, solarium or on the heated loungers. We are well...bad allergy season in NY this year. We enjoyed the snowbird season in Venice & heading back in May to enjoy the " off season". Not cruising til Nov, Hope all well with you.

PS.. the deli touted as a must do for lunch was overcrowded and smelled like " wet dog"..,the sandwich was not that special!

We tried Oasis pre covid times, and could not wait for the cruise to end. It was crowded everywhere, the computer rm was tiny and in the library many super seniors were snoring and drooling the afternoon away! Similar group in the upstairs lounge by day.....no quiet places to read! Every show needed pre reservations..even so there were lines for everything, Dining even in specialty venues was so so and waiters kept trying to sell stuff..not very classy. Shopping was not very upscale... Saving grace was the adults only area aft,, but it was crowded, the Diamond lounge was nice for lite breakfast and the nighly cocktail buffet was awesome. Food there was better than the mdr. Music groups on board were excellent. But the positives did not outweigh the many negs for us,.seems more suited to family cruising rather than the upscale experience on X,,

Agree...... Spending a few days there pre or post cruise,..is a treat. A great seaside walk, interesting restaurants on the main drag and even more on the side streets. Dh loved the coffee..very stong. Things may not always run on time and most shut down in the afternoon til dinner. But so msny interesting things to see and do!

We ask the attendant to remove all the fake Hoppen dead looking coral, faje plants, and vases that are not able to hold water..it all goes. On EDGE, we put a fresh floral arrangement in the lighted niche by the closet, and add some other touches to counteract the boring Hoppen look.. The "way too many pillows" go under the bed. But what can you do with grey and orange..? def a college dorm color scheme, We could never book that room..bathtub too high!

Hoppen design is awful. The colors in that room are terrible.,reminds me of a college dorm that needs seriois updating.

I believe there is a misplaced reliance upon masking..esp the plain paper styles. Yes, we wear them..but do they really stop the spread? Social distancing, handwashing probably good ideas, Wish someone had all the answers !

Not so.. ..completely. We have 1 booked short cruise on BEYOND to use up our big fcc, and then plan to reassess booking any future cruises. . We were not thrilled with the way cancellations and refunds were handled by Celebrity, and are now monitoing the Covid isolation policies. Also not a big fan of the new direction under LLP...but the staff, ships, music, and dining were still tops , based on last 2 cruises on EDGE!

Hopefully, being active can stave off "pre-senility", even if we have some Sr moments now and then. For us it means more time for the gym, hiking, swimming, gardening, dh golf, enjoying our vacation home, many other interests, ability to spend more time enjoying life and our grands..they def keep us feeling young! We will add cruising back in slowly as we start to feel safe with it. First one is BEYOND in Nov. Loved all the photis in this report!

Glad you are free from the ship! Terrible that food was delayed. As a diabetic , waiting that long could be an issue for me. We put our suitcases in plastic when we get home..deters bed bugs! Hope it resolves soon. Enjoy the rest of your trip

Nice article and enjoyed the posts here. Thank you for sharing. If LLP 's target is Gen X she may be "missing the boat" by overlooking others who like to cruise. Hoppen decor was not that popular or comfortable on the other E ships, and GOOP has fallen short so far ( lack of cohesive brand identity) Other than that we are looking forward to our BEYOND cruise.,..even if we are generation "happily retired".

Sorry to hear the OP news. Good your husb got an inf balc rm rather than an interior. Infinite balc gives access to outdoors sort of..good light and fresh air. You have a great attitude..hope all works out. We will only book shortest cruises possible..just in case we are confined

Everyone must do what's best for their own situation and risk tolerance. No right or wrong. No need to justify one's position..Interesting to hear how others see things. We decided to take a chance on a 5 day cruise rt Port Ev on Beyond in Nov. It' s the last chance to use up our hefty accumulated fcc from cancellations, lift and shift etc, and our first suite bookibg after many yrs in AQ Class Hoping the testing ( a huge inconvenience to arrange in set time frames) and mandatory masking issues are gone by then..and if the worst case scenario happens they have to let us off after the 5 days! We hope all goes well and we can have a lovely Champagne Toast at sea...no future cruise plans on the table after that!

This seems very reasonable if it works.. Getting to the ship is still an issue

Avoid JfK, la Guardia.. Too far away from the port, few transp options or very costly, if you find one, ..awful traffic! Maybe fly ino Newark a day ahead and book a motel close to port with a shuttle service,.

What is the itin..? We are booked round trip from Port Ev for a short cruise in Nov. Hope any start up kinks are resolved by then and ship remains H E A L T H Y !

Doubt anyone will know or that X will tell, but is this the newer variant? It seems more contagioys but not as severe as original Covid? Or are many folks becoming very ill, needing hosp level care?
