  1. Let me see if I can word this properly. Is there a dollar amount limit that I can place on the on board account that I can use AARP gift cards to cover? For example, if I charge $3,000 from the casino to my room, can I apply $3,000 in Gift cards to cover the charge? I understand It will be a "use or loose" situation. Just trying to figure out a dollar amount I should bring. Anyone know?
  2. I went through the search page, and all I see is how to use gift cards towards purchasing a cruise with RC. My question is can they be used onboard as spending credits? Other cruise lines allow you to to guest services , present the cards and have it applied to my account. I just want to make sure RC allows the same. Thanks
  3. You can order the internet through the app. Go to MeddalionNet section.
  4. I have looked but cannot find the answer. I have a 20 day cruise in January 2024. It is actually a B2B, but booked as one long cruise. I did not purchase any of the specialty packages, because it was cheaper to just do a soda/1 unit wi-fi/ and gratuities. I do not drink alcoholic beverages. My husband only drinks one a day, if that. I understand there is a fee to order food through the app. Is that a one time fee for the entire cruise, or once I use and pay, good for the rest of my sailing?
  5. Does anyone know the maximum dollar amount of gift cards can be used for OBC? We are embarking on a 20 day sailing next year and would like to purchase AARP gift cards to pay for our onboard account. We would like to put something like $3,000 to 4,000 onto our account. (We charge our casino spending to our room). Does anyone know what the maximum amount is? I have called Princess, and they are clueless as to what I am talking about.
  6. Am I incorrect reading that I am no longer allowed to bring a 12 pack of canned soda aboard? I only drink diet, non- caffeinated sodas. I do not drink any alcoholic beverages, so the "Have it all package" is out. My husband and I drink 1 coffee a day, then sodas, so The quench package make no sense. So it appears I am going to be required to purchase the soda package and hope the ship has caffeine free coke or Sprite Zero?? This is my first trip back on Holland since the shutdown, and I am getting frustrated at all their changes. Even the "each" person in the stateroom must purchase rule is frustrating. Before the shutdown, we had a 10 day cruise where they had ZERO diet sodas, caffeinated or not. They ran out the prior cruise and it was not replenished prior to us leaving Ft. Lauderdale. I had purchased a soda package at the time, and had a hard time getting it refunded, as regular soda were available. I had to drink iced tea until we got to a port where I could purchase and bring some on.
  7. Is there anywhere on this board I might be able to see some of the current dinner menus? Not interested in specialty dining, just regular MDR.I am somewhat a picky eater, so if I will be eating in the buffet every night, no need to pack clothing suitable for the dining room. Thanks.
  8. Got the QR code today. Yahhhhh. The boarding times are 11:30am- 3:30pm. Then we sit until 7pm. I guess New York wants the sales tax for drinks.
  9. I know they discontinued set arrival times, but how do I know what the window is? Our ship is not leaving until 7pm. Do we still check in at 11am or so? Also, when is the QR code supposed to load? I thought it was supposed to be 11 days prior, and I am 10 days and nothing.
  10. Do you know if they will post the boarding window on the app? My cruise is out of Brooklyn and my paperwork says we depart at 7pm.
  11. I used to get 3-4 emails from Princess Players club for a free room every week. I currently have 4 booked. Last one I got was late June. Fast forward, they started up again, but now the offer is 1/2 price, not free anymore. Has anyone else stopped getting the good casino offers? I'm figuring that Princess is selling more rooms.
  12. Manually type in your user name and password. That is the only way I get in.
  13. My theory is incorrect. Another website shows sold out.
  14. Wonder if they are planning an out of service to fix the engine problems the Caribbean Princess seems to have. All Cruises to the Caribbean are showing Not available July 1-July 22.
  15. The casino is actually not operated by Princess. The space is leased and Princess gets a percentage of what is collected. The "free rooms" are paid for by Ocean Players club, as is the Freeplay. The beverages are paid by Carnival Corp and Princess.
  16. This is something you need to do anytime you charge funds from your room account to a slot machine, whether you have OBC or not. Many times you see people that need cash to go ashore, so they go to a slot machine and charge to the room to get the cash. They charge , then hit cash out and it charges to the room but will not allow you cash out. Even when you go to the cashier, they tell you what you need to do, so its no big secret.
  17. Sounds stupid, but maybe Princess should compile a list of people that would be willing to take move over offers .Don't get me wrong. I love cruising, but it is very rare I book a room for a specific stop or reason. I am retired, so when and where is not important. I would feel really bad if someone was unable to board due to overbooking, and I was not offered a move over. In addition, I usually travel on a casino fare. Would not really cost them anything except airfare refund for them to move me.
  18. You know, if someone would post a thread, with a listing of where smoking areas really are, and which casinos are "smoke-free" and make the thread where no comments can be made, it would eliminate the questions. If someone asks where the smoking sections are on ship XYZ, you get 3 pages of how bad smoking is for you, and coming short of calling a smoker a murderer. Really if frustrating trying to find an answer on that thread. Sorry.
  19. Yes I drink water, and coffee, but even with Wi-Fi & gratuities, it is still not enough to cover the cost of Plus. I sat and figured it out and it is just not worth it. We are doing the 16 day Greenland trip in August. I expect to lose service for a few of those days, and with Plus, I can't fight for a refund of days lost. Also, I expect my fluid consumption to go way down with the cool weather.
  20. I see on my app that I am able to purchase Medallion net at a discount for Platinum status. If I wait until I get on the ship, will it still be the same discounted price? We do not drink enough for the packages, so I just have soda package. My sister-in-law purchased the package on a prior sailing, and had issues with it connecting automatically, and had to go to the internet cafe every day to get it fixed. I had a complimentary package and had no problem. Just wondering if I should get now, or wait.
  21. If you charge money to you room, make sure you spin at least once, otherwise you will be locked out. The slot has been programmed this way so you are not using slots as an ATM. I have had it happen more than once (I forgot the rule, and a machine I really wanted to play opened up and I hit cash out.) You will have to go to cashier to get it fixed.
  22. I was on a Holland America ship where the AC went out. My travel clock has a digital thermometer on it. It read 82 degrees. Went to Guest services to complain.(It was 9pm in Aruba). I was told to turn my AC off, wait 5 minutes, then turn back on. Did that, waited 15 minutes and warm air still coming out of unit. Went back down, and some snotnosed representative went to my room with me to check the temperature. She went to the vent and held up a portable thermometer and told me the temperature was acceptable. I asked what it read and she said 27. So I flipped the switch on my clock to Celsius and it read 27. I asked her what temperature was unacceptable, but she just turned and walked away. Now I had noticed all the GS agents were wearing sweaters, so I got into my sleepwear, took my pillow and duvet down to GS and laid down on one of the couches in the lobby. My husband went to the bar. GS called security, security got the hotel manager, they went to our room, next thing I know they gave us a room to sleep in for the night. Next day maintenance went in and in 2 minutes had cool air blowing. They said a switch of some sort had flipped off. I guess Holland did not appreciate me running around in my pj's.
  23. Unfortunately, Holland is the cruise line I mostly see the abuse of non service animals. Don't bash me because I have seen it on other lines, but the majority are on Holand. These are the people that dress up their dogs and roll them around in strollers. WHAT SERVICE ARE THEY PROVIDING WHILE IN A STROLLER!!!! When I book a trip on Princess lines, I immediately get a pop up box right before payment that reminds me the mobility devises cannot be parked in the hallways, and you must contact Princess Medical Needs if you will be using a devise so they can ensure the devise will fit through the doorway. You then select I understand, or decline. With decline, your reservation becomes a 24 hour hold and no payment is accepted. Maybe that is what Holland needs. to keep the rug rats off. Don't get me wrong, if I could bring my dog on a cruise and save on boarding costs, I would , but I know he would make everyone but me miserable. (his name is Demon, and trust me he is named properly).
