  1. I’ve done the tour with Chilkoot several times and loved them all. It definitely is great for a first time cruiser to Skagway because they point out the sights and makes plenty of stops. This time we will be renting a car but last year it was just my grandson and I and I wanted to look around which I couldn’t do while driving.

  2. Recently I cruised for the first time in years with NCL on the Joy to Alaska. Every night in the Garden Buffet they offered a different theme for the food. One night they would have seafood, Asian, Mexican, or a barbecue/cookout buffet, etc.

I just booked a seven day cruise on the Norwegian Sun out of Port Canaveral and was wondering if these theme buffets are offered on all ships. They were wonderful!

    Thanks for any info.

  3. Has anyone gotten this? It states on their website that after parking with them four times you will get up to 8 days free parking. You don’t need to do anything, they will automatically send you an email. I’ve parked with them more than four times on separate occasions using the same email address, and have never gotten anything. I’ve now made another reservation noting that it should be free. I’ve emailed twice to confirm with no response and the contact us link doesn’t work on their site (tried that twice too).

Just wondering if this has ever worked for anyone else.

  4. Sounds like the tour has become a lot more "civilized" since we took a cab up there...probably 15 years ago. Gave us a joint upon arrival and kept offering to take us on a tour of the pot farm. Had a great time, but it was a little spooky going there on our own.

  5. Don't depend on the maps being accurate. Last year on Celebrity Solstice on the first cruise of the season departing from Vancouver and returning to Seattle the map indicated we went east of Vancouver Island. Not the case! Went south and then around the outside of Vancouver Island.

  6. Our PVP asked us to check in with her a few days before our trip, to make certain the credit was ready. Our booking shows 2 cents charged and paid as part of the total. I think this is how they earmark it. We also had the funny looking 2 cent invoice in our email when we notified we were ready to redeem our 50ths.

Good idea...I will check with my PVP a few days before. I would just feel better if I had the charge, invoice or something in writing. I had issues with Carnival on a 25% OBC I was supposed to receive after my Dream cruise was cancelled a few years ago. I had tons of paperwork and they still didn't want to give me the entire amount.

  7. I never got anything notifying me of my milestone cruise. First I knew about hitting 25th was the white card I got on embarkation. I had to call when I got home and I'm using the credit on an upcoming Alaska cruise. I've been on two since hitting the Milestone reward, but chose to use it on the Alaskan cruise as it was more expensive.

Hopefully it will appear as an onboard credit. I have absolutely nothing in writing!

  8. my post only applies to those who have yet to sail on the pride, but seriously some people are so glass half empty that it's alarming. I am confident i will have a great sailing this week as we head out tomorrow. For those who are convinced already that it will be terrible from start. To finish, please avoid the good looking bald man so i'm even more sure to have a blast.

Some people love to be miserable, and need a constant focus of blame as to why they're not having more fun in life or that life isn't fair in general. I however, and not one of them and stay dry even when surrounded by people bathing in their own misery.

    amen!
