Need time to count...

We like to once in awhile to review the latest subjects to keep up to date.
Also enjoy attempting to keep an "Live On The QM2" if possible..
Answering questions while on board for what new is happening..
And sometimes communicating with the Roll Call soon to board if they have questions...
But.......We Still Enjoy All of Our Time On Board without Interruption.....

Our general method of selecting cabins for any sailings are selecting the deck and location which we have enjoyed in the past.
Generally on all sailing we enjoy midship and Britannia Club cabins. Midship cabins for Club are stable with very little discomfort with the movement if any we have experienced.
And on 12 Deck, we enjoy the views from that height. We really never found any reason to relocate to another location on that Deck.Even with an upgrade we were blessed to again be placed Midship on Deck 10.
On Deck 12 in Club, if we had inclement weather we just accepted the unuse of the balcony at that time and enjoyed the view out of the windows.
Inclement weather can be had on a TA, NE/CANADA, FJORD and as we experienced on a CARIBBEAN sailing. So we do also select the time of year we wish to sail.

Is smoking allowed on balconies on QE? We are booked in Princess Grill suit deck 4 for an upcoming cruise. We heard that cabins on Starboard side can be affected by cigarette smoke from above or below decks.
No Cunard Ships!
To much risk of communicating fire...
On board will inform you of locations approved..

And readable on All devices.
Sorry you have problems.
You see it on the bottom of my signature here.
Need to select the right choices.

Back before the world ended, we used to be able to create countdowns for our signature lines. They would say what your next cruise is and how many days until you set sail.
I don't see them anymore. I always thought they were fun.
I'm not going to sob uncontrollably over it, but I'm curious. -

The QM2 Grills Concierge Lounge on Deck Nine offers machine made specialty coffees that are quite good. Plus pastries in the AM and canapés in the afternoon.
DW and I even had a very quiet afternoon tea in the Concierge Lounge right below the router in the ceiling. Nice and private. Use to bring treats to the suite.

YIKES
Just stepped off the QM2 yesterday (Sunday) from a wonderful TA. Monday mornings e-mails included a letter from Cunard headquarters informing me that three people are being treated for Legionnaires disease. Whats up with that?
Please keep us informed...... thank you.....
Any hint sickness when you were on board.
Thank you.....

The minute after I posted this I realized that avoiding the mass market ships is the key. I love Cunard's Queen Victoria and will check out all of these too. Thanks, everybody!
You don't want to be attracted to party boats but lines with a certain different approach like Regents and Cunard to name a few. Not what is called Mega ships.
We've been attracted to Cunard and once HAL and never regretted. Looking forward to our next one in several months and there after.

We can see all the container ships lined up all the way across the Long Island barrier beaches waiting for their turn to enter the port all year long.
The point I was trying to make was a lot of Product is already delivered. But remaining products to be displayed and sold maybe still containerized and not delivered to vendors.

Wow. First I’m hearing about this as a NYer. 🙏that it’s settled.
It will be crippling not only for cruise industry but anything coming into the Port of NY for distribution.
On top of that, there probably be picket lines you’d have to cross.
Even though there is a lot in the city/country before Christmas delivered, the further deliveries are yet to come before the Holidays to the stores.

It does and it doesn't-- these things are mainly aimed at cargo and container ships. Sometimes when these happen there are carveouts for passenger ships and they are unaffected.
I do remember decades ago a strike while we were boarding QE2 in New York and it did affect luggage and loading stores onboard and the boarding process was a total disaster-- took hours and we didn't depart until after midnight when it should have been 4pm. All the ships staff took over longshoreman duties so when you finally did get onboard it was hopelessly understaffed and your luggage didn't show up until nearly the next morning. And this was on a ship that is vastly smaller than most of what sails today.
So basically lets hope they mediate to a quick settlement or else your day will look like one of the two I describe above.
Their intention is make a point.
My brother was a custom inspector then and remembered it well.
He had to sleep on the pier, long hours. The harbor was darted with dozens of ships.
-
Only once in my 3 decades sailing.
On the QE2 at sea that was like a percolator. Only once.
-
Heard from a NYHarbor longshore friend. It will impact and cripple if it happens. He works NY, NJ piers.
Sounds like anything floats.
Hope for early settlement.

I'm not sure that's true in the US. I just did a self-initiated upgrade on HAL and I paid the sale price, not the price it would have been when I booked. I don't know if Cunard has different rules.
Kathy,
Do you think we'll be approached on the next sailing? How soon?
Sailing Beginning of March 2025.
In a Brit Club cabin now. Did give ok for upgrade consideration.
Did enjoy & appreciate Grat Upgrade last time to PG.
Bev thinking how to handle.
Heading to CM tomorrow for 5 days for needed R&R...

My last QM2 voyage was a 14-day Canada cruise. Port intensive, so I usually had a snack ashore instead of lunch onboard,
Kathy,
We too ate on shore....some ports...
