@rafinmd, thank you for letting Lenda keep us up to date!  It sounds as if you have a terrific care team, and I am certain you are a motivated and compliant patient. We all wish you a strong and rapid recovery, and safe return home.

Oh, I do have a bit of a parental-type scold. You commented that you took time to put on some clothes before calling 911. Seconds COUNT with strokes. The paramedics will give you a blanket. No time for modesty!  Forgive me. 🤗

    My best to you!

Thanks.  Stroke was not even on my radar when I called, as there was nothing but vertigo.  Even in the hospital they had almost ruled out a stroke for a couple of days.

Good afternoon. I am very late today. i got very little sleep last night  but had a few hours this morning. DB surprised us with delicious swordfish and halibut. He has become friendly with the fish store manager and got wind of the upcoming delivery for Friday morning . It was a very tasty meal last night.

I salute sobriety day and remain grateful for mine. I would love any of delicious dishes for caprese salad  with pasta. I haven’t been to the port.

@mamaofami, Carol, so sorry to hear about Sam but I know Hospice will be able to help with the pain.

@rafinmd, Roy, it certainly sounds as if you are headed in the right direction. Do they have therapy on Sundays?

@StLouisCruisers! Enjoy the wedding! Very exciting!

@JazzyV, I am sorry that the cellulitis is taking so long to resolve and is still so painful.

@Cruising-along, Carolyn, Tana and I love “Call the Midwife”. We watched a few episodes with DB and  he grudgingly admitted it was an interesting show. We have three left for this season to watch…..

They do but they give one OT and one PT each weekend.  Since I got both today I expect nothing tomorrow.

Greetings all from St Petersburg where it is still summer.  I shouldn't complain as we had a wonderful respite from the heat onboard the Voyage of the Vikings! It will be 3 weeks Saturday since we left the Zuiderdam in Boston and I am basically back to normal, meaning cooking, cleaning and doing for myself rather than having someone else doing it for me.  Now a regular guy should be happy to stay home after such a great cruise, which is what I did for most of my life, BUT now that the clock is running on my "Golden Years", I need to keep traveling!  Most of us know you must have three things to travel: 1) The Time 2) The Money and 3) The Health.

So before any of the 3 runout, I'm going.

Next Wednesday 9/18, we have a short 4 day cruise out of Tampa.  Sadly, Holland America is no longer sailing from Tampa.  It looks like Tampa business is still strong and Royal Caribbean has 4 ships scheduled at least part of this winter season here.

It is on the Serenade of the Seas.  The fare was very attractive, so we will try it.  The Serenade is the same age as the Zuiderdam and about the same size, so it will be interesting to compare.  @rafinmdhas shared that despite his preference for Crystal and Holland America, he enjoyed Royal at times as I'm sure many of you have as well.

Special prayers for those suffering today.

Most of my travels with RCI. Have been out of Baltimore for much the same reasons.  I’ve been on 2 of Seranade’s sisters and enjoyed them.

I am at rehab trying to settle in

@cat shepard we’ve been through Heathrow numerous times, and our rule of thumb is at least three hours.   If your flight is delayed even a little bit there is no margin for error.  My two cents, I’d rather spend five hours not worrying and visiting the shops.  I’ve seen too many people panicking and running trying to make a flight.  They do have buses between the terminals,  that work well but it all takes time.   You may be fine, but I wouldn’t risk it.  If you don’t make it, you’re at the mercy of other lineups trying to get on a replacement flight.  It also depends where you are going if you need to clear customs, but you will most likely need to go through security again, Sorry to be such a downer.

I agree.  Last time I was there I spent more time at Customs and Security than making the actual transfer.
