I was an outside cruise travel agent for 5-6 years in the late 90s to early 2000s. Does that experience count?

Just occurred to me how I was lied to by the Love Boat TV show...... I'll start. Cabin size
Actually sailed on the original Love Boat twice. Cabins were exactly as on the show. And staff was amazing..wonderful maitre'd who wore a fez every evening and was The best host one could ask for. On small ship everyone got to know everyone on these longer sailings

Because you can't name TAs and OP's question haseen answered I am locking this
-
What ship? This really belongs on the roll call for your sailing
-
This has become more about cruise insurance than OP's original question but don't see a clear dividing line. So, will leave as is for now but one of you might consider a new topic like "RCI Cruisers Travel Insurance Discussion" ?? Could then lock this one?

We are trying to decide on a graduation cruise for our daughter. We have been doing the eastern but are thinking of switching to the western. How have the cruises to Mexico been? Has anyone been uncomfortable. We love Mexico and look forward to going there but are a little concerned with all the warnings.
Are you looking for information on western Caribbean like the title says or Mexico, which you asked about...or both?.

Prepaying and how tips are distributed have been discussed, debated and argued over ad nauseum on this board. Opinions are fine, arguing will get this closed. OP has a good group of answers

It sounds like Glacier Bay is the "must see" of Alaska, I wonder why RC doesn't go there.
Only so many permits to sail in to protect environment. Princess and HAL been sailing there the longest. Been to Glacier Bay 3 of my 12 Alaska cruises and its never the same.
Alaska is about the destination, not the ship imho

Unfortunately we don't have boards for western Caribbean, eastern Caribbean etc but you should also check individual boards for Honduras and Belize under Caribbean ports of Call

I can move to Ask a Cruise Question but would like to keep here if will stay on topic for Carnival. Things have changed over the years, interesting to see what Carnival has done in the past too
-
Note: if this turns into another passport thread \debate it will magically disappear... That isn't the question here. Thank you!

I'll be hosting this board now. If I miss something or a post is living in the wrong place just report it to me, and I'll check it.....and Florida departures are separate
forum.
Thanks!

18% service charge is added to all checks. gratuity is customary for all deliveries but not required obviously. The service charge is just additional profit for Carnival ($5 for a dry PB&J isn't enough as it is), it is not a tip given to the delivery or kitchen crew. If it was a tip they'd call it a gratuity.
I don't want to get into a tipping debate. I used to always tip for room service deliveries. I doubt I'll ever order room service on Carnival again - at these prices it's obvious they don't want anyone to actually order anything. $5 for a dry PB&J and $7 for half an order of TGI Friday's frozen chicken tenders is an insult.
****Please do not turn this into another tipping debate or.......*****

I suggest you go to the Ports of Call section on the message boards and look at the individual country sections . Lots of good posts here with pros and cons on the ports, tours, etc

If another roll call started for this sailing it would have been merged with the existing roll call.
