  1. I have not been on Mariner in about 10 years but will probably book later this year. She is an older ship and I am wondering if Regent has refurbished recently and maintained Regent standards. Thanks for any info.
  2. The Christmas/New Years cruise had some pretty quiet ports.Few tours,if any. Can someone give a review of the cruise so far? Thanks.
  3. The claim results can depend who you get for an adjuster at the insurance company. We are in the middle of a claim where the adjuster is nit picking us for every conceivable receipt and document imaginable. We submitted their 13 page form, then 12 pages from our travel agent, then another 5 pages of Amex receipts. I am sure they are just being thorough and careful but this adjuster is really pushing it. So, be sure to keep every scrap of paper related to your trips.
  4. Right. Those one inch tiles came loose from the stern vibration. So couldn't they use larger tiles with stronger cement OR an entirely different pool liner? Unlike Explorer and Splendor, that new ship will have just one pool for 750 passengers.
  5. The brochures and deck plans all show the deck 5 stern pool replaced with jacuzzis. That pool is very popular on Explorer and Splendor. I hope Regent did not do this on the new Grandeur which otherwise looks pretty good.
  6. Those guys appear to be in their forties and fifties.
  7. If they are going to improve food on Quest, please do it before December. We are coming from many years on Regent and Silversea where the dining is excellent. Our only cruises on Seabourn were 20 years ago on the small ships and the dining was fine.
  8. Does 48 hours apply for Seabourn private excursions as well?
  9. Some posts and reviews point out that Seabourn attracts a somewhat younger crowd than Regent and Oceania for example.Quest and Sojourn are smaller ships and I am wondering if elderly folks would stand out more.Would people in their 70s and 80s be outliers?Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks for any comments. Tripperva
  10. Which ports were switched to tender?
  11. Changing the arrival times is a big problem for those with private tours already booked. My wife is handicapped so we are forced to use private tours.O now makes us deal all over again with individual drivers to arrange tours,if possible. This customer is normally very happy with Oceania, but they have caused us problems for trips this year. Not happy!
  12. Embarkation in Miami has been getting very good reviews but disembarkation, especially at Terminal J, getting terrible reviews. Has the port of Miami fixed anything yet or is it still chaos?
  13. Antigua is a good stop. Nice beaches, resorts, people.Regent Splendor was there last week.
  14. We board tomorrow. We have been on all the other Regent ships many times but this is our first with Splendor. Thanks for the blog.
  15. I think the TVs outside on the veranda were all chucked overboard after the salt air did its thing.
  16. There are TVs in the media room and bedroom. The video does not show any in the living room or in the dining area. Just curious, especially Riviera and Vista.
  17. We board the Splendor in Miami just hours after you arrive. I hope the ship will still be seaworthy after that 70th birthday bash. Have a great voyage!
  18. We are on in January, our first time on the larger O ship. We liked the R class O very much. Do most passengers prefer the larger size or the smaller size O ships?
  19. Since Regent will do a photo, can you complete the check in and get boarding pass without submitting a photo ?
  20. I find it harder to get the upper categories on Regent. They sell out far in advance. We now book O more often.
