  1. It was on Deck 5 mid-ship DR last Fall and IDK if they would have relocated it. It used to be pretty much universally on Deck 6 mid-ship. Since you are new to Princess, I suggest you study the deck plans on Princess.com. You will find two DR's on Deck 6 - one aft and one mid-ship - and they share a kitchen. Third DR is Deck 5 mid-ship, right below the one on Deck 6. The CC Dining section is always in the DR that is open for breakfasts and lunches (sea days only) so that eligible guests always have access to CC section. It will be clear on board, so don't worry about it. As a CC Diner you do NOT make any reservations using DMW App - you just show up and are seated. You would only use DMW App to make Specialty Dining (SD) reservations.
  2. You can attempt a new res and lose nothing at all if you do not confirm the offered replacement.
  3. This may be your problem. I would not use the App this way (setup your res and then add someone else later which is the way it reads). You need to start fresh and add friends as dining companions (after setting them up as Travel Companions). Then make a res with all four of you selected and you need to select the Private option and not the Sharing option to get what you want. If nothing suitable is available by now, then ask on board. Also, add yourselves as Travel Companions in your friends' file.
  4. I didn't intend to spell it like dialing. I agree on the extension varying. Often a button on the phone to use or call GS and they can transfer call or provide the numeric extension to dial.
  5. I feel like a bobblehead when I read about Princess' failings since I am often left SMH sadly.
  6. Actually, very few of the ships have a dedicated card/games room. Mostly you have to use other venues such as a DR in off-meal hours, or the CG, or some similar location. The Horizon Court or World Fresh Market becomes popular as well. The ships that have a library are mostly not suited for game playing in that room. The best ships for a dedicated games area are the Coral and Island.
  7. You can call DINE Line from any ship phone. You can visit Guest Services and submit a request, but I wouldn't count on that getting to the right people in a timely manner. Another option is to visit the DR for lunch on embarkation and ask the Mgr on duty about being added to the list. I would call the DINE line and also mention it to my HW (Head Waiter for section) or DR Mgr. Never hurts to add the personal touch and express interest.
  8. IMO, it depends. I have seen different show times (main theater I presume you mean) during the same voyage. 7:30 is about the earliest I have seen or read about. It is really up to the ED/CD to design the schedule. I think when the times change slightly is tied to more if it is the ship production show or a guest artist/comedian.
  9. It was more obvious in an earlier version and was part of a redesign last year (early Fall perhaps??). Don't recall which month it changed.
  10. We always elect one of the two mid-ship DR's. But we also are never or rarely in an aft section cabin. I don't have insight to all ships on this, but I have seen a trend to only open up two DR's for advance bookings. The one missing will be the other mid-ship DR and should be the one with Club Class Dining section. My thinking has been they were keeping one DR out to cover for walk-ups and/or on-board last-minute or day-of reservations. I believe this plan makes it easier for the DR Mgmt team to setup tables for guests asking for same location and same waiters (a.k.a. TD-like experience).
  11. There was no questions asked nor checking in Civitavecchia last year. In fact, I have seen very little reporting of this on here and if a guest has priority check-in access, it doesn't matter.
  12. Right and I think many guests received that information. It was patently unfair because luck of the draw sort of thing based on where you happen to have a cabin. Many folks on the first decks might be coming later and many on the final decks might be there sooner. One thing has been true and that is that guests with priority could/can arrive anytime that suits them for check-in. At least with arrival groups, the guest has the opportunity to select their preferred time slot and if it is important to them, they can be prepared to select early on when it opens. Of course, we know also that many guests have issues with the Princess App, so they should not have be last to check-in through no fault of their own.
  13. Before. Here is a reference based on the terminal we passed through: It is called Aelia Duty Free. Website: https://www.aeliadutyfree.it/roma/en/wines-en.html
  14. They invented the Arrival Group concept due to Covid so they could supposedly manage the flow and they had/have the flexibility to adjust the numbers in each group and sub-group. With Covid protocols basically gone by-the-by, doesn't matter as much. Princess doesn't tell us the size of groups.
  15. Wow. Interesting take and I won't disagree based on what you did. We did a private tour into Elqui Valley during our stop there 5 years ago and it was a highlight of our S.A. cruise.
  16. Well, the boarding times are not a rule as you indicate, but a humorous observation. Thing is, these days I think they have opened up the quantity of guests for the early boarding time slots that there is going to be a large number of people no matter. It also seems that other lines have lots of early check ins as well.
  17. Enoteca Cavacini on Via Gorizia. It is behind the large cathedral on the main N/S road by waterfront. There are no real wine stores (to my knowledge) in the town and other wine bars charge menu type prices for wine bottles to go. A couple of other stores had small selections and the grocery store only had uninteresting plonk and other non-descript wine it seemed.
  18. Yes, there has typically always been a "pecking" order: Wedding parties - presumably with ceremony that day (have not seen one of these in many years) GENERAL BOARDING Disabled guests with wheelchair escort. Suite guests (regardless of Captain's Circle Member Level) and CC Elite Members. Club/Reserve guests (regardless of Member Level) and CC Platinum Members. Remaining guests. Note the following: These groups are only meaningful for guests who arrive and are checked in prior to general boarding of the ship. Once that begins and the holding areas clear out, everyone else simply walks onto the ship right after check-in procedure. During this second phase, there should still be a priority check-in line for the groups 1/2/3 listed above. There is most often not any priority line for the security screening which normally occurs prior to check-in and is the first thing that happens after dropping off any large bags. Also, within each group, staff generally hands out boarding cards in letter groups. So, within Elite/Suite, for example, there will be so many Group A's, Group B's. They call guests to board by group so the earliest arriving Elites/Suites head on board ahead of those arriving after them. Generally speaking as things have been reported to go off track at times and in certain ports. Normally, the staff are asking or looking to see if arriving guests have priority handling. Just ask if not sure where you should be.
  19. I have seen both, but most used to T2 in Port Everglades. At T2, there is a room designated as lounge and it is larger than the one I recall several years back. The room is upstairs. Also upstairs are quite a few rows of seating between the two bridges that go to the ship. That seating area was used for Platinum members and I recall being there many times looking wistfully over at the Elite/Suite lounge and wondering how many of those folks would be heading on board before us and the sprint to Sanctuary could begin. (Seems like a long time ago now). Anyway, I am not sure if they always use that seating now. But, whether T2 or Civitavecchia (as an example from our most recent departures), the staff hand our different letter or number group cards to Elite/Suite versus others. We were sitting in a different section of open area seating in the terminal in Civi, for example. It doesn't really matter too much as they call the groups by calling Suites/Elites first. So, even if sharing a space, the Platinum groups (and it used to include Club Class when that first came along) should be coming right after when their group is called. IOW, a Platinum guest would not be handed a Group A card at check-in - at least not normally. All I can say is this has been our experience, so they do try, but not every cruise terminal is setup to have a dedicated space or "lounge" for Elite and Suite. I might add that where we did sit in Civi was closest seating to heading on board and they had a table of refreshments like you would find at T2 in Florida.
  20. Nope. Club/Reserve can be a mini-suite. They used to be grouped with the Platinums.
  21. Your post reads like the plan is to buy most or all of the wine prior to boarding the ship. That means you are likely departing from Civitavecchia. Are you purchasing the wine there or are you travelling around Italy prior to the cruise? I can recommend a place in Civi to buy wine, but also a place at the airport if you are in the right terminal was decent. Anyway, depending on when you check-in, there may be no wine table manned by Princess. We boarded twice in Civi last fall - two different pier locations - and most likely because we arrive early, there was no one there. If you do encounter the wine table, and have no plans to consume the wine, I would ask them to keep it for you like liquor and return at end of voyage. That would be a solution to avoid corkage fees because their MO is to charge it if they are catching folks during check-in. If no one is manning the station, then you could just take the wine to cabin and as long as it remains there, you have no worries about corkage. For ports during the voyage, you won't have any issue bringing back small quantity and avoiding corkage (for sure a bottle each won't cause any issue),
  22. (BIG) If the system is working as designed, CC Members at Platinum and Elite levels can book dining as soon as cruise booking has a deposit down and appears in the Princess App. Others are supposed to have to wait until they have made full payment (which could be ahead of the actual FP Date).
  23. It is entirely up to you how much time you spend on CC forums and which ones you open up and read.
