  1. I presume you are talking about everyone you mention is in the "with reservation" line. I guess one has to wait to be seated unless the guest has already locked down a set table for each night and can just walk to it. This is what we did and never waited in lines. As to your direct question, there is no way to know. Same idea as you join the long TSA line at the airport and you have no way of knowing how many people in front of you have an earlier flight or later flight than you do. If 100 people have a 5:20pm res, it is going to take them a while to seat everyone. The DR's are large as you know. That said, I have never seen close to 100 people in line last Fall. ETA: Perhaps the Mgr or Host at the door should be calling up those with 5:20pm and then start on the 5:40's, etc?
  2. I hope you get an explanation. One thing is certain - if you have a booking and a deposit is paid, your cruise fare and perks will not change unless you initiate a change of cabin category, or want to re-fare under a new offer from Princess. Your TA needs to explain where the $200 OBC went from Princess (they recently had a promo where each guest got $100 OBC). The extra $50 is a group OBC from the Agency because of their bulk purchasing of cabin space. Another note for future is that there are online agencies (with live reps) who do offer discounts off the cruise fare. IMO, there is no point in using a TA unless getting a discount off the Princess pricing. Good luck getting this resolved. Please let us know how things turn out.
  3. Wait and see what happens after TA follow-up. Did your TA give you a discount off the cruise fare, or did you get the same price that was shown at the time when shopping for a cruise on Princess.com? What you say can happen, but there is usually an explanation and you just don't have the details as yet.
  4. I believe that was later rectified by GS. Unless you are talking about someone else. There are a lot of posts about drink limit. It is quite clear that HQ at least intended the limit to be $15. Who knows how the system is programmed and whether each ship needs separate software updates or whether most of the logic is on central server as in a client-server type setup (in which case all ships billing ought to be working the same).
  5. Similar to how I felt about our pricing for the cruises we took in Mediterranean region this past Fall. Won't be seeing those prices anytime soon. Especially with inflation and price of everything going up.
  6. They were working on it during Covid and released it during Covid. I am writing of the "new" Princess App (formerly Medallion App). Having just passed the 1.75 year mark since first release, I agree that the vast majority of issues ought to be fixed by now. It seems to me the worst issue remaining is data integrity and it is difficult to understand the root cause of that as an outsider.
  7. <deleted>... did not intend to post on some old thread.
  8. I do not agree with this post in two ways. I will grant the some guests have not seen SD credits applied when making a booking using the App, but plenty of guests - myself included - have seen this work in DMW. Also, if a guest goes to Sabi's first, they can ask to have the service charge billed to cabin and save the credit for the CG.
  9. Where does it say $22 each? Even Premier has $20 limit? If you are talking AUD, then you should have included the currency.
  10. Don't understand the argument since guests who booked with the Plus Fare got the beverages included with the New Grounds Coffee package. Seems to me it was redundant - unless the guest was designating a non-Plus guest to be the recipient/beneficiary of the coffees.
  11. Eventually this thread will get to the answer the OP is looking for. LOL.
  12. A lot of us are not happy to see @GoDucksNation make that post. Suffice to say you can gamble in the casino - either slots or tables - by charging your stake money or chips to the cabin account. You need to play for a while, you can then cash out the balance which may or may not include winnings. (This is a topic we don't get into much here).
  13. My thought is that DCL placed the dock on the west (southwest) side since it is more sheltered for the ships. I expect the prevailing winds blow on the east side of the island.
  14. It is called Crew Chat in the Princess App and great majority of reports on using it have been positive.
  15. At least the Zero Proof is at a better price point than PCL's Zero Alcohol. But the other prices would have me drunk 24/7 trying to get value.
  16. Is Bill Nye a Princess forum member?
  17. It seems to me an odd way to look at the math. And as a first cruiser, you won't be get any discount that one or two others mentioned. I agree with another comment that you can get the same benefit from AARP Rewards with Princess Gift Cards whether you purchase the Plus or Premier package. If you want to use that "gift" from AARP Rewards, then why not do it for paying off the cruise balance owing? I have deduced there are two of you going on a 7-night cruise and you booked a mini-suite. Crew Incentive = 2 x 7 x $17 = $238. MedallionNet = 2 x 7 x $15 = $210. Total "Fixed" Costs = $438. Cost of PLUS pkg = 2 x 7 x $60 = $840. Amount allocated to drinks = $402, or avg $57.43/day combined. This is $48.67 total from menu prices, after taking out the 18% bar gratuity. Do you order enough alcohol and non-alcohol drinks each day between you and cabinmate to come to $48+/day on average. Think about the port days if you are off the ship most of the day. If you want to consider the $200 OBC as "free money", then you have only $202 allocation to drinks which comes to $28.86/day combined - or ~$24.45 worth of menu pricing combined. That may be a no-brainer decision for you, but the OBC can be used in other ways. Are you doing any Princess excursions, or doing your own excursions? Are you doing any Specialty Dining (cost is up to $39/pp)? I make the decision based on how much I am paying in the package price each day for drinking and do we spend that much typically. A lot of people consider their OBC as free dollars so it doesn't matter. Not me. I just look at whether I am going to get any value from the package versus a la carte.
  18. That is what PCL HQ has said will be the case.
  19. You should have informed your waiter that the dinner was on you. Otherwise, they are going to assume each cabin is charged as the default.
  20. It is on the spreadsheet. So, I do factor it in, but there isn't much point in doing it anymore with PCL raising many prices. I just happen to be lucky and rarely have to pay. Being among the first at check-in, it seems they are never ready with the wine table staffed. (I suppose you were just joking mostly). Anyway, there isn't much point in that spreadsheet anymore. For one thing, why would I want to pay $35 - $40 for $8 retail wine when I can bring on $20-$25 retail wine?
  21. Don't say that!! Heaven forbid!! I consider this one of the best perks with Princess.
  22. Don't have each couple make their own res. That is going to unnecessarily block three tables. If you want to do it ahead of time, share your cruise booking numbers around the group, and everyone ad the other two couples as Travel Companions in the App. Then ONE person can add the other two couples as Dining Companions and make the reservation in DMW for the CG. When making a res after selecting dining party, it will book a table for six. The CG can easily handle tables of six and they can go larger than that if needed. Doing it this way means the person booking has to pay - less any SD credits they may have - so you just need to get reimbursed from the other couples for whatever they owe. It may be just easier/cleaner to do it on the ship. If booking on the ship, then do as @Knickearth suggested - again ONE person makes the res and provides the names and cabin numbers included.
