  1. First, thanks for your detailed report. As an explanation for some of the numbers in the MedallionNet plan, I think there is a gap in pricing changes and hence a bug that is at least temporarily favoring the guest. The old pricing for MedallionNet was: PRE-CRUISE ON-BOARD 1-Device $10 $20 4-Devices $15 $25 As you can see, the price difference to 4-devices was only $10/day until recently. That means $5/day for Elites. That would come to $25 for a 5-night voyage. It seems to me that the Upgrade logic from the provided 1-device package with Plus Fare is still calculating the upcharge based on the OLD price difference and not the new. New pricing for MedallionNet is $15/day single device and $40/day for 4-devices - a $25/day difference. Whether they pushed it too far or not is an argument perhaps, but I can certainly see justification to have >$10/day price difference to quadruple the number of devices. You mentioned a pre-cruise price of $100 for 4-devices. Using the new announced pricing scheme, the cost for 5-night voyage is $200 total and you would get 50% off. So that is explained. What is not explained (yet) is why the ship seems to have the old pricing scheme. Supposedly, the new pricing scheme is the same on-board as pre-cruise. If you have a chance to quiz the Internet Cafe Mgr/Rep about the on-board pricing amounts, that would be great to know for certain. If they are truly charging only $125 for 4-devices on your voyage ($25/day), that is definitely the old price and of course, whatever the price, you would get 50% off ($62.75). But you didin't need to purchase the full plan. Perhaps there is some kind of delay in applying the new pricing scheme for MedallionNet, or the rep told you old prices?? I can also see another system bug as you mentioned applying the package on-board did not auto-register you as having the single-device MedallionNet plan. Although you didn't mention it, it will be interesting to find out if your daily Crew Incentive automatically doesn't appear - or appears and is credited back without you intervening.
  2. Not sure why you clicked on that, but it did what it should have done. Try doing things in the App once you are in, like checking your profile, your passport and photo info, etc. I am avoiding going into specifics as I know there has been some design changes and I don't have a booking to utilize the App with at present.
  3. Perhaps you have not seen any of the many admonishments on here to never attempt to use "Link a Booking". If you cannot login to the Medallion App (smartphone or web version), enter your Name, Birthdate and Booking Number as the alternate login process. Also, try logging in to Princess.com with your email address and pswd and then update your pswd to something new. Wait a day or so and try the new login using the App. If you are still stuck, contact Princess rep and see if they can see anything wrong in your account. Sometimes guests have found they actually have two or more Captain's Circle Member numbers. Or their Birthdate is incorrect in the System.
  4. So true. And yet we seem to have to go over and over it again to convince some folks.
  5. Nope. We are awaiting an IT fix in Princess App or word from someone live on a ship this week beginning a new cruise.
  6. The coffee package is also covered on that same beverages webpage. Perhaps you might consider investing in a larger screen monitor for the cell phone? Scroll down to bottom.
  7. LOL on sentence two - makes zero sense to me. They were dreaming.
  8. The revised T&C's have already been posted on Princess.com for some time. Good luck finding them on the ship.
  9. ??? What do you mean different? Princess describes all the elements of the revised packages on their website.
  10. Is MedallionNet indeed the same price on board on Day 1 as pre-cruise like Princess HQ has stated? New prices are $15/day single device and $40/day for 4-devices. Interested to know the new single-day only purchase of internet (used to be $20 and I figure $25 or so now).
  11. Pricing for the special desserts included with PLUS and PREMIER? Someone posted on another thread that there were problems in delivering, so guests were getting $10 rebates (not sure what it was for PLUS vs PREMIER). I am presuming guests not on packages can order these desserts for a fee, much like ordering hard ice cream treats.
  12. I think of significance is the package still for sale at the IC?
  13. No one needs to be on board to verify that. Just look on Princess.com for the prices. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/beverages/
  14. This some time resurrected topic is also not related to present-day performance. There is really no point in any discussion about the old free limited minutes plans. Suggest closing this thread to Moderators.
  15. Interesting. So, is it a recommendation or a Captain's order? If the latter, seems odd on the compliance or it's just that mask mandates are so far gone now around world.
  16. I wonder if it only affects multiple saved cruises? Nope - just saved one. But I do know the source of the problem. If you shop a cruise the normal search way, you eventually end up with the main page of a voyage and it has a URL like this: https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/details/?voyageCode=B309&fareType=BESTFARE If you save the voyage, the saved URL is this: https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/details/?voyageCode=B309 Seems to me that the IT incompetents once again slipped up when Princess redesigned the cruise presentation pages recently. Apparently, providing a Fare Type is required now. If you take the first URL and delete that last section to make it look like the second one, it fails with same error message - as one might expect. I note that the bug also logs you out, so it is a double PITA. Wish we had a direct email to general IT team and not just the Medallion team.
  17. Don't mind the self-test, but all those days with mask on? Not for me, TYVM. Enjoy!
  18. Same thing for Android. FEB 17/23. Ver 3.0.106918. (IDK why they don't come up with a clean renumber sometime - like 3.11.
  19. The pure beverage packages that include alcohol were always over-inflated high cost, making them no point to be buying at all when you consider the "fixed costs" of Crew Appreciation and MedallionNet. Those two are $47 per couple. if ONE person wants drinks, the new totals are over $153 and over $147. It's not much of a stretch at all to pay $160 for PLUS for 2 ppl or $170 for PREMIER for 2 ppl and forget about the drinks-alone packages. The new pricing is relatively lower as I recall the old pricing being about 2X the PLUS package cost (virtually $80).
  20. Yes, so a ship needs to be starting a new voyage as of today or the nearest day in future following today. Has anyone actually confirmed with Guest Services on a ship that the cost is the same ($60/pp or $85/pp) as pre-cruise booking upcharge? Has anyone actually confirmed with GS Desk that the cost goes on stateroom account and not directly to a Credit Card (so that OBC indeed is used to offset the charges)? And do both Guest 1&2 in a cabin have to order and pay for the package when doing it on board as is required when booking a cruise? (I would think answer is YES to the last question).
  21. The only item directly charged to a CC on board is the FCD program. I find it a stretch they will do this with Plus & Premier. I am sure some/many folks will see it as a way to burn OBC - and that is fine. I will continue to look at the packages as of no value to us, no matter how they get paid for. I have better uses for our OBC than burn it on Plus/Premier that don't have value to us personally (don't drink anywhere near enough to justify $73/day combined).
  22. For us in steerage, the drinks portion bumps to $36.50/pp/day or $73 combined. We don't even approach that with Elite mini-bar and especially with BYOW.
  23. That said, it does make 99.9% sense that such a purchase on board will be charged to the stateroom account and hence be offset by any OBC just like are other charges to the cabin.
  24. As part of CCL's newer environmental responsibility actions, why not provide disposal bins for the Princess Medallions so that you can help recycle the metal and battery involved? Not everyone is looking for another fridge magnet.
