  1. Despite the current situation - which is no issue as you must have read here by now - there is no guarantee something adverse won't happen by the time you board. Could be weather. Could be a port. Could be the ship. Could be almost anything.
  2. I have been wondering if there is a trend to keep Deck 5 Mid DR open for walk-ups (in addition to CC Dining which may be located there).
  3. And that is par for the course. Been like that for years now.
  4. Are the drinks watered down??? Is that a serious question?? Only if you let the ice cubes melt.
  5. Yes, it should have. Here is the theory of the system from Princess: If you are Platinum or Elite, you should have immediate access to book dining as soon as you have a booking with a deposit down and the booking is showing in the Princess App. If you are not yet at those levels in Captain's Circle, then dining opens after you make Final Payment. Note this does not necessarily mean the FP Date - it means when the guest makes FP, which could be sooner of course.
  6. Just like the cruise line can change your cabin, the airline can change your seat.
  7. If we could trust DMW, we wouldn't need to worry about printing out what we reserved in order to prove we actually had something.
  8. Our experience is the check-in is all the same for priority and the agent goes and fetches the Medallions at the end if guest doesn't already have them in hand. It really is not a big deal, nor any appreciable delay.
  9. You can share any internet plan with any other guest(s) on board. You would provide them your cabin number and birthdate. Those are the MedallionNet login credentials. No need to discuss with anyone other than with whom you are sharing.
  10. That would be a nice change.
  11. This topic should be verboten here. You can setup a casino account at tables or slots and you can charge your cabin account for funds to gamble with. Enough said.
  12. I just thought you were turning into a part-time hijacker.
  13. ABSOLUTELY!! Never attempt to use the link booking option. It should not even be there for guests.
  14. You mean there are actually new ports in existence you have not yet been too?!? 😉
  15. Your answer is posted in the main thread you referred to.
  16. It should clear up within 2 days. Perhaps not quite enough time had gone by when you last checked. It takes time for the two systems to sync. Lord knows why it takes so long considering App is almost 2 years old now.
  17. They probably don't want folks getting so comfortable for free that they would ignore the Sanctuary option.
  18. I gather you have missed my posts on other threads of this topic that the new MedallionNet pricing is the same pre-cruise and on-board so there is no need to purchase in advance.
  19. IIRC, there is a scale just inside (outside?) the gym door. I would hazard a guess that Coral would have one as well??
  20. No they cannot do that. But some guests report getting some perk or other. I prefer the cash discounts off my cruise fare at source. No OBC nor gift cards.
  21. In reality it is over 1,600 but truth be told, most of it is out-dated and not as relevant now due to App changes, and App bugs. DMW is an App solution for self-serve booking of MDR's and Specialty Dining (SD) venues. It is a different concept than type/style of dining like TD or ATD. SUPPOSEDLY, Princess has maintained the TD experience for those who want it. They said so from DAY 1 of DMW and still do on their website. I define the TD experience as same table and wait staff at the same time each night. With the new scheme, you don't necessarily have to begin the res at one of two single fixed times each evening. Unfortunately, the App is not capable of delivering on the TD experience because it is not a complex enough program to keep disparate parties together each night of the voyage (Sharing Tables), not can it guarantee the same table is assigned each night (Private or Sharing Tables). All you can do is book the same DR at the same time each night and then speak to DR Mgr or Host to request the same table/waiters each night. MANY guests have had success doing this - me included (on two different ships). My impression is that DR staff are getting the hang of making this happen for guests, but there have been reports of DR staff informing guests on certain ships that the App sets things up and they cannot override it. Clearly this is not true, so it is either laziness or lack of training/expertise with the staff version of the App. To say that TD is no more is not the entire story. You could say AT is gone as well, but that is in name only, because guests can certainly present themselves certain DR doors and be a "walk up" as in older days and be accommodated in turn. But they do have the flexibility to make a random res as well, subject to availability. Back to TD - true that the App doesn't deliver it, but you can still arrange it on board. This is more true (and easy) to do for a private table where you have assembled and know your own dining party. Much more difficult to herd strangers to form a table for the entire voyage as the first bunch you are seated with may not have the same interest. But a guest can try.
  22. In this case, why not book a private tour company for similar thing? We did for Ephesus out of Kusadasi port and for Istanbul. Used sister/brother companies and got a good rate for booking two.
  23. Folks have been saying at least for past year that the envelopes now have Princess Cruises printed on them even though coming from an outside provider.
  24. Not a fluke if you can find it again. My rec is to go to a 3rd party booking engine that displays all the valid fares for you. These sites access Princess POLAR from their webpages and also have you enter your Name, BD, and CC Member Nbr. This way, you are shown all the applicable fares. Many of these websites indicate the Princess Fare Code (3-char alphanumeric). It may not be readily visible, and may have to click one deeper to look at details and conditions/rules to see it. You can give a TA or CVP that specific Fare Code if they are not "seeing" what you see. (PCL website only shows you one possible Fare Code and is supposed to be the best one for you, but not always work that way).
  25. Thanks for the play-by-play report. If the new price is good, can't you just cancel and begin anew?
