We also rebooked for the Grandiosa (Oct 23) and was told by American Airlines that I could only rebook up to June  6 (Because that it the one year mark from when I purchased the tickets).  She gave me a link to send an email to Customer Relations and she said they would extend that date given the circumstances   Once they do, I will be able to rebook the flights to BCN with no change fee.   I hope this helps.  Suggest you email United's Customer Relations team.

Welcome to the cruise for October 23rd. We too will be sailing aboard Grandiosa. It's just so unfortunate that things have developed to the level we all find ourselves in right now. Hopefully this situation will get under control before then.

Thanks for a nice review. We too love Celebrity but refuse to pay their current suite prices. We booked the Grandiosa YC out of Barcelona for mid April. Looking forward to trying a new cruise line.

We also have sailed several times with both Celebrity and RCCL in suites and booked the Grandiosa YC but in October. Would be interested in hearing your experience on board since there are not many reviews yet for this ship.

    Thanks!

We booked the Grandiosa out of Barcelona for next spring for half of what X wanted for a Sky suite which as we all know is entry level for their suites. It’s a very port intensive itinerary so we would not have used the suites services on X as much anyway. I don’t expect the same level of service on MSC as we have received on X but I am now more prepared thanks to Adam and his review.

Will be interesting to hear your assessment of the Grandiosa since we booked her too out of Barcelona next October in the YC. We sail in two weeks on the Equinox in a CS so looking forward to seeing her new changes. We love Celebrity but the prices are becoming too steep so maybe MSC will be the alternative.

There should be very few reasons to have to take a passport with you ashore. I know there are exceptions like casinos (Monte Carlo for example) where they require passports. None of the European ports I have visited needed you to have a passport to tour around. I’m not sure if places like Russia where visas come into play require you to have your passport on you. A driver’s license or national ID should be fine. They haven’t even been checking those at any of the ports on this cruise. They only ask for your cruise key card.

Great!. Thanks for the info. Our itinerary is the same as the sailing you are presently on. 😊

  5. What a great review. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and seeing it through your eyes as a solo cruiser (although I've never cruised solo). Maybe I will leave the hubby at home and try it. 🤣

We're sailing Equinox post revolutionizing in suite class so I'm looking forward to the changes.

    Keep enjoying and posting!!!

It's okay if nobody actually reads this but I just had to say it somewhere so I don't tell my kids.   They are 10 and 11 and the plan is to wake them up day of the cruise, hop on a train to NYC (we live in VA) and board the cruise all while not telling them what we are doing at all!  Grandparents will be watching our 2 little ones, age 4 and 1.  It was just too expensive for us to add them and I'm banking on the hope they won't remember when we left them behind...insert a whole lot of mom guilt and hope it doesn't ruin my vacation.  We go to Bermuda and then Grand Turk.  Have no idea what they will want to do excursion wise so we may just wing it.

I would love to hear others stories if they surprised someone like this and what the reaction was!

We're doing the exact same thing on Sunrise in July for our grandson and granddaughter (12 and 6). Our daughter knows (she's coming too) but the kids don't. We cruise every year in October and our grandson always wants to go. Can't wait to see the surprise on his face when he realizes we're not going to the Hamptons. 😁

We have a Celebrity suite March 30 on Summit, but I hope we see pictures before then. If not, I will post some.

Loved the CS on Summit. We are actually booked in a CS on Equinox for October. Can't wait to see what it looks like after the Revolution! :classic_biggrin:

I'm so glad you posted:)  I was looking for this answer too.  Hoping being in a suite we can also snag a cabana on our trip.  Online is showing as sold out. Love the pictures. Which cabanas would be the best ones?

We received the email from the concierge on Anthem last Saturday, requested a cabana and was confirmed. We sail this Saturday so life is good! 😊
