  1. One thing I look at on cruises like this are how many sea days? If I am traveling that far I want less sea days. I did the Shanghai to Singapore cruise on Celebrity many years ago and loved it although we left the cruise in Bangkok and spend extra time there. I really like Vietnam but would pick an itinerary that had some overnights. We did Vietnam in 2021 as a land tour and really enjoyed that. I am doing the Japan cruise this October on Celebrity.
  2. The regular price of the Classic drink package with tips is $105 per night that is over $1600 for the cruise. WIFI is $400 and Tips are $288 for the cruise, that is $2288. The difference between the cruise only and the all included is $2346, less the 400 OBC is 1946. So just the all included are more if you had to purchase at the regular price. So that is probably how they are basing the price. Yes you can get deals but not always and not on every cruise.
  3. If someone plans to buy the drink package separate anyways then this is a good deal. The difference in price is still better than buying each perk individually. It has nothing to do with whether someone would drink that much or not, it is whether a person wants all of those perks. Also with the price of drinks onboard it is not very hard for a lot of people to spend that much in a day especially on a TA with all of those sea days.
  4. Which is why I said if they only get 2 bids whether that is unlikely or not I would think they are going to take the larger one especially if they do not continue to try to get any other bids.
  5. How much is the cost of drinks, wifi and tips on a 16 night cruise? The difference in price between the cruise only and the all included is around $1950 if you deduct the extra $400 OBC. Without any discounts I think just the drinks and wifi would be around $2000.
  6. That also depends if they have gotten multiple bids on multiple different categories. I would bet if they only got 2 bids for the suite they will take the highest one no matter the current room. Money in the pocket rather than gamble for another bid to come in. I thought I also saw somewhere that certain Captains Club status's may have an advantage??
  7. I would think this process is geared to award the highest bid with the upgrade and probably doesn't care what the persons current cabin category is. They are trying to make as much additional profit as they can.
  8. I am able to see the exact same wording on a mock booking. Here is the option on the Veranda cabin - Here is the price breakdown of the Veranda which again says The Retreat -
  9. The problem is if you look at the screen shots it specifically says The Retreat on the upgrade option for the Veranda. It also shows Retreat on the price breakdown of the Veranda. Another great example of Celebrity IT. This is not right if someone is not watching this closely they would assume they purchased the Retreat upgrade on the veranda.
  10. Yes but the price breakdown on the Veranda is still showing Retreat. I did a mock booking on a different sailing and when I selected the All Included it shows - All Included on the price page.
  11. If you pay additional to get the Retreat access then yes they get to use all the Retreat benefits.
  12. You screen shot specifically says Retreat on the price breakdown page, the all included does not say that. Did you check a veranda same category on it's own to see if the price is the same?
  13. I have heard others have been able to do this by calling in. I think everything is based on availability also.
  14. Have you tried to do another mock booking? Also check to see what the price of just a similar category veranda is and make sure it is the same as you were charged. That should at least give you an idea if the Retreat upgrade for that room was not added.
  15. That is not what this person is talking about. On the ships with the Sky Suites and connected Verandas there is an option to purchase the Retreat benefits for the 2nd cabin. If you look at the previous screen shots you can see this option is there for the veranda cabin.
  16. I hope everyone sends an email to the executive offices regarding this policy.
  17. Did you get an invoice emailed to you? Does it show the Retreat on that cabin? Or even look online at your booking and see what it says.
  18. If you reprice you only get the current promotions. So yes if you originally booked with a promo with a specific amount of OBC and the new promo has a different amount of OBC then that is what you get. Other than that there shouldn't be any other things you will lose unless you go from a all included to a cruise only rate.
  19. Have you checked your sailing cruise planner today to see if upgrading is on special? Also if you have certain Captains Club levels I believe there is a discount on the upgrade but you have to call for that.
  20. If you look at what I screen shot above it specifically says all 4 of the Suite perks for any suite are not included in any Moveup.
  21. Well then even in that case they would not get premium if they have only the basic. According to Celebrity it specifically says the Premium Beverage, WIFI, Tips and OBC perks of a suite are not included in MOVEUP bids.
  22. Are you sure the link isn't taking you to this page which is what I posted. It is the summary of all suites it is not the suite specific page. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/suite-class
  23. Sorry I thought you said Premium Beverage. Isn't all WIFI the same now? But if they do not have any wifi already then they would not get it according to the Celebrity website.
  24. I agree, when you add in the included upgraded beverage and tips plus the OBC it might be less or close to just book in advance and not have to worry about it.
