Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you so much everyone. I will stick with what we have. We do like being closer to the elevators but we've never opened onto the entrance before. It sounds like it will be perfect for us. We are travelling with friends who are on the other side of the ship but a few doors down.
  2. Hi Everyone We've just booked our first HAL cruise, having previously cruised on Disney and more so, Royal Caribbean. So I know over the next ten months I'm going to have a tonne of questions. Firstly, we booked cabin 7140 which opens directly onto the stairs and elevators. 7182 is also available and about the 2nd or 3rd last cabin on the port side. Just wondering if we would be better off changing. Has anyone had one of these cabins that opens to the stairs and found an issue with too much noise? I'm probably overthinking but I am a bit of a planner and love to go over every detail. We are on an Alaskan cruise leaving Vancouver on 1 June visiting Juneau, Skagway, Ketchican and Glacier Bay.
  3. I've just booked Raw on 5 for our upcoming Celebrity Edge cruise. There is no cover charge like the other restaurants. Does this mean it is complementary or do we pay a la carte prices on board when we are eating there? When I've looked previously it was $55.
  4. Ok ended up booking the Edge stateroom but then phoned and upgraded to a Prime Aquaclass, deck 10 midship.
  5. Thanks. I'm looking midship on Decks 6, 7 or 8 for Edge Stateroom whereas I can get midship 7, 8 or 9 with the premium. I'm thinking for the few hundred dollars difference, I may as well go for the cheaper one given that its still midship and only one deck lower than the highest for Prime.
  6. We are about to book our first cruise with Celebrity on Edge in Australia. We've only cruised Royal Caribbean and Disney in the past. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two cabins? I can't really see anything different apart from the price.
  7. I believe there is a band called 'Back in the Day' onboard 1 November -1 December. They are an 80's tribute band. We are cruising November 24 so I'm looking forward to this.
  8. We are on the Quantum 23 November. Our checkin date said 9 October but it actually didn’t open until 1am on the 10th. I checked at 3am and was able to get 11am arrival time.
  9. Haha. It's a thought. Hubby and I are booked to get on, they day they get off. Might have to extend. 🙂 No I haven't. I was just googling now. We usually book with a US agent as all our cruises have been US departures. So I'm not sure of my options from here.
  10. Thanks. I've just tried a dummy booking for February and still got the same response. I wondered if it was because they don't turn 18 for a couple of months so tried moving the birthday up to say they were 18 to see if this was the issue. But that didn't make a difference either. I hope the schoolies aren't too much of an issue. They are looking to be independent and have chosen to cruise as they are wanting to avoid the schoolies parties.
  11. Yes, Definitely the Australian version. We've both tried on different laptops.
  12. Yes it definitely says 18 on their website. We've run across the issue in the US. We've cruised twice out of Florida and had to split hubby and I up in the bookings to place a child (teen) in each cabin with an adult. We then just got it changed onboard.
