Now this makes me sad, Alfredo's was always Princess' best kept secret and now the change means other people won't get to experience it. Thank you for offering to take a pic though! x

Been watching it, the passengers featured were selected based on them applying to an advert. It does seem to misrepresent the Princess experience - no queuing at embarkation, and not everyone is greeted by the entertainment director or captain, or have free sparkling wine and canapes waiting in their stateroom. Plus towel animals are not that common at all! I found it strange that they had a vegan family on there and focussed on the vegan food experiences in port rather than on the ship. Also the featured passengers tended to do tailored activities in each port that were not available via a Princess excursion. But I will watch the rest, if only to get glimpses of the lovely Regal Princess (which we have cruised on more than any other ship!)

Thanks for posting about your experiences - love seeing it from someone else's view! Great to hear that the port has sorted out a new system to counteract the lack of arrival times. This is this first cruise where the new casual dining changes have been rolled out on Sky Princess so would be interested to see if there is an updated Alfredo's menu if you take your family there!

Sheri from CruiseTipsTV has just done a video from Diamond Princess where she mentions how hot and humid it is (94 degrees and very sweaty on excursions) and that a typhoon meant they were missing Busan on their cruise.

Only wanted to check if the Sapphire reduced menu was a rushed anomoly 😀. There are menus out there with just the $8.50 speciality pizzas which can confuse matters (Enchanted's Gigi's confirmed as having just these this week, no printed fixed price menus but the rules being applied)

Yes, that's my original post with the menus created at the time of the announcement. But there have been some notable differences in Alfredo's for example on the early rollouts on some ships so trying to verify.

It's all rather manual for booking your lounger or cabana. They will usually offer to take you around to select your spot from those that are available. Bookings are written on sheets for each day and coloured in according to half days/full days.

Thanks for confirming - yes, believe that menu with speciality pizzas was out before this casual dining announcement. Looks like they haven't caught up yet.

There seems to be a few things in play at the moment which might change the menus provided with the original announcement: - Sapphire Princess and a Royal Class ship (which one @Steelers36?) had different Alfredo's pricing ($8.50 instead of $12 for pizza) - Vines and the Salty Dog Gastropub were not explicitly mentioned on the email sent out by Princess so are they still part of the deal? Also, someone reported that Planks and Steamers may be returning to Emerald Princess within the next month. If anyone has confirmation from other sources then please let us all know.

They were included in the original announcement but weren't explicitly mentioned on the email that's just been sent out by Princess.

The casual dining changes are meant to be rolled out from today for those boarding Enchanted Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess. Hopefully there will be some reports on how they are working out in practice.
