  1. We are doing a B2B in Feb/Mar of 2016 out of San Juan on the Adventure as well. We cannot wait. The islands the are visited are fantastic. It is very port intensive only one day at sea each week. That is ok though will not be planning anything to exhausting, hang out at the beaches and walking around the ports.

  2. 4 days would not be enough for us, although we are doing a 5 day out of Vancouver next May. Being from Canada the airfare will not be as bad as flying down to Florida or San Juan. We have come to realize that if we are paying the airfare to go down to the states we are going to do B2B's from now on if we can afford it. It feels good to now that you are staying an extra week on the ship when come back into port.

  3. We had room 1602 on the Serenade this past February. We loved it. It is a Junior Suite. Yes it is below the outside section of the Windjammer but we where not bothered my any excessive noise, chair scrapping, music etc. The balcony is big and received lots of sun. We spent a lot of time on the balcony that cruise because of the view of course and the ample room.

  4. We have done Alaska two times... would do it again. Both times had fantastic weather. Both times we went it was the end of Aug beginning of September. We are booked on the coastal cruise on the Jewel in September and really looking forward to it and its ports of call. As long as i am on a cruise ship i am happy. I much prefer the smaller ships for any cruise but if the price and timing was right i would go on any Royal ship.

  5. We have only been in an inside cabin once.... would not be my first choice but if it meant being on a ship or not i would take the inside room. We where in an inside on one of our Alaskan cruises, we where only there really to sleep so didn't make much of a difference. I did have a problem with the darkness an not knowing what time it was because of no light in the morning. Next time if booking an inside room would bring some sort of clock or some people have suggested that they leave the tv on

  6. Following your review, we where on her last year. Love the AFT lounge area. We split our lounging time between there and deck 4. We really enjoyed the ship, but have to say the gym was a big disappointment.

We have sailed on all the vision class ships except for the Grandeur. Guess will have to book a cruise from Baltimore to complete the sweep. I totally agree with your statement about feeling at home when you are on the ship.

I can't wait for two weeks from now when we board the Independence. Looking forward to seeing more of your review.

  7. We have been on all but one of the Vision class ships. Just got off the Legend this past February. Only had one complaint about it and that was the size of the gym( extremely small). Loved hanging out on the large deck at the back of the ship. We didn't find the new restaurants (Izumi or Chops) being a problem where they where located. The view was great. On our particular cruise the Viking lounge was not very busy anytime we where there.

A few years back we were on the Splendour out of Venice. This was our favourite cruise yet. It was very port intensive and had no issues with the ship. Had a wonderful time. Would do those particular stops again in a heartbeat.

I would say that if you where travelling with children you may not find enough things to keep them entertained as you may find on a larger ship.

I do like the Radiance class ships though they are so bright with all the glass.

When we plan a cruise we look for the port of departure (have we been here yet) so we can tour the area before or after the cruise and try not to do the same ship twice. We are doing the Serenade for the 2nd time next Feb but the last time was before it was refurbished.

Have not done anything bigger than the Voyager class. Do plan to do a larger ship, maybe next time.

  8. I would highly recommend a cruise to Alaska. It is an entirely different type of cruise. The scenery and wildlife are spectacular. We have done 2 cruises there and would do another one. The prices do tend to be a bit higher than most of the 7 day cruises down south. We picked up what I thought was an amazing deal last summer on the Monday/Tuesday sales event. 7 day cruise for 525.00 per person inside room. The ports that you sale out of Seattle or Vancouver are a must see as well. Both times we have been up to Alaska have been the last sailing of the season for the particular ship (September). We had decent weather each time.

  9. I have asked this question on other forums and have not received a reply. Do i need to prebook a car service from Cape Liberty to get 2 of us to LaGuardia after our cruise or are there other forms of transportation available besides the cabs waiting at the port. We had booked a tour into New York with transportation to the airport but it was cancelled. This tour was with Royal Caribbean. I understand that Royal only arranges transport to EWR.
