My cruise buddies and I are narrowing down which cruise to book next and Jubilee seems to be rising to the top. None of us have been on her, or cruised out of Galveston. I'm looking forward to your review! Thank you!

In Skagway, we rented a car and drove up the Klondike Highway into Canada --- you MUST have a passport for Canada. I prefer to be in control of where I stop so the rental was great for us. NOTE: Skagway is a tiny town and, at least when we were there, there was only one car rental place in town and they get booked up many months ahead of time. Yes, it's expensive. I think it was 2017 when we were there and a compact car for one day was about $154 (Hertz??). But still cheaper than the ship excursions. I still kept checking the Hertz website every week or so, and about 2 months before our cruise, they had a sale where my same car was only $125. I cancelled the rental and IMMEDIATELY, WITHIN MINUTES, booked and got the same car at the sale price! We drove up to Emerald Lake area, had lunch in the boonies at Spirit Lake, then headed back. Some of the most incredible scenery I've ever seen. Would definitely do it again. We were in Alaska the first week of September. The fall colors were gorgeous along with some wildflowers still blooming.

We have just about narrowed our next cruise to being on Jubilee, and I'm trying to read everything I can find on it. Thank you for doing this review!

I've only been to Magen's Bay beach, and loved it. As a non-swimmer and person who is fearful of water....I know, I know!!.....I was very comfortable at Magen's Bay because of the hardpacked sand bottom and that it is shallow a long way out. Also, there were no waves rushing in to knock you down. How are those things at Coki? Magen's Bay reminds me very much of Half Moon Cay because of the very things I mentioned. I'm a little behind in reading your review, but so enjoying it!

Several years ago, my cruise buddy and I did Alaska on Spirit's sister ship, Legend. I LOVE that ship; can't wait to sail on Spirit too. We were in cabin # 4196, in between 2 lifeboats, but it was before the change out of the previous openable door to a 2nd large window. It was nice to open the door (no balcony, just a rail) to get fresh air and hear the water/waves. The location was fabulous, just inside what looked like maybe a crew door but it was to the section of what I called a secret hallway. Very quiet. That door opened up right by the back elevators, making everything super easy to get to----straight down to the MDR, to a lower open deck (think deck 3), then straight up to Lido buffet with the Serenity after right out the doors to the back. We spent most of our time going in and out to Serenity (had lots more of the comfy cushioned seats by the bar and under cover) and inside for hot chocolate/coffee and viewing while warming up! In photo #1, there is also a floor to ceiling window behind that curtain. Sorry, Photo #3 went in upside down.....that dark metal grate with the walking area for crew to check the undersides of the lifeboats; maybe 2 feet wide at the most. Photo 4 shows our view of the water looking under a lifeboat. Photo 5 shows our view straight out the door between 2 lifeboats. These are considered interior cabins, but you get this restricted view of water and daylight. We loved the location by the back elevator.....our location of choice. These cabins also had a sofa and coffee table....yay!

Seeing those little peach slices on top, I thought this was the same as what I had on Magic in January, at Sea Day Brunch. I normally don't care for French Toast, but the one on Magic I thought was very, very good.... it had peaches and cream cheese cooked into the bottom. Along with my bacon, I couldn't eat it all, but will surely order it on next cruise. Now that I know! Thanks, Greg, for all the photos.....they bring the menu items to life so we can see what we are actually getting.

I need this info also. Golf carts or pedi-cabs would work for me too. Anyone been there lately? Any info?

Very well may be. Could be something as simple as they were cooking too many for the number of orders placed for them, and just wanted them to be eaten instead of disposed of! On one cruise years ago, our large table of people were eating our desserts and the server brought 5-6 fruit and cheese plates, insisting that we eat them. So, we did!

Is Cucina free on Magic? I'd heard there is a charge at dinner, but free limited menu for lunch.

And I think your booking number info and boarding tags will go ahead and say Platinum on them! Log into your account on the CCL website and see if it's already changed over. Sweetest thing ever, seeing that word on my documents! Loving that laundry perk!

A few times when my cruise buddy and I aren't "real hungry", we each order a different entree that we both want to try, and then split them. So, we are eating really 1/2 serving of 2 different ones. That has worked out very well. By dinner, I've usually eaten so much during the day that I'm not very hungry. Skip apps some nights if there isn't something I just REALLY like. Now, I have ordered 2 of the blackened pork tartlets or the spring rolls....I love those 2! But then I will skip dessert.

Me too! Many nights I will have one scoop of sherbet for dessert only because my cruise buddies are all getting one of the regular desserts, and I want something to nibble on too!

Yes, the server asked for sail/sign card/cabin # to charge the 3rd entree to.... just like they get your card to charge an order for drinks while in MDR. I've gotten a soda with dinner occasionally and they charged it to my sail and sign card. there is a statement regarding this upcharge for each entree over 2 on every menu, along with the MDR extra steakhouse options each night.

I think I may have dreamed this but can someone verify if Magic has the gelato station in the Lido buffet area? If not there, where is it located? Thanks!

THANK YOU, FlyerTalker! So, I haven't lost my mind.......yet. I saved that link for future use. So the combo purchase change starts in spring 2024, and will be very helpful at times.

i know that Southwest Airlines (SWA) has always required full payment in either points or "Cash/Money". You weren't allowed to split payment of a single reservation into part points and the rest in cash. So, in the last couple of weeks, I thought I had read somewhere that they were changing that policy to allow customers to split how they pay for a single reservation. Of course, I can't find anything like this now on any internet site, and friends think I've lost my mind! I'm beginning to think I simply dreamed this after doing a lot of flight research for an upcoming trip. Do any of you have any knowledge of this kind of change by SWA? Things like is it true, and if so, when is it effective? Thanks for any info you can share!

The strawberry frozen yogurt has always been my favorite! Fill a drink glass about 1/2 full then top off with lemonade. Oh my, very refreshing. If no strawberry, the vanilla will work with the lemonade. Like a lemonade shake. joe/jack, could you also see if that gelato is also on Magic's Lido area? Friends and I will be on her in January; hoping to try the gelato! Thanks.

I don't eat vegan, but I saw quite a few things I need to try on the next cruise! 2 more months! Thank you for giving us all this great info!

I just remembered that Tea Time isn't under the Foods/Meals info in the Fun Times (unless they changed it since last Jan.). It was in the section for activities, I think. You may have to search to find it, but it is held on sea days.

I love the Sea Day Tea Times. And go to just about all. Yes, the free tea selection is now just plain black tea and I think a green tea. They have flavored tea bags also, but you have to pay for those. I'm thinking around $3 per bag. Some people who want a specific flavor tea will bring their own. I'm personally happy to pay the $3. Plus, you get the little sandwiches (oops, I hate salmon, and cucumbers, so I don't get those; I wait for the SWEETS!). There are usually scones, macarons, fudge tarts with fruit, a couple of different cakes, etc. Tip: I'm sure these are more of CCL's cost-cutting actions, but they don't automatically bring, like they used to, the clotted cream, honey, and lemons to the tables. If you want those, just ask the server and they will bring it to you.

I was seeing some pop up almost daily for a couple of months then none at all for the last 2 weeks or so. I wondered if they just stopped the whole $50 cruise deal. Bring them back, CCL!!
