That's too bad.

I'll be following your trip--we'll be boarding the Oosterdam in Buenos Aires just before Christmas! Our cruise retraces yours as far as Santiago, except it adds an Antarctica Experience. Can't wait!

In their rush to return to normalcy the cruise lines, IMHO, deleted the vaccination requirement and the pre-cruise testing. Bring them back, please.
It must depend on what cruise you are going on, because we'll be on the Oosterdam holiday cruise in South America, and we do have vaccination and pre-cruise testing requirements.

I know it's disappointing to have port changes, but wasn't Key West (and much of Florida) hit rather hard by a hurricane recently--and another may be on its way?

We're going on the 22-day South America & Antarctica cruise in December, and we still have to get tested, which is going to be difficult considering how long our flights are to reach Buenos Aires.

I have sewn and traveled for years and never had a problem with my short-length scissors, seam ripper, needles, or pins, either flying or cruising.

I always take my stitching with me on cruises! Our next cruise is the 49-day Atlantic Adventurer on the Veendam, next month. Someone has already proposed a sit 'n stitch for the 2nd full day onboard (the 1st is our Meet & Greet, and there are well over 100 on our roll call), in the Crow's Nest at 10. I believe she wrote that it couldn't be published in the Navigator. It's a shame!

Yes, you will need a passport for your Canadian port, even if it is just on file with HAL for them to clear your going ashore.
I don't recall seeing much at the port, but then I live near Seattle and was just dropped off at embarkation time.
