Roll call for NCL Getaway
May 24, 2019
There are 2 threads.
The one created March 2018 was created first.
After second look, it appears one thread is on the UK site. I’m not sure how this works.
i think i have them combined... let me know
-
Any advice on how to merge 2 threads for another cruise line?
Do the moderators have access to all cruise lines?
Thanks
back to your question... if you want help from a mod, just email one of us and if we can't do it, we will forward it to our tech dept. and it will get done... as long as it isn't spamming the same message onto different boards..
-
gee, your invite must be lost in the mail.. it's held annually on the FREE Host cruise... hahahahahah
-
You'e welcome.
hey Bob, when you graduate Host school you will have access to all the boards ;)... just kidding!!!!:D:D:D:D:D actually we do have access to all boards, but are assigned specific boards to monitor....
-
day 1 is a good idea because the mdr is usually a zoo the first nite... however, we were able to switch out day 2 for the last nite.... we did this on the ship soon after we boarded
-
Meaning of course that case of water had to be lugged by hand down there...no wheels to assist. ;)
well, seeing as I didn't actually 'see" how it got there I can't be sure .. could have been delivered via a cart.. have no idea... and also don't know if it was my cabin steward that could have delivered it... always have had nice stewards... all have been pleasant and helpful....if fort lauderdale and miami change their policy i will certainly follow the rules
-
And then they magically transport themselves down the narrow hallway from the crew elevator they use to bring up luggage all the way down to your cabin. :D
funny but true,,, some times the water arrives but I have to go hunt my wheelie bags.. LOL
-
Baggage has wheels. But I put my soda in a separate small soft light weight bag or carryon size bag with wheels and check it at pier...
yes, baggage has wheels but have you ever watched them stack them onto the cages.... they don't wheel them up.. :)
-
Have you done it recently in Port Canaveral? Do you think there is a reason the porters there are refusing to handle that bulky case? Just curious.
not in canaveral,, just in ft. lauderdale and Miami...cannot possibly imagine why they wouldn't. rather lift a 10 or 15 lb. package of water vs. having to lift a 50 lb. suitcase.. have you seen the size of some of those suitcases??????
-
Thread has gone off topic.
-
i was not impressed with lunch in ck however dinner is excellent and so much better than the main dining room or wj... the chef even comes out to talk with you and explain some of his recipes.. not that i could replicate them... even the tomato soup has around 16 ingredients... lol
-
we have always slapped a tag on a case of water and it has always arrived intact and to our cabin..... we have done this on both celebrity and Royal
-
I have never ever been able to use it... not combineable with anything!!!..... one good thing the stock has gone up since I purchased it
-
we had no problem switching nites or restaurants.. as soon as you get on board just go to one of the restaurants and they will change it there for you
-
ditto on 'no good snorkeling on labadee" not worth the effort or the money for the excursion
-
There is a photo in my Cruise Planner under "Excursions". There are also several reviews with pictures here on Cruise Critic. Just use the Search function. I have one rented for my December Enchantment cruise. Looks relaxing to me. I paid $251.00 back in April, but this weekend it was on sale for $223.00. I canceled it and rebooked for the lesser amount. No problem whatsoever. I will do the same if it goes down again!
they are now down to 210
-
I was able to book a Cabana for $309 or a Bungalow for $279
for Dec 26. I went with the bungalow.
This was pricier than what I was expecting but my wife likes
the option to be out of the sun when on a beach.
I did not see an option for the beach bed.
I hope the new pier is completed by then.
bungalows are on sale this weekend for 210..... you can call them and get the price adjusted and keep checking for further drops in prices
-
We prefer Columbus Cove, also open to all.
hi Bob,, host star here
trying to find photos of Columbus cove bungalows.... found it once and can't find it again.. duhhh... thanks
-
We just rented one today for the allure. The price dropped to $210 for us during the memorial day sale.
thanks for the heads up... called Royal, they credited the 265 and recharged the new price...... :D

We went to Columbus Cove for the first time last month (been to Labadee three times previously). It was crowded and the only place to set up on the beach was near the end of the market area, near where the food is served. The whole time we were there we were subjected to the endless, loud "cat-calling" from the vendors to people walking by the area, as well as to people on the beach who stood up to walk to the bar, etc. If you had to go to the restroom or got up to walk to where the food was being served, they'd call to you (identifying you by what you were wearing) and walk out on the road in an attempt to approach you to buy something. It was the complete opposite of "relaxing". I couldn't wait the get back on the ship. That will be my fist and last visit to the Columbus Cove area of Labadee.
I don't have a problem saying "no" to vendors or walking by and ignoring them, but the endless cat-calling took it to a new level of annoying.
not happy to hear about columbus cove... I was told by Royal that they have a new quiet area at columbus cove where you can rent the new bungalows and it is a roped off area... did you happen to see that area ???...we have rented one of the bungalows for our cruise on Harmony..

we have never been stopped taking drinks out of the diamond or suite lounges.. in fact when they come around for last call they often ask if we want one to go,,,, also on oasis last year the lounge was so crowded I told the bartender we were taking the drinks back to our balcony,.. after I had come back again he poured me a carafe of vodka plus the fixings for our vodka and club sodas , put them on a tray and said "this will save you another trip back.. enjoy

usually around 11 to 11:30 boarding has always started around 11:30 except when they are late clearing the ship.. however, they still call priority boarding first
-
I just tape a luggage tag to the case of water for rci and celebrity ... it has always gotten to the cabin...

Tipping thread is going downhill. Same type of threads can be searched with the same debate

we did a cp balcony and enjoyed the evening music while getting ready for dinner and haveing a drink... right below our balcony on different nites, were a guitar player, a bagpiper in kilts, a violist , and a keyboard player.. it was really nice
