  2. I would not be worried about having a passport with you while off ship. Most passengers leave in safe.

    TRUE

But ship will usually inform you of the ports that you need to use your Passort, also it does not Hurt to have Colour Photocopies as well with you

  3. They also have them as a watch strap type so if you don't get on with or like the one with the plastic tabs just go to GS and they are able to swop it for you.

You can get them in White, black, blue, yellow and red.

    (This was on the Quantum)

    Good to know

  4. The earliest I can find mention of Crown and Anchor is from 1995 in the February issue of Cruise Travel magazine.

And if you're curious it was expanded in January 1997 according to another article I found:

The new Crown & Anchor Society is divided into four membership levels based on the number of eligible cruises a guest has taken with Royal Caribbean. Guests are eligible for Silver membership in the Crown & Anchor Society after just one cruise with the line. Passengers who have enjoyed a Royal Caribbean cruise at least two times are automatically enrolled as Gold members; after five cruises they become Platinum members, and guests who have taken 10 or more cruises become Diamond members. There is no cost to join.

The biggest benefit to guests is provided by the information shipboard personnel will receive, enabling them to recognize repeat guests by name and deliver personalized attention. In addition, all members will receive the four-color, quarterly "Crown & Anchor Magazine," periodic mailings with special offers and coupons, a color-coded landing card sticker indicating their repeat guest status, and on seven-night or longer cruises, an invitation to a special cocktail party during their cruise. Gold members receive the same benefits, as well as additional special offers on future cruises. Platinum members receive the same benefits as Gold members, plus selected offers on future cruises and plush terry robes for their enjoyment during the cruise. Diamond members receive all the above benefits, as well as exclusive coupons, special boarding privileges, and a welcome aboard bottle of champagne in their cabin.

PS -- For what it's worth I've found documentation that Crown and Anchor only has passenger history back to 1995, so that seems to indicate that to be its first year.

    Thank You Tahaq

I as well wondered about when C & A was Founded when searched the web I only found references going bock to 2002

  5. But the Freestyle machines are not on ALL the ships that homeport out of North America.

The ships that currently have the Freestyle machines are Quantum, Grandeur, Freedom, Enchantment, Explorer, Allure, Oasis, Majesty and Jewel.

    Yes true

Off the top of my head the North American ships that do routes in Europe are one of the Exceptions

  6. Do all ships have free style soda machines? We are on Adventure in November and have really enjoyed these in the past. Wondering about Adventure. Thank you!

Only Ships that Homeport in North America have FreeStyle Coke Machines

    If my memory serves correctly

I just checked on Royal's website

Yes FreeStyle Coke Machines ARE ONLY

On ships that Homeport/Based in North America

  7. I am a loyal carnival cruise In My late 20's. I like to be on the go, shows, comedy, bars, club, food are the most important to me. I'm cruising in September either on navigator of the seas with royal or carnival freedom and they both are the same price and go to the same ports: cozumel, jamaica, Cayman Islands- which I've already been to so the ship is very important. What do you recommend? I hear royal is catered to the Older generation and could be more laid back, relaxing and boring which I want no part of. Please help!!

  9. We've never worn our's either. I think we have them in a drawer somewhere. I think this is one way RCI could save some $$$ on the loyalty program. I don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing them. Wouldn't it be kind of silly?

    Tom

I worn my Platinum & Emerald Pins when On the Ship and have seen Diamond and Diamond+ Many wear theirs on board

  10. We got short changed a few points too in the conversion, but it is what it is.

I have read of other CCers getting this change done in such a manner. So I am thinkng it shouldn't be a problem.

  12. Sailed Oasis in Nov 2012, as Platinum. Didn't reach Diamond until sailing Indy, in April 2014. We got the helipad event invite, as Platinum. They served Chanmpagne, and had a girl play us 2 or 3 songs on a bagpipe. Being out on the helipad was pretty awesome.

I was Platinum at the time Now Emerald we had a Bagpiper as well & a DreamWorks Character.

There was also a P&O UK Ship Ventura

    Beside us in port {Don't Recall our Port location}

As part of Sail-away form port there was a LARGE number of Ventura PAX on one of her top Decks Singing & you could see them waving Many Small Union Jacks

    {Reminded me a BIT of The Proms/Last Night of the Proms}

  13. Is there something extra special about the helipad on Oasis? We found the helipad on Adventure and Explorer open to everyone 24/7 (except when outer decks are closed off due to wind). We were on the helipad for every sail away for two weeks, with very few fellow passengers. Also went every night to star gaze. There are plenty of benches for sitting as well. I don't think most passengers even know to go there.

    I Was on OASIS 29/November/2014 — 6/December/2014

The Helipad Event was for the TOP TIER EVENT Patinum & UP

At the TOP TIER Event we were informed that the Helipad is NOT OPEN to Passengers on OASIS CLASS SHIPS unlike the REST of Royal's Ships

  14. Our loyalty day for sail away on the Helipad (Ours was on Allure) as Emerald status was the day we left Labadee, Champagne and soft drinks.

They must have held it for emerald and above???

    Safe travels.
