  1. I just found a cruise to Nassau and Labadee for Dec 2016. My son wants to go to Atlantis. I think he would love Labadee too and is at the right age for the zipline, coaster, etc.

The cruise is The Oasis also and I have been wanting to do Oasis class!

All this to say: What is the weather like in Dec at these 2 ports. Is it worth the time and cash to do it at this time? Thanks for any input!:)

  2. One thing that we did on FOS on excursion days, was to order Bfast Room Service the night before. We would get it pretty early and just eat in our cabin. We did not fight WJ on those days.

I think that is something that we would continue to do too.

We also learned that MDR is not our style. We just like WJ for an easy dinner or just getting the pizza for our Son. He is 15 now. He loved the Kids Club when he was young

All this to say, I can sure understand the frustration. It took us a few days to find out what makes the best vacation for our family

  3. We went on FOS in 11'. We were on Deck 8 AFT, so I am not sure about your cabin, but we had 3. My son was 11 at the time and he slept in the pullman bed and loved it. He was comfortable.

We shoved our suitcases under the bed and in the closet. We got rid of the the glass table too.

Do you have the pullmans? If not, you might want to see if you can switch to a cabin that does have them. It would have been tight at night with the sleeper sofa pulled out. But you guys will do find and adjust ok to whatever fits your family

  4. We used DS birth certificate, but we had to special order one. The one from the hospital was not good enough, of course. We had to pay for it too.

The passport is good too. Too late to do anything extra.

Have fun. We did FOS in 11'. had a blast

Adventure Ocean is awesome. See how your baby does. My son was 11 and he loved it and could not wait to get there. I am sure your baby will be find and have fun

  5. In all honesty, I think you will have a great time on NOS.

I think I would go whereever the cheapest flight is. If you can get to Houston cheap, then go for it. If it is Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, or Miami, I would go ahead and do FOS, or any other Florida ship

I guess Houston is a shorter flight and that in and of itself is worth it. I hate being squished on a plane.

We live in Texas, and I want to go on Allure/Oasis really bad, but NOS is close and we will most likely do that one since we can save on plane fare. Plus, I sell on ebay for extra spending cash and sales are so slow right now. Not much extra cash

  6. We were AFT 8412 and loved it but it is not an E1, but a D2, I think? The AFT walk did not bother us and if you are healthy, there should be no issues at all.

The Balconies are larger AFT but your neighbors above you can see down to your balcony some. We would walk out in our jammies in the morning and people can see down some.

We would do AFT again, but any balcony would work

  7. It will be fun and interesting when people start reviewing and reporting back their experience at Sabors

Hubby went to lunch yesterday at Salt Grass and he ate for $10.00. I think he said, that he got water and no dessert. So if he added tea, appetizer, and dessert, then he might have spent 25.00.

So if Sabors gives out that much food, I understand the price.

Agree also with the specailty restaurants. We stick to the already paid for venues.

  8. Mi Tierra is a tourist trap. DARN that's the place I went to when I visited SAT:o

Concerning Sabor Im thinking this is a test restaurant for RCCL.

If it does well they will put it on other ships in the future.

Also with the rumour the Nav will be based out or San Jaun Maybe RCCL is thinking ahead to pull in revenue for those that fly into PR

Well, Mi Terra is the "experience" so in that case, you should have had fun. Next time you come to SA, we can suggest a ton of places for great cheap food.

Make sense that NOS wont stay in Galveston. I need to get on her before she leaves though

  9. Maybe? I still cant justify the money for the "experience", but that could because we have the experience here any time we want.

There will be reviews, so I will wait and see. It will be interesting

Hubby is a cheap-skate and I think we would do Chops before Sabors if we paid for anything extra.

We usually put our money into our excursions

  10. Living in Texas (San Antonio), and being able to get a great Mexican lunch for 4.99 including tea, I really doubt that we can justify paying $25.00 for a meal at Sabor on NOS. That is $50.00 for me and DH and $75.00 if we added DS who only needs a few bean and cheese from Taco Cabana and he is happy. He can go to Sarentos and pizza and he is fine.

I guess I will be interested to see how Sabors does in a ship in Texas.

Here is the menu and I just cant justify the price

  11. I would SCREAM:eek: If Oasis or Allure came to Texas!!!! That would be beyond exciting.

I hve been on FOS, and will most likely get on NOS at some point.

It seems to me that now NOS is the same as FOS, so why bring the same ship?

I wouldnt mind a smaller ship along with the larger in Texas for 3 and 4 day cruises as well.

We need to step up the Texas market.

  12. I cant answer which cabin is the quietest.

We used Travelinx. I think we got the deal through a snooze and cruise. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. We stayed there because we had a gift card worth $100.00 through a CC credit. We checked out with like a $9.00 bill. It was awesome.

Anyway, Travelinx picked us up at Orlando Airport and took us to the Marriott in Port Canveral. In the morning, I think we needed to be ready by about 9am and got on the bus and they took us to the port.

When we got off the ship, Travelinx was right there outside the terminal and took us back to the airport. Worked like a charm. I think we only paid for our son because the whole cruise and snooze package paid for me and DH on the GC.

As far as your cabin, I know there is so much to choose from.

We stayed in an AFT Balcony and loved it. No complaints. Some say the walk is long, but that did not bother us.

Google Snooze and cruise for Port Canveral and see who you can find for your transportation.

I will say this too. I just recalled that DH and I decided that if we did PC again, we would rent a car at the airport and drive. We could have used the car that evening to drive to the beach etc, but Travelinx was not bad. We just could not walk too far around PC

  13. We have just about quit going to the MDR in favor of the Windjammer or the Specialty Restaurants.

It is calm & quiet if you go when it first opens and there is a vast variety of food. There is always at least one carved meat. (We have seen Prime rib, filet of Beef, Turkey, Lamb, and Ham)

This thread is old but it has many photos of food in the Windjammer. (My Doctors have disapproved this thread)

We feel the same way. The MDR is just too fussy for us. I love seeing all the people and fmilies dressed up but for us (FOS) having beach days and pool days, the WJ suited us. I like how relaxed I was in there. The food suited us just fine.

I love the salad bar and fruit and sushi.
