  1. I don’t see this answered in the handicap section of the board. I fell this week and may cancel my cruise. I will be doing well to get on the ship with a rented scooter at the port in PC. Will Carnival help me haul my carry-on luggage? Thanks.
  2. I’ve use FaceTime and it works. I called my sister in Indiana. Also, on one cruise, only I had WiFi and my husband was on the balcony and I texted him from the cabin. It worked. I think some of these scenarios work but officially Carnival doesn’t support it just because sometimes it doesn’t work. Just my theory.
  3. Yeah. I learned the hard way. Last cruise I bought $200 worth of Gucci perfume only to discover I should have bought it at home. The only things which I have found are lovely dresses which I didn’t have buyer’s remorse after buying.
  4. Thanks. According to the scooter people at the port, it WILL fit in there. It sounds like we’ll need to work around it.
  5. Good idea. But wouldn’t be doable . Ive written Carnival on the off chance there’s a no-show in a HC on my sailing. I realize it’s a long shot. Thx
  6. I have already looked through the handicap cruising boards here. So we’re on the Vista in a few weeks. I fell on Monday and I now need a scooter. Ugh! I’m so mad! Carnival’s disability department says the scooter will fit inside a regular cabin. Is this going to work? Where in the Sam Hill is this going to fit? There are no HC cabins left. What are the chances of me getting a HC cabin at the pier? I’m sick about this. My friend said she’d rather be my nurse than have me cancel even though I have insurance for cancellation.
  7. Yes. This is the one asking for minimum of 6. Thanks for your help. I’m going to try to do your suggestion.
  8. I want to just get a tour for $50 pp plus tip but all I can find are tours which require me to gather a group of 6. Not happening. I don’t mind going with ours for us to drive around to sightsee but I don’t want to find other people to go. Do you think we can just grab a group tour for this price when we get off the ship? We just need a tour and decent bathroom stops, no swimming. The last tour we took brought us to restrooms which had NO toilet seats! 🙄 Thanks.
  9. Yikes! You’re making me not want to go to the deli. Which I do a lot. We’re sailing in 3 weeks and if she’s still there and has an attitude such as this, I will give her a second chance. Then I will simply smile at her, find an officer and fix the problem. Forget that noise. I’m not dealing with that all week.
  10. When is the Diamond lunch and how do you get invited?
  11. Curious what your idea of a killer deal is.
  12. I already use a VPN when I work from home. I have to “ approve” the connection when it sends something to my cell phone. So, are you saying that that itself is secure enough?
  13. Yes. I went on 7 cruises in 2022, some of which were alone. I can’t recall how many in 2023 but in 2024, now that I’m back to living in the Midwest, I have 4. My boss accommodates my cruise addiction so long as I get the work done. I leave on a whim, sometimes inconveniencing other people. Nobody tells me when to go on vacation and I do what I wish. In my mind, it’s a small price to pay if the cruise is to the Bahamas or Caribbean. Now, if it was to Hawaii or somewhere else, that’s a different animal.
  14. I use Cisco VPN when I work from home. While cruising, I just send things over email but I am curious about how “secure” it is to actually hook up to our server at work. It’s one thing to have an email be viewed by someone who’s not supposed to see it, but to have our server exposed because I’m working from a cruise is absolutely not an option. Our IT company has said that he doesn’t believe it is secure. He thinks I’d need to buy something extra. Thoughts? Did you do/buy anything special to be sure you’re secure?
  15. I think Royal adds them daily. Carnival adds them all at once as a line item a few days prior to the end of the cruise.
  16. Welp, I received it and it’s a big nothing burger. As most have said here, my other offers far exceed this Ultra. I went on an Ultra on the MG last year just because I had not been before. I ended up spending a lot for my room, and the same is true with today’s Ultra. I just don’t feel that unless you get a free room that it’s worth it.
  17. Hmm. So much for receiving Ultra. Mine is supposed to arrive today but I see nothing in my email or in my offers. Not that I will likely get anything worthwhile based on the comments here so far, but I was a little curious. Anyone else receive this Ultra offer who was supposed to receive one today?
  18. Oh. OK. I hope it’s there. The last 2 cruises our cabin was not finished being cleaned or a card to get in the cabin even at 1:30 pm. Thanks for the info.
  19. Sorry but I’m raising this feed from the grave for just a minute. I’m turning diamond on my next cruise in May. I called the Diamond desk to inquire about the free steakhouse dinner. The woman who answered the phone sounded like I woke her from a nap and told me to just wait until I got on board. Or book it, pay for it and go to guest services for a refund. Ugh. I said ok. I had this in my shopping card for 1 day to see if I liked the atmosphere of the steakhouse and now they’re booked. Now I’m hearing you can’t get reimbursed. So I guess I will try to set something up immediately upon boarding. But I don’t think I’ll have the steakhouse paper, right? What are the chances of me getting a 5:30 booking on the first night?
  20. Thanks. Well, I already have a couple Premier offers. I went on an Ultra on MardiGras last year and was not impressed. I keep hearing about Elites. I don’t think I gamble enough though. 😞
  21. Pfft. Nope. I’ve never had use for a debit card. Ever. Always paid credit; always paid it off each month. I just only buy things I need. Like gambling and cruises. 🙂 Always reaped the benefits of cash back, free airfare, etc. Again, before I give up all hope, I’ll wait and see what happens in a few weeks. Come on Elite! 🤞
  22. Yes. I just did that on Sunshine. And a bottle of wine.
  23. I don’t know. Who? Who is likely to spend spend spend? Who would use a debit card when you get a lot more benefits from using a credit card?
  24. Good for you! $9 a spin … That’s what this nice southern belle woman was doing next to me and she was doing VERY well. She said she won $2,600 the prior evening. This was on the Sunshine. When I was up $500 on the machine, that’s when I decided to spin the $9 button and that’s when I eventually worked my way up to $1400 winnings.
