  1. In 2019 we took the train from Seward to Anchorage on our Noordam cruise and we had to be off the sip at 5:00am for a 5:45am departure of the train. Now that they use Whittier, they may have better times for the train.
  2. We have never had a problem changing flights with Flight Ease after ticketing. Our flights in August with FE have been ticketed, our request, and we have already made changes to the itinerary. When we requested ticketing in January, asked about changes, cancelations and fees for same, we were told not an issue up to final payment date 90 days out.
  3. Club Orange is included with a Pinnacle and Neptune suite. On the 3 Pinnacle class ships CO is also a private dining room similar to Luminae on Celebrity. On all other ships it is priority seating in the MDR with an added entree special for just CO. If you are not in a suite you can add CO for $25pp per day to get all of the benefits, but the number available is limited on every cruise. We added CO to our Koningsdam cruise last November and overall we liked the food and daily special better in the CO dining room than our recent Luminae experiences. We added it to our upcoming Volendam cruise this year. We found that the Koningsdam MDR food was far superior to Celebrity and have made the decision to no longer cruise with Celebrity due to many reasons. One other HAL thing we love is their online Flight Ease it is so much better and user friendlier over Flights by Celebrity.
  4. That is very normal for airlines to list your names that way. We flew home from Australia last month and Air New Zealand had my name as TerryAlan then my last name. This has also happened with AA and United in the past. It is not a big deal and you will have no problems boarding.
  5. Wow,I have never seen anything like that on HAL or Celebrity, was the food as good as it looks?
  6. I have followed your live from threads for a couple of years and was surprised you didn't have more X cruises. I have never heard you complain about anything and doubt you think you are entitled to anything outside of the norm and I understood your first post very clearly. If we here on CC think some Celebrity policy is unfair it is good that we bring it to ours and Celebrity's attention. Just like Cookiegate months ago, the outrage here and other social media sites got corporate to reverse course. While on our Edge cruise to NZ in January I posted how we had the worst ever room attendant of any cruise and we were in a SS. I posted this in the general Captains Club page on a social media site we are not supposed to mention here. Within one hour the Retreat Manager and the Hotel Manager were knocking on my cabin door to discuss my displeasure I had posted on social media. My point is somebody at corporate must be monitoring Celebrity social media sites. BTW the situation was taken care of very swiftly and professionally.
  7. So sorry to read about your ordeal, having returned last month from our Edge Aus/NZ cruise, I would have enjoyed following your usual great live thread. I think what many here are missing is, your original post and the meat of this thread is about a Celebrity policy of not giving loyalty points for canceled cruises where they keep your payment. I agree that this seems to be an unfair policy and what does Celebrity loose by not doing this? My other surprise was that you were not already Elite since it seems like you have taken so many Celebrity cruises. I hope your leg mends quickly and hope to read your future live threads.
  8. Some of them may have free Wi-Fi and you can always use your cell phone with International roaming.
  9. Last month on the Edge, all B2B guests could have lunch in MDR on TAD, we had over 700 of them on our TAD. We decided to have lunch in Sydney on land. Do not know about Zeniths.
  10. In January we went from Sydney to New Zealand and we crossed 2 time zones on the way to NZ in 2 days. Each night we advanced 1 hour so that when we got to our first port we were on local time.
  11. Only if the Maitre'd enforces the no shorts when people enter the MDR, on the Koningsdam last November I saw shorts in the MDR every night including dressy nights.
  12. I have the same issue when I do a mock booking on our Aug 20th cruise from Boston on the Volendam. HAL has a history of IT issues with their website.
  13. Looks like the chefs know how to "sear" tuna steaks, something HAL and Celebrity has problems with.
  14. Was it better than the horrible BBQ served on Half Moon Cay by HAL?
  15. Dive In is the included hot dogs, Hamburgers and tacos on the pool deck similar to Mast Grill on Celebrity.
  16. You can go to guest services or the shore excursions desk once onboard to do this. We have done it for specialty restaurants booked prior to boarding.
  17. Not strong at all, I have to get my coffee from the Lido specialty coffee. Some days the Lido coffee is almost like dishwater in strength. I always have a drinks package so I get the specialty coffee for free.
  18. Not sure as I have never had to rent one. You could always get a 3 way plug just in case.
  19. On the K'Dam last November I heard nothing but complaints from passengers who dined there about slow service and food quality. It was enough for us to cancel our reservation later in the cruise.
  20. Last November on the Koningsdam which was 100% sold out we had to wait about 20 minutes a couple of nights around 6-6:30pm, but the wait was worth it for the much-improved dining experience and nightly chef specials. We saw lines to get into the MDR at the same times that were down the halls waiting to get seated. They do not take reservations but the hostess does a good job of turning tables. On the K'Dam the Club Orange is very small with only 19 tables.
  21. I upgraded my HIA surf to Premium last November on the Koningsdam which worked great for Wi-Fi calls and streaming. We have the Premium early booking HIA package on our August Volendam cruise, is the premium wi-fi going to something less now that HAL has added a third streaming tier of internet?
  22. We have used HAL FE for years with zero problems. It is so easy to go online and book flights, seats and class all in one place. No phone calls are needed as it can all be done online in your HAL account. Always been able to make changes without fees if prices drop or I find better connections up to final payment. I have canceled and rebooked flights many times to save money. Best advantage is being able to book multiple airlines, we are flying to Boston in August for our Volendam cruise on United and returning from Quebec city on American. We booked on FE and we are in first class seats. 3 days after we booked online, our flights were even ticketed by HAL, but I can still make any changes. My best testament to FE is in 2021 were had to Covid quarantine for 4 days post cruise in Venice and we missed our flights home in BC. FE worked with us by canceling our booked flights and then rebooking us in BC 4 days later at no extra charge to us, this is something no US airline would do if we booked directly.
  23. The scallops looked much bigger than what we had on our Celebrity cruise last month, the scallops served as an entree were 3 small ones about the size of a quarter. I had to order a double order to get enough. We will be on the Volendam in August for our Canada/NE cruise and I hope we get better scallops. Your beef Wellinton looked good.
  24. Wow, the food looks so much better than what I have seen on HAL and Celebrity recently, how do they compare in taste and quality so far?
