  1. Again, it really depends on cloud cover and KP. That’s why I like the app. Right now I have Nuuk plugged in as city. Also, as someone who saw them on an Alaska cruise I was on in Oct/2021, the green color you see in pictures, will look like mist to the naked eye. A picture will pick up the green. The Captain did announce the possibility on that cruise, so usually they are pretty good letting people know. A little bit earlier at night. 1130-midnight…and of course, I was asleep again. I really need to change my sleep habits of getting up at 4-5am and being asleep at 9…LOL
  2. Occasionally we see them in the Seattle area. I never have, because I always find out after the fact, and when it happens, I’m sleeping. In Alaska, it is also going to depend on the cloud cover. I use an app, and plug in a city, for you Skagway. It will give you the likelihood of whether you have a chance to see them or not. I use the app, My Aurora Forecasts and Alerts. If you click on Forecasts at the bottom, it will give you some good info.
  3. If you go to the current or next sailing of Symphony, bottom left says dining. Under restaurants, find Solarium Bistro and click. You should see Menu on that page.
  4. Well excuse me….you started your post with USUALLY. Maybe I should have used different words. I know pre booking has only started recently on some ships.
  5. Not always. I was able to book entertainment on the Ovation for April cruises. For some ships, reservations will open on the 1st of the month before sailing month. I booked via the website, not the app.
  6. Unfortunately, it is probably correct. Those are the chances you take when booking a GTY.
  7. You can also look at current sailing or next one on the app, and bring up dining and then bars. Prices should be listed for drinks
  8. Do you have an iPhone? If so, go to app, pull up setsail pass and add barcode to your apple wallet. The last 4 digits will be your cabin.
  9. That info was just updated today. RAT do not need to be proctored.
  10. I believe this is the price since the ship is still in Australia. They just raised to $14, so the Ovation may change when it gets back here. I board on the 27th in Sydney, so I can ask.
  11. You have to look at your cruise planner. It is always cheaper to go one person and multiple devices, rather than multiple people and 1 device. When you go 1 person and 2 devices, you will share a logon and pin, but 2 people can both be logged on at same time….for instance, if 1 person is $18.99, and the second device may be $14.99. When you do 2 people with their own device, then you pay $18.99 for each person, but they have separate logon’s and pins. You can see price difference by adding to cart in planner…just don’t checkout. I know, clear as mud, huh? Hahaha
  12. Somebody on my Roll Call said they also had to test last Sept. on the Vancouver-Honolulu. I’m wondering if this was more a Canada restriction. PS…I looked it up, and Canada dropped all testing on Oct 1 2022. That is why some still had to test to Hawaii
  13. I would check on your Roll call also and see if anybody has heard anything. I’m on the Ovation, and I asked on there also. I board in Sydney, but many are just sailing the Hawaii leg. I know Hawaii and Canada were some of the last to lift testing requirements, so it may have had to do with that also. At least it doesn’t need to be proctored now. 😉
  14. If there is any question, cruiser should contact Royal. I have never gone that way from Vancouver, but I guess I will see if they test in May, since I will already be on board from Sydney.
  15. That is not considered a TP cruise. The Sydney to Honolulu is the TP portion. So leaving from a US port, Honolulu, no test is required.
  16. Most drinks you mentioned are $14. You can go to the app, and look at the current sailing of the Wonder. The bar menus will show prices.
  17. On May 1 2023, the Ovation will be at sea, one day before it reaches Honolulu. Do you mean May 2 2023 or May 1 2024. I will be on the ship in May, so that’s why I know dates. I board the ship on Mar 27 and only had to make reservations for Pixels Cabaret in Two70. I personally liked upstairs (Deck 6) for the best view. No other shows require reservations. Reservations open on the 1st of the month, prior to sail month. So for May sailings, reservations open Apr 1. I have already made reservations for Solarium Bistro for dinner. If there are tables open, they will seat you, but it isn’t always guaranteed. Free IFly and Northstar can be booked once on board. Extended/Pay versions can be booked earlier. PS…Join the Roll Call. You can always get good info there.
  18. On website in cruise planner, go to top left corner and pull down menu. Click on internet. Always cheaper to pre purchase. You probably only have surf and stream option now.
  19. You can sign up for extended (pay) prior to boarding. This will take you over the sides of the ship, plus up. The free version is when you get on board to book, and those only go up and back down. I think they open new free slots daily. I have had it cancelled on me 3 times on the Ovation, so since I had OBC I opted for the extended on the Ovation in the South Pacific next month.
  20. Because cabins are based on double occupancy, regardless of age.
  21. You can also share vouchers, so if you are inclined, you may use them for others. My daughters enjoyed this perk.
  22. DBP..Deluxe Beverage Package. Not to be confused with UDP (dining) 😉
  23. First, go to YouTube and watch all the videos you can on the Harmony. There are some great vloggers that really get into detail, good and bad.
  24. It’s hard to say. I’m on that sailing also, but I’m embarking in Sydney. I was able to prebook on my Mar 27 cruise, but nothing on other legs. The only show that needs reserving is Pixels Cabaret in Two70. I’m not sure if other shows will need reserving later on. Just keep checking.
