Cruising was doing just fine, with masks. Removing the mask mandate maybe going to backfire, now that the most recent variant is about as infectious as Measles. Masks aren't perfect, but do provide a layer of protection. Especially if the infected are the ones wearing the mask.

Yes, I too want to know what went wrong. Carnival needs to acknowledge that they messed up and how they plan to fix the problem. If they can't admit they had problems, they probably won't fix them.

I beg to differ with you. Was vaxed and boosted. Got covid and got pretty darn sick and needed steroids (pills and inhaler), as well as rescue inhaler to breathe. I shudder to think what the outcome would have been without the vaccines. So, vax and boosted doesn't always mean you just get a cold. In some folks, it can still kill you.
